Texas Tech QB Davis Webb transferring to Colorado

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Texas Tech grad QB Davis Webb is transferring to Colorado. One item in this I did not know is that Colorado QB Sefe Liufau is expected to miss the 2016 season with a Lisfranc injury. Michigan plays Colorado in Week 3 this year.

There was a thread about him potentially coming to Michigan. Never heard anything but message board speculation, but regardless...he's probably an upgrade at the position.

That said, that TEAM is awful, it wasn't just the QB. Give the Buffs one more TD than before.

41-7.

I was overreacting.

I should've put the /s in there...but I figured making a prediction in January was sarcasm enough. Especially when it reads as if I thought we'd win 41-0 and this give them 7.

I'll do better next time, but you shouldn't get so offended.

He has thrown for over 5000 yards and 46 TD's compared to 22 INT's in his career. Colorado lost five games this year by a TD or less. This should make next year's tilt at least a competitive Big Ten vs. Pac 12 matchup.

Colorado might be decent next year, but as long as the QB situation for UM isn't a disaster, Colorado isn't coming here and hanging with UM for 60 minutes.  With the exception of a few games, with what UM has returning I'm looking for them to be taking most teams to the woodshed next year (and Colorado is not one of the exceptions).

CU is not a good football team. 1-8 in conference last year (lone win vs Oregon State) with a .426 over all W/L % vs Pac 12 conference opponents. Even though their transfer might be a great player, they are not a team who does well with transition or adversity. And don't say how close their games were last year. Then you just sound like a lions fan. Also weren't they supposed to have a transfer QB from Tennessee who declared the switch and then went back to Tennessee after recognizing what he actually did? This will not be a competitive match up, at least right now on paper. In fact, i think they are the weakest team in their division.

Harbaugh should make sure the team looks at the old Colorado Hail Mary at the Big House a couple hundred times just to make sure they are sufficiently motivated.

I did not know that Liufau was out for 2016, either.  Davis Webb should win that job.  MacIntyre is a good coach and has been building Colorado back up slowly.  Michigan will have to show up mentally and emotionally to beat them.

Webb is a good QB, but he's got a bit of a loose cannon for an arm; he can kill you downfield but put some pressure on him and he'll throw into coverage consistently.  I should know; he was my fantasy QB starter for half a year before he was replaced in 2015.

That said, he's going to be a challenge for UM's defense, and Colorado is a better team than people are giving them credit.  They lost a lot of close-ish games (by 8 points to Hawaii, 7 to Arizona, 4 to UCLA, 3 to USC, 6 to Utah).  It won't be a roll-over.

No opponent should be taken lightly and every good/focused coach will thoroughly prepare for every game but if we don't beat Colorado by 14+ I'll be shocked.
