OT: Best music vid you've seen
There's this band that's only partially based in my neck of the woods called Ramona Falls. They've clearly conspired with the devil vis a vis a soul sale or three in order to make the best music video I can ever recall seeing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga0ohgZFVqc
Granted, I'm an old-timer who grew up in the golden age of the music video (i.e. - back when MTV lived up to it's moniker), but I've never seen any video that so perfectly portrayed a song as this one. Every aspect of the video whether it be timing, lighting, color or intensity is perfectly meshed with the music to deliver a complete story beyond what music or art could do alone.
Even if you can't stand the music, I think there's a good chance you'll appreciate the video for delivering it so well.
If you've got a music video you appreciate above all others, drop a link and enlighten the rest of us.
4 months to go...
I laughed, I cried... from that hernia I popped for laughing so hard. The best satire video I can recall seeing.
That was satire, right?
"Wild in the Streets" by Garland Jeffreys. The song itself is from the early 70's, though I'm assuming the video was made fairly recently. Garland was known for his sound, blending rock, soul, blues and reggae. The video is a montage of street scenes from the mid 70's in New York, presumably The South Bronx. If you've ever wondered what the Hip-Hop culture looked like in its infancy check the video out, it gives you a pretty good idea of what was going on during the Pre-Bling Era of Hip-Hop.
Gets me everytime.

This is a video from my childhood that I haven't outgrown. Even if you don't like the music, the video is still pretty sweet.

DA BOOM NA DA MMM DUM NA EMA!
(loosely translated)
You can't give it away!
I'm talking the clown in "Poltergeist" creepy. I've seen a cut of that before, but never the source.
I'll file that under 'best of creepy videos that can claim to be music"
This is the first post of the "OMG GREAT MUSIC!" variety that I didn't do a face palm over. Call me over cautious, but I'm sure we all still remember the horror of "Woe, is me". Good find +1.
And one of my favorites will always be Ok Go and their treadmills
is all about the videos, aren't they. Alright, that's not grammatically correct.
This video of theirs is slick too:
for sure.
I heard Jon Bon Jovi interviewed on 'Fresh Air' kinda recently and he mentioned how he didn't care for making videos. I don't remember any Bon Jovi videos because I don't have to or want to, but clearly he never tried this sort of approach.
is the greatest music video of all time. However, it's extremely NSFW, so I don't think I'll be posting that one. Feel free to check it out on YouTube though....It's worth it.
Late night BET is where it's at.
"BET Uncut" was great..........it was like watching much dirtier versions of Cinemax late-night movies on regular cable.

I noticed the new comment editor, but is embedding videos broken?

The nihilists must have made this video

I do love me some NOFX. It always has amazed me how much Fat Mike's voice has improved over the years. Compare S&M Airlines to this one:

But in all serious-ness this video is probably the best of all time:

damn you, you beat me to it! good call though, it doesn't get better than this
Bray Bray beat me as well. Sober blew away(and forever warped) my mind when I was a kid. This is my only 'remember where you were at the first time you saw it' video.
All their videos are great, but Sabotage is by far the best:
didnt even bother to read yours before putting up the samething. +1 to you.
spike jonze has done some of the best. example-beastie boys, sabotage (among several others). also daft punk.

Spaceman by The Killers is really good, though a bit odd.

I always liked Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun, but it kinda creeped me out.
