Quite obvious Nick Saban is a terrible role model and really believes winning football games takes prescident over anything. The man should have stayed in the nfl because he really is no good for young people and I am sure unless they can help him win football games they have zero worth in his world. Good coach.... not such a good human.

Yeah but is an arrest sufficient? Remember Jourdan Lewis was arrested and accused of DV, and ultimately acquitted much later. Imagine if she accused him the week before the Game and the NCAA had no choice but to suspend him. No thank you I do not want to give the NCAA more reason to fuck us, thanks.

This one doesn't rile me up. He was sleeping behind the wheel in the parking lot after drinking. Wouldn't be a big deal except he turned the car on. Put it under the category of stupid, but not exactly driving a player from county jail to practice.

Was it different when Kevin Grady was given a slap on the wrist when he was sleeping behind the wheel of a car that was in traffic? He was the freaking team captain for the season opener that year.

Don't get in the driver's seat when you're so drunk you can't stay awake. This isn't that difficult. And there should be consequences.

Wow, funny that important detail isnt very well publicized. Of course I only have read the headlines, but Twitter and the boards haven't really mentioned anything. I'm sure more than a few of us here have tried to sleep off a few brews in our car. Hope he had no intention of driving.

At 4 AM on July 29th the temperature was 71 degrees.  It's possible he turned the car on for the AC and was in the driver's seat for some unexplained reason, but I find the other explanation far more likely, especially because he was so close to campus.  Finding a place to sleep would have been extremely easy.

Get a room then or a cab ride. I'm sure a booster would have reimbursed him. It's drinking and the car is running, doesn't matter where the car is, there should be a very high bar for shit like this. I've lost family to a drunk driver this shouldn't be negotiable.

The car was just a couple of blocks from the main drag of bars. Popular opinion is that he drove there, had a few drinks, walked back to his car, and decided to sleep it off in his car. If what I described is actually what happened, then he did exactly what I hope my kids would do.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said. Your parents obviously did a terrible job with you, otherwise your posts wouldn't scream "holier than thou elitist", and I'll therefore ignore your parenting advice. Once again, if one of my kids feel like his/her two options are drive drunk or sleep in the car with the air conditioning on, I will tell them to sleep it off 100% of the time.
