The Rivalry, Esq.: 2010 BCS & Big Ten Bowl Projections
The Rivalry, Esq. provides an early projection of 2010-11 Big Ten Bowl matchups. While completely trivial and worthless, it was nice to see this:
Last year, I predicted 8-4 for Michigan and I was off by three games. I'm doing it again. South Carolina? This is probably Spurrier's last best chance to make something of the program. Unfortunately, all he can do is elevate them to the level that Lou Holtz did.
I certainly think I'd rather be in Tampa on New Year's Day than in these places.
Click the link for the other predictions including two potential future Big 14/16 matchups.
I'll be in Tampa on New Year's so here's to hoping.
Personally I hope he's off by three games on his prediction again.
(MAN would 11-1 be sweet...)

Should have put it in quotes. It took me a minute to get what you were saying.
Did you see that he picked UCONN to be the Big East champs.
I don't think it is that crazy of a prediction (even if it does look weird seeing UConn in a projected BCS Bowl game). Who are the other favorites in the Big East? Cincy? Pitt?
It's going to be a great opener at the Big House.
They may be Big East champs, but they'll be 0-1 against the Big Ten
Florida and Alabama to the Big 10! You heard it here first.
Hey! I said that two weeks ago... I may have said Florida and Alabama, in conjunction with Texas, the St. Louis Rams, and the Montreal Allouettes, but I said it nonetheless...
UConn in a BCS game is somewhat worriesome, but I'd have to agree with most of the predictions.
They could go 11-1 for all I care, as long as their one loss is to Michigan.
Wouldn't we prefer them to win all 11 other games, regardless of what happens on September 4th? Quality wins and quality losses, baby.
i do not enjoy your sports radio style segway to get me to click the link / listen to a commercial
...my segues so that they don't push you to click on a link you just...can't...prevent...yourself...from...clicking.
Here's another Segway for you...
doh!
It'd be cool if that game were actually Michigan vs Georgia. No offense to the Gamecocks, I just really want to see Michigan vs. Georgia for selfish reasons.
Michigan vs. Georgia would be epic.
Plus, Mark Richt has already been schooled by Rich Rod in a BCS bowl.
Gotta agree with that. I was born in Atlanta and my house would turn into the civil war if that matchup occurred. Hopefully there would be the same result..
a quick moment to give props to the J Hey kid on his Rookie of the Month award.
I started grinning at the notion of Nebraska beating the Buckeyes in the NC.
I'm not on the Iowa bandwagon at all. They had too many close, crappy wins last year, I think they were a fluke. I also think Georgia Tech was a fluke, so that cancels out the Orange Bowl win in my eyes. Eventually the SEC speed/talent is going to figure out how to stop the triple option, assignment football, people.
FYI, "assignment football" only works until the offense changes their assignments. If you are the free safety and your responsibility is to tackle the A-back, that's all well and good to "stick with your assignment" until suddenly the FB comes and blocks you.
Come on Cotton Bowl! Personal reasons only - carry on.
We own the SEC
Would be nice to see us dismantle Spurrier in a bowl game.
That would be great, I'm only 30 mins to Tampa.
I live in Tampa, so I agree that this would be great. With that said, I hope they can get 9 or 10 wins. 8 wins is a step in the right direction, but I 9 or 10 will quiet the RR haters and provide RR some job security, most likely leading to a top 5 recruiting class in years to come.
in the MNC in Bo Pellini's third season? He's had exactly the same amount of time as RR and already had a 10+ win season and is predicted by some random guy on the internet (what more proof do you need) to get his team to the MNC.
Why has Pellini been able to turn around Nebraska so quickly? Genuine question here, fellas.
Misopogen has your answers.
His defensive talent has been much, much better than ours.
However, getting to a bowl game for the first time under Rich Rod would be cause for muppets.
if we go 3-0 vs UConn, MSU, and ND, then 8-4 is very possible.
Florida State?? That's an interesting pick.
Notre Dame is missing. Too bad they're too good to join a conference. Maybe CUSA will be available in a few years.
but I stopped reading their post after I saw the OSU v. Neb championship prediction.
Maybe OSU can get there, but there is no way in hell Nebraska will be in the title game.
being in the BCS title game either. However, I do think it's a real possibility that they win the Big 12 in a season in which Texas and Oklahoma should be slightly below standard.
