Speight is our QB

Speight has been given the keys to the car. As many of you already know, I have been a staunch supporter of JO'K and have a personal bias for reasons that I won't go into here. Anyway, I have it in writing from a respected writer in the business. I will release that next Saturday and give him full credit. Bottom line, Wilton has earned it and he will be our QB. I have a ton of respect for the way he has earned the right to lead this team! Go blue!

...but it's not the claim. It's how it's presented. Just say "I just found out from a player or a coach or a admin with the program that Speight has been named the starter. Unfortunately I can't share a name so you have to take my word or not...but it's true. But it's up to you whether or not you want to believe it." From there you can mention other things you've been right on or how you're connected to the source without mentioning the source. For me that would go like "I work in college athletics, and a trainer used to work on our staff and is now at Michigan." At least it's something. I've said a version of this plenty of times. Back in the day I knew an athletic trainer who'd share things every now and again. Once I know a manager. Now I know an athletics administrator and an administrator on the sports medicine side. I'd never share their names...but I'd leave it up to the board whether or not to believe what I've shared. I guess it's just the way this is presented that gives some of us a bad taste in our mouths...even if its true. Which I kinda believe it is.

I believe the guy...I'm just saying you have to bring a little more when you're talking about THIS topic. We're not talking about an inside scoop on the color socks we wear. We're talking about something that will be clickbait for the entire board. If youre going to through it out there...on something so big. You have to bring more background on a topic every M fan in the world is interested in

Providing the detail you want would have burned his source and therefore lose this valuable content. If you trust OP has a source why does he have to provide his bona fides or additional corroboration about this nugget, why can't you accept it as true? If OKorn is named starter for Saturday, OP will lose his credibility.

Brian posted that this guy was credible, you could have saved yourself a lot of embarrassment.

It's amazing to me that with how much time you spend on here, you don't realize this guy knows what he's talking about. Instead you choose the childish whining because he has information you don't. Well done.

 

The key moments were at I believe 10:59 when Brian said he was credible. Then at 11:06 the OP posted he would send it to Brian followed by silence from Brian, meaining he didn't contradict the post.

 

Meanwhile Mr. Yost continues his childish rant.

I could see how revealing even that much info could be too risky in the eyes of the poster. Apparently this guy's track record speaks for itself, so if he doesn't feel the need to go out of his way to present the information in a particular way, well, that's our problem and not his.

FWIW he's posted this same thing on other boards as well. I thought he would have copy pasted but he didn't so maybe he kept it short and sweet for a board on a free blog. From everything I've seen on here and other boards he's legit. Thanks for the info OP.

You're trolling and that's coming from someone who inadvertently trolled this whole thread. Because I'm not an insider nor do claim to be. This would only make sense if I was notorious for trying to post scoops. I post depth charts over and over...that's about it. I'm happy that I get to update it again actually. We can have a civil convo and disagree without you trolling...in fact I've done just that with 2-3 posters in this thread alone.

Look, you made a post attacking the OP, seems lIke you didn't know he was a Guy. You said it was bullshit, then you said the way it was presented was bullshit. When you described how you would like it presented, it was exactly how the OP has it. And then you wouldn't let it go (I mean really, really wouldn't let it go) and went off on odd tangents. The latter are hallmarks of being wound too tight on this, something else going on. That's pretty obvious. See Carlos Spicyweiner's edit up there? That's what you do when you realize you're wrong. It's a message board, it's not a big deal.

He's been right on a number of things...which is why I said I believe it. You did as well. But we frequent the board (clearly) to know that he's popped up in other threads to prove that he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Others are not MGoObsessed like us. And when you are proclaiming something as big as the starting QB. You have to state your credentials or your connection to your source. Hell, even provide some links back to times where you've been right. But to give nothing. "That's some shameful shit" as my man Clay Davis would say.

I guess I'm comfortable with it because:
A). Brian jumped in right away
B). He offered to provide proof to Brian and Seth (I'm assuming he has already done this).

I don't think either one happens if something untoward was happening. Everyone wants inside I do, but then tries to poke a million holes in it, or resort to personal attacks. In terms of inside info, this was handled better than the vast majority. Perfect? No, but I don't think it ever is.

I suppose everyone can't screen cap email like WD to help take down an AD...sigh, one can dream. But no, I hear you. Even tho Miggles seems to think I'm not listening to anyone. I would've just liked to see a reason in the OP as to why he's credible since he's not Sam or Lorenz or Brian. (And maybe that needs a "yet." I took the OP of relying too much on people knowing who he is...and not enough why we should believe. Very few folks visit as much as I do to know who he is.
