Getting springish drinking thread
The weather is unseasonally warm here in the DMV and I'm downing a couple Lagunitas Citrusinensis(es). I really like it. It is the first beer I've sampled that has a lemon-lime-blood orange taste going on, and it is quite good. I guess this is a special one-time only brew, so I'd recommend grabbing some if you see it.
Also, thanks to those who helped me out with grill recommendations. Based on an overwhelming proportion of positive reviews from the board about Weber grills, that is what I went with. One of their smaller gas models to be exact. Tried it out tonight, was a dream. (Putting it together was a longer endeavor, but that only happens once.)
Spring is quickly poking its head out in southeastern Michigan. Indeed, we took the kids to the Toledo Zoo today (Ohio, I know....), which made following the game today an interesting experience indeed, although I somehow managed as I hung out close to structures with leaky wi-fi connections, if you will. It was a very nice day to be outside, which is more than the forecast says about tomorrow sadly.
For the moment, it's the Big 12 Conference Championship game on the TV here and I am waching others drink wine.
This game has been good from start to finish. Love the way WVU plays on the defensive end, makes the game exciting. I think they can make some real noise in the tournament.

IBC Root Beer
Poodle Dog Cabernet Sauvignon.
It's pretty warm here in NC, so earlier I had some cold Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, which is basically a Chardonnay blend. Very refreshing.

you had given it up for Lent?

I gave up alcohol for Lent a number of years ago. I made it, but the experience did not motivate me to repeat it!

Chimney Sweep. A Schwarzbier; I don't think many of them are made in the US. A nice smoky taste to it. I couldn't drink it frequently, but I like to have one now and again.
Did a tour at Ugly Dog Distillery in Chelsea today, so I'm enjoying some of their spiced rum tonight.

It was alright. The guy leading the "tour" (everything is basically in one room) was great. He was super knowledgable, friendly, very receptive to questions, and great at explaining things, but the small size of the place and the lack of an opportunity to taste before buying (he explained that the city would not let him have a tasting room without paying them $$$) was kind of a bummer.
Overall we had a good time though and learned a lot about everything that goes into making booze.
Also, if anyone want to send me some KBS I've got some extra jester king laying around that you might enjoy!

Perfect weather from 11:00 am till sundown, I have not wore a t-shirt outdoors in a long time. Next to no wind, discs were flying as straight as you could throw them, so that was fun.. Unfortunately missed the Purdue loss goofin, occasionally taking a peak at the score of the game. We don't get days like yesterday very often "weather wise" I should add. If you missed yesterdays weather I feel for you. Gods do not make days like that very often, anywhere. Yesterday we had the best weather in the country. Suck on that SEC.

and I should edit my previous thread by saying Brian stole my thunder by casually mentioning he is in Hawaii. Thanx Brian, but at least we had the second best weather in the country yesterday. So we were still number one in the lower 48. So the SEC can continue to sweat their beer bellys off.
