Cleveland Once A Week Radio Personality Fired - Accused Peppers of Drug Use

Submitted by Stay.Classy.An… on

Sabrina Parr during her "participation" of a broadcast on ESPN 850 in Cleveland accused Peppers of being on the "lean and molly" and that he's "high all the time". The YouTube link to the show with said statements is included within the article.

The best part is when she claims to have been "misquoted" on Twitter, to which another person responds "you can't be misquoted on the radio, it's literally your own voice saying those words".

Lean = Promethazine couh syrup mixed with pop or juice.

Molly = Purest form of MDMA or Ecstacy

EDIT: Fixed a few spelling errors

EDIT EDIT: Changed the title to reflect Ms. Parr's accurate job title and affliation with said broadcast as the MGoCommunity can be, as my students put it "petty".

This is pretty much the reason ESPN is losing a ton of subscribers and visitors to their site and thankfully for them the fired this "reporter".

People don't want fake, made up reports and (in this case it doesn't matter, because she was fired) while this gets a chuckle from OSU fans, Michigan fans will boycott ESPN. Now, magnify this by 5 or 10 or 20 other fanbases and you get...ESPN viewership.

In THIS market, you'd be surprised how many people WANT to believe that this is true.  People love fake news as long as it coincides with their beliefs.  Politics, religion, sports, etc. all have their true believers.  Ohio fans WANT to believe the worst about Michigan players.

To be fair, if this is a local host, then ESPN probably had nothing to do with her hiring.  She would've been hired by the radio station.  They are an ESPN affiliate so they carry some of the national ESPN radio shows. I'm pretty sure any local shows they run on their airwaves are controlled by the radio station.

...Or it's because people aren't going to pay money for free info or info inside info that travels so quickly that if you wait 5 minutes you can still get the goods and be involved in social media conversations to give your hawt takes.

It's 2017, people aren't paying for news anymore. There is nothing exclusive that ESPN offers. And insider opinions don't matter when you can similar opinions from similar sources for free.

People have to stop blaming ESPN for things they don't like and claiming THOSE are the reason ESPN is losing money.

ESPN is losing money for the same reason people don't buy newspapers anymore. It wasn't because all of a sudden the writing got soooooo much worse and we just couldn't take it any longer. No, the internet happened. Mobile news happened. 24/7 cable news happened. It wasn't because there was some Stephen A. Smith or Jemele Hill type columnist and the whole country said "ENOUGH!"

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It's even more astounding that she claims she witnessed it first hand. Like, is he just chiiling in downtown Cleveland two weeks into his professional career ordering JaMarcus Russells at the bar?

I had this yesterday when she first said it and the backlash locally was fierce. I asked Seth/Brian if I could post and they requested I not give her any additional publicity.

Overnight it became a national story. She has zero sources, zero evidence and actually admitted at the end she made the whole thing up. He'll, she even accused Joe Thomas, the straightest of straight arrows, of being high all the time.

Speculation locally is that she was allowed to continue on the air with this slander cause the station recently launched a very poorly received paid podcast ($85/yr) and are trying to create content and demand for subscribers.

I can tell you though that the local response has been overwhelming in support of Peppers. If anything this will prolly help solidify the community around him.

Sabrina is not a reporter. She is a lady who was on the show once a week years ago, then moved on for a while, and was brought back again for a once per week gig. That said, she deserved to be fired. She straight up said that Jabrill is a drug addict with nothing to back up her claim. She was just trying to cause drama and it rightfully cost her the "job."

but can she clean a brill fish tank?

The brill, Scophthalmus rhombus, is a species of flatfish in the turbot family (Scophthalmidae) of the order Pleuronectiformes. Brill can be found in the northeast Atlantic, Baltic Sea, and Mediterranean, primarily in deeper offshore waters.

Coincidentally, Jabrill is a turbo and can be found deep in the backfield of AFC offenses.

I love that both Peppers and the Browns called the show and Rizo had to answer for Parr.  Who wants to take the bet that the Browns were not happy with their affiliate radio station going rogue on Peppers?  I may be a pollyanna, but I take Peppers at his word about the diluted sample.  He's shown nothing but character at Michigan.

He did have a couple strange things happen, though. How he injured his hand right before the citrus bowl and I think an ex accused him of something at one point? Add the diluted sample into the equation and you have a few maturity issues that invite this kind of criticism. Not saying it's ok, but it happens when you have a few weird things in your history.

Hopefully that's all in the rear view mirror.

EDIT: Nevermind, this woman is just straight up crazy.

Drugs got way more interesting after I quit using them in the mid to late 1990s. Where were these back then? We just had mediocre weed and unpredictable acid...

This is the same Sabrina Parr that was charged with felonious assault due to "brandishing a trophy across the back of her husbands skull" (former NBA player Antonio Davis)

Allegedly...

Cheated on her man.  He found her extra cell phone and read her text messages. She hits him in the head with a trophy. Tosses his car keys. Locks him out of his home while his children are asleep inside. She leaves him bleeding and in need of medical attention to go meet a friend for dinner.

What a keeper!

The reporter fired was not an ESPN employee. National radio affiliates license ESPN's intellectual property and air some/most of their national radio shows, but are not operated by ESPN.

Public Service Announcement: Molly is not a pure form of MDMA. Molly is a street name for a compound that may include MDMA but can often be adulterated with bath salts. The pure form of MDMA used in therapeutic studies is called MDMA.

Honestly I think she just googled "Drugs that the kids use these days". Because Lean, and Molly... at the same time? That would make no sense.

While there's some smoke to the idea that Browns fans hate the Peppers pick because he played at Michigan, from my POV there's more smoke there than actual fire.  In the NFL, if you can play, you can play.  Browns fans didn't turn on Braylon because he went to Michigan, they turned on him because he dropped everything but his pants after his 1.5 good seasons there and made a royal ass of himself in the process.  Conversely, Steve Everitt was undefeated against Ohio State but will never ever have to buy a beer in Cleveland.

We're talking about PEPPERS.

She sounded like Allen Iverson. Peppers. PEPPERS?! We're talking about PEPPERS. Red, yellow, green, jalapeno PEPPERS.

...lists her profession as personal trainer, life coach... I'd hate to get life coaching tips from her, but if anyone IS interested, she also lists a contact phone number. I'd love to hear the shitstorm of messages she has received in the last 24 hours. Gold, Jerry. Gold!
