My 6 year old daughter is 9-7 and she picked the Ohio-Gtown game right, she doesn't even watch the sport
I'm not the most objective person in the world and it has really hurt me. I mean, this year I have Michigan going all the way so my bracket is already destroyed.
it's safe to say I suck at the brackets. First day and I'm 8-8 and already out of the office pool and there is no chance of making a rebound after today considering I had Georgetown going to the elite 8 and UTEP, Marquette and N.D. in the Sweet 16.
Dammitt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the first day winner is rarely the final winner. Did anyone watch Texas in OT? Wow, did they blow that game.
F.U.
Sincerely,
Bosch
(It's safe to say that I'm not winning a t-shirt)
I'm 9 out of 16 now. At least I haven't lost anyone from my Elite 8.
LOL Big East. Losing to two 11's and a 13. And coming thisfuckingclose to losing to a 15. Too bad I had Georgetown and Marquette in the Sweet 16. Is it bad that I also have Syracuse and WVU in my Final Four? Yes, probably.
Can still do pretty well in the office pool but I need Siena to take care of business today.
I'm 8/16, but I've only lost Georgetown and Marquette in my $$ bracket that doesn't count points until the sweet 16. It just means that I'll get no points from those (low ranked) spots.
First day of games is usual brutal for me since there's a lot of teams that were great in their divisions playing against teams that were meh in the major divisions (I'm looking at you G'town, Marquette, and Texas). By second game in a region, the pretenders are gone and I do much better.
Right now my bracket doesn't look very good but I've realized the last few years that it doesn't really matter how you do in the first round as long as you keep at least 3 of 4 of your final four teams in. I've gone perfect on the first day before and still lost the pool because the second round killed me. It's all about the final 4 and championship game.

Depends on what the others have picked for their final four. If your brackets are similar enough, the first two rounds act as a tiebreaker in many cases. I've had a good final four before, but finished in 2nd place because my coworker picked an almost identical final four.

The Ohio win screwed it up, but I did pick Middle Tenn. State. I'm happy the Gators lost as well.

I can't believe G-Town and Marquette, they dissapointed me. If Nova would've lost, that would've killed my South bracket.....

I had SDSU (so close), Vandy, and Notre Dame in the sweet 16. Whoops!
Despite those train wrecks, I still have a lot of potential points compared to the leaders so at least I'm not dead yet.
I have almost all favorites today, hopefully order is restored.

My only big loss was Georgetown........had them winning a few games.

When you got something riding on these games, it gets pretty intense! For a short while there I was a Murray St. Racer; I was at the gym watching the end of it and I almost leaped off the eliptical when the last second shot went it. I was real happy for them. I think that's why I was so bummed when our team got beat by the Buckeyes, we missed a chance to experience that joy.
If Georgetown and Marquette hadn't lost, I'd be looking solid...not bad so far though.
Epically bad.
Cornell beating Temple causes the first red marks on the bracket. Guess I can't really complain.
When I was younger and didn't take filling out a bracket so seriously I always seemed to be in the top 20% or so. The last two years I've looked at Sagarin, Kenpom, coaches' PACE ratings, everything and I'm headed for bottom 10% for a second straight year.
had them in the e8 and had utep going s16. outside of that: texas, vandy, nd, richmond, florida. im 7-0 today. much better. need texas atm not to blow it against utah state to feel better. im rather pleased that i picked wash over marquette, always felt that marq was a tad bit overrated and wash was too talented. got wash going to s16. course....i DO have louisville going to e8 so today MIGHT be a terrible day for me if they end up losing.
