Harbaugh tweet
People were saying in a thread the other day that it's weird and almost offensive that Harbaugh hasn't tweeted barely any support for the team during this run.
He tweeted out combine stats during the First Round game which was weird and caught attention from people including myself.
Well, here's this
Outstanding performance by Coach Beilein and @umichbball team! Terrific individual efforts today too. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!
— Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) March 19, 2017
Thanks for the support coach.
Can JB coach football? /s (maybe)
Our Basketball coaches in the 20s used to also be Football assistant coaches.
Bennie Oosterbaan, George Veenker, EJ Mather.
Can't imagine the dudes that were on that baseball team.
Hey, I see ya, Johnny B! (Damn I better up my postseason game!)
People take offense over the strangest things.
Indeed....Harbaugh's love of all things Michigan should never be questioned. Ditto for Beilein's job security, I would have given him a contract for life after the way he handled himself after the crash, but 26-11 this year and the sweet sixteen? I'm all in.
Why do people always have to wallow in the muck of absolutes? Great win? Coach for life!! Heartbreaking loss? Fire Beilein!!
"Great win? Coach for life!! Heartbreaking loss? Fire Beilein!!"
Not me. I have criticized the "fire Beilein" people all along. What Beilein is doing with a clean program in this era is world class. He has earned the chance to retire on his own terms. I hope he is here another ten years. He'll know when it's time to go.
just to upvote this sentiment. What I really dont understand is all the "fire him!!!" people who dont have a better answer. Even when the team was at its lowest point this season (some time in January) could anyone really name a coach who would be appreciably better? I dont remember any suggestions thhat wouldve been more than a lateral move, at best.
What do you mean? Twitter is everything...I don't know how he could be any more insulting than not tweeting! /s
The irrationality in thinking that Harbaugh tweeting out FB media DURING the Men's BB game is somehow disrespectful, is unreal.
During the BB game is when the most UM fans are going to be on and checking twitter, tweeting out the FB info is exactly what UM fans would WANT to see and the MOST LIKELY time that they'll see it.
Get out of your bubble, 98% of UM fans are not on twitter, ever (even students). It's so niche and only utilized by a VERY hardcore and specific type of fan (e.g some. tailgaiters are definitely hardcore yet most will never use twitter a day in their lives).
Seeing it as offensive takes an unreal lack of awareness and perspective.
It sure as hell makes the athletic dept feel more like a community when all the coaches and teams support eachother. Hopefully with Crean out we see Jimmy around more often at the bball games. It can't hurt recruiting either, he's the biggest celebrity Michigan has outside of Tom Brady.
How many tweets did Beilein make about the football team during football season? I have no clue. If he didn't, does it mean that Beilein doesn't support the football team? Of course not. Since Harbaugh has arrived I can't think of any instances that made me question whether the athletic department "felt" like it wasn't a strongly knit community.
I don't know the answer to this, but if he's not active on twitter, of course he wouldn't tweet about the football team.
Harbaugh tweets about a lot of random things so it would be weird if he didn't show support for the bball team, which he clearly does, so no need for anyone to get upset.
I was always a fan of Hoke bringing in recruits for big basketball games. It provides a good snapshot of how excited this fanbase can get for a Michigan team.
fine, I'll scooch over so ol Khaki Pants and get on this bandwagon.
I'm trying to piss of Beilein I know I just ignore him on twitter until he rages
Hard to ignore this......
What's my name!
Or, Down goes Pitino!
For this picture!
Love Jimmy, but feel like his support has been very muted. Atypical of him
This is a totally unfounded rumor that someone told me at a gym in Ann Arbor, with zero source other than, "I've heard," so I never gave it any credence, but the rumor was that Harbaugh was working behind the scenes to get Beilein fired and bring in someone along the lines of Calipari. (So many reasons I cannot believe that ever happened.) But the thing is, if Harbaugh had just been a bit supportive of the basketball team the past two years, would anyone be spreading those rumors?
Yeah, they would. Because people spread dopey rumors mainly for attention, and they're not the type of people to weigh evidence.
Dude, that's clearly not Jim Harbaugh. That's John Calipari wearing a mask. Duh!
Of course that's true. Jim is the reason Red was retained this year as well. And he also tampered with the jet engine before the BTT. Don't tell anyone, but Jim is part of ILLUMINATI!
This your first day on earth?
This your first day on earth?
your dumb ass went ahead and posted it anyway...
It was probably the same dude that Mike Valenti talked to before he started a topic about it on his show. The Sparty envy of our football and now basketball program is in full force.
Fuck you Valenti and RCMB...
Why would people take offense to that? He's obviously been working his ass off. Hitting the recruiting trail hard and obviously monitoring the team during workouts and the spring combine!
Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy.
crazy but true
and not - "We had subs" crazy!
The way I see it..Harbaugh tweets about the B-Ball team and it would be "why can't you let them have their moment, Jim?!". I just think he is laser-focused on football.
I don't tweet, ergo I am not?
And didn't the Harbaughs have a premature baby recently? Was the bball season foremost in his mind? I bet today (unfounded rumor from my imagination) he was sitting in front of the TV feeding the little babe with bottled [whole] milk so Sara could take a break, with the devious plan of making sure the colors and music and cheers of Michigan permeated the developing little brain.
get loaded up before next week.
I'd like to see Harbaugh in the stands going apeshit when a call goes the wrong way.
