Louisville men's bball national title *may be* vacated
Per the NCAA, Louisville's national title has been vacated due to the scandal surrounding the men's bball team. Dan Wetzel from Yahoo notes that this isn't a forfeit so Michigan doesn't get the national title. There's no winner.
So do we pull an Okie St football and start acting like we won a game we didn't?

EDIT: Per a correct note below, only wins during the specified timeframe in which ineligible athlete(s) participated will be vacated. Louisville has to provide the NCAA with this info. Not sure who the atheletes are, so not sure if that will include NCAA title win.
and there is no #1, then...
Nobody talks about banners as much as fans of Michigan basketball. Nobody. MSC and Bill Martin did that to you.
Why, aren't you just a princess...
The troll disappeared...
Spike Albrecht gets the MVP now. That's how this works.
Someone needs to make an (un)official 2013 championship t-shirt for the MGoStore, preferably featuring Burke's clean block, I'd wear it in a heart beat.
but would you buy one?
If half of the football teams in the south can lay claim to mythical national titles from the 1930s, Michigan can surely claim a national title where the other team was 404 Not Found - With Hookers.
Eff Pitino
Unpopular opinion here, but he had nothing to do with it.
Literally zero.
By design*
So you honestly think Rick Pitino, the millionaire basketball coaching icon, bankrolled a bunch of west-end prostitutes to show up at a campus party where he thought some high school prospects might be? For what? Maybe they like whores?
Law of parsimony, man.
In all likelihood a former staffer, who happened to be young and like strippers at his house parties, threw a party and some of the current players who were hosting recruits showed up with said recruits.
It's not that difficult.
Counter-point: Rick Pitino has some past experience with the inter-mingling of sex and money.

All sex intermingles money.
Unpopular opinion here, but he had nothing to do with it.Yes, but that is entirely the point.
Wow. The NCAA has always been relunctant to vacate national titles. Are there more to come?
They are actually consistent about this: a vacated game has no official winner, so no one claims victory. 1993 Temple doesn't get to raise a Final Four banner because they lost in the Elite Eight to a Michigan team that later vacated its season.
Losers like Mary Sue Coleman and Bill Martin have got you thinking way too much about banners. Don't justify their actions with a reaction.
will look great in your mother's basement in Bolivia.
It takes a particular type of, um, internet denizen to spend this much time being an a-hole on a sports blog.
That would be a forfeit. The game is vacated - there is no winner.
Also, can we get Tim Hardaway 2 more points for that obvious and eggregious goaltend early on by Gorgui Dieng?
It was a block then.
It's a block now too.
it is a block now, and it will be a block in the future.
Fucking refs fucked us out of a title. Fuckity fuck. Now I'm mad all over again. I just got over this shit 9 months ago.
This passes for seriousness at a place that thinks they are an especially high-minded message board. Consider that for a moment.
DOCTOR JAAAAAAAAAWS.
Are you saying you fuckity know what would have fuckity happened in the last five or so minutes of that game if only Louisville weren't allowed to shoot two fuckity free throws? Would your own life be less fuckity fucked if you got to wear a championship t-shirt around?
Always was a block, even the Louisville guy said it was a clean block....

it's not official that the title is vacated. the ncaa determined that games with ineligible players would be vacated, but did not specify those games. louisville has to provide the ncaa with a list of those games.
Luke Hancock should have been ineligible to keep playing after he fouled out, so I would say the championship game should be one of those games.
he just has to stay away from the ladies. . . .
It was a block then.
And it will be a block in the future as well.
OH MY GOD THE NCAA DID SOMETHING THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO!
