Things that MUST happen for Michigan to have a shot at the CFP:

1. Must be ranked #5 in Tuesday's CFP Rankings.

2. Colorado beats Washington and/or Virginia Tech beats Clemson.

3. CFP commitee value our head-to-head results over PSU and Wisconsin above being a conference champion.

I just wrote a huge diary post summing up all the possible scenarios, and yes, this is probably accurate. I think we need Wisconsin to beat Penn State as well due to the optics of leaving out the B1G Champion over 2 teams they finished above in their division.

disagree here.  We beat Penn State by 40 points and Wisconsin has a very influential member of the committee as their athletic director.  Penn State also lost to unranked Pitt at home.  All things being equal, I think we want to be battling with PSU for that spot.  Penn State also comes with some baggage folks, the kind of baggage the CFP may not want to hear about for a month before the games.

I believe committee members are required to recuse themselves if their school is under discussion. Now if Michigan is under discussion, who knows if Alvarez is allowed to be in the room. He shouldn't be, but who knows.

I am sure his editor made him justify the written words with a full analysis of the play and justification of his opinion. Kind of wacky, but that someone other than a UM fan/coach/media would go that far out on a limb caries some weight. Makes you feel like there is a voice of reason and validation of #spotgate. CFP committee members will watch the Spot replay and I am sure come to their own conclusion. I think most will come away with at least the following observation ... Michigan has one of the top 2 defenses in the nation that generally stuffed the high-flying Buckeyes offense in their house only to be denied by an official's judgement call that looked hasty and home-field biased. These voters I am sure have been screwed by the same thing a number of times in their athletic careers. Can that overcome the politics of not including the B1G title champ not make the CFP playoffs? Dubious, we would need to have complete chaos to get there ... Washington and Wisconsin both go down and the voters rewatch the PSU vs UM game film and factor in that Speight will be fully healthy for the playoffs.

Apparently he is not going to accept the results of the vote either.

;) jk  couldnt resist one little joke

Perhaps it is time for some Michigan fan to start a Change.org petition to get Michigan in to the playoff.

Plus, think of the TV revenue for a Saban vs Harbaugh show-down in round 1 !!!

I posted on another board yesterday that I'd do the exact same thing and was laughed at. I was told "that's not how things work". Well then it's time to change shit up. I can't imagine any neutral observer thinking osu is the better team after watching that entire game. They were not better than us at any one thing except catching easy INTs and missing easy FGs.

He has posted an update walking back his descision, the Buckeye mafia got to him just like the refs! From his update: "My error was in not having a greater appreciation for the well-trained game officials who spotted the gain and confirmed the call on the field. For that I apologize and confirm that I respect the decision of those officials and the outcome of the game." WEll-TRAINED??? WTF MATE??

the B1G should release the same video evidence to the public with a full explanation from the league. If that is not possible, then convince Harbaugh with the same video evidence given to Mr Murphy and he can then tell us all the truth. The B1G really needs to come clean on this one and have Harbaugh's buy-in from the film review.
