UM @ Iowa will be a night game
Assumed UM-Iowa would be a night game Nov. 12. FYI -- average night time low 31 (according to US climate data) brrrr https://t.co/6J02OTOmRd

Anyway, on night games, probably going to hear late this week or early next.

2007: Minnesota 27-21
2010: Kansas 6-3
2011: Minnesota 37-24
2012: Colorado State 22-7
2013: KSU 24-21
2014: Iowa State 34-14
NDSU also won 5 straight NCs. Yes, they lost Carson Wentz to the NFL (graduation), but they were unbeaten when Wentz was out for most of the season. They'll be fine.
otherwise tickets for that game will be obscenely high-priced. And that's the one road game I was hoping to make this fall.
Just checked Stubhub prices for that game, only 2 sellers offering seats under $157/seat. The vast majority of available tickets for that game are well in excess of $200. Some early conference losses by Iowa would quickly burst that price bubble.
No one is going to list a ticket this early who isn't hoping to make a big profit. Prices will surely drop closer to the game just because more people will decide not to go and try to recover some of their investment.

So I guess Iowa is our new rival??? Boy, I'm going to miss all those great rivalary games we had with Illinois.

but it would be nice if we could beat them in Iowa City, like, ever.
Hey the Lions won in Green Bay, so anything is possible.
Yes, it's an 11 year drought (2005), but only three games have been played at Iowa in that span.
Last 20 years:
97 - win
98 - win
01 - win
03 - loss
05 - win
09 - loss
11 - loss
13 - loss
the first three wins were QB'd by (in order) Brian Griese, Tom Brady, and Drew Henson.
We've only won there once since.

Yeah, really not that bad of a streak.
We were horrible in 2009.
In 2013 we were pretty bad and also still totally gave the game away.
2011 was really the only game where it was a major upset that we didn't win.

Good! Wish there more!

WD has been afraid of his closet after dark since he saw "Monsters, Inc."
I doubt it, I am sure he has the MDen VIP Speed pass and goes right to the front with no waiting.

I'm so happy there aren't gonna be any home night games this year.

It's stuff like this. You complain about being picked on around here but you keep doing things like beating this drum which you know is an unpopular opinion that you're laying out again just to get a rise out of people.
You can keep doing that, but then don't complain about people picking on you when you're knowingly being an agitator. There's disagreeing with people and there's this.

Well, if it turns out that it is a night game, the best we may be able to hope for is one of those mid-autumns where it is unusually mild and only gets down into the low 40s at night in the early half of November. Otherwise, it ends up being one of those games where three hours seems like three weeks thanks to the weather. I am sure we've all been to at least one of those in our lifetime.

Horrible flashbacks to our last night game at Iowa.
Hopefully the defense doesn't give up a hundred different 3rd & longs again. Try to actually stay in the same time zone as the Iowa receivers.
To be fair to the defense, they were put in a lot of bad spots that day. The offense couldn't do diddly poo and consistently went three and out.
The defense had to be gassed by the start of the 4th quarter because our offense couldn't keep them off the field to rest for more than 3-4 minutes at a time.
You are referring to events that happened in 2009. 2009.
I think this year's defense will be a little better.
