This is an event for Michigan commits, their families, the coaches, and the whole Michigan brotherhood.
We don't need any more of Holthz's commentary on how great Notre Dame is. Not this day.
Invite him back when we get Notre Dame on the schedule. I'll appreciate his lisp more when explaining why ND is losing, and half-hearted hack comments on how ND will come back to win it.

Maybe they're trying to build a bridge to getting that game back.
January 27th, 2016 at 12:53 AM ^
This is a great way to troll Notre Dame, especially considering that Michigan competes with ND a lot for recruits.

everyone forgets that almost every program he worked at ended up on probation. Guess he perfected his craft at Notre Dame.

right Rocky?

I just don't understand it.........
Hopefully this offends ND fans. That'd be great.

great coaches and set aside the opinion about his ESPN days the man was a heck of a ball coach. ND was one tough team to beat back in the day when Lou was there, many here may be too young to remember how tough and epic those games were
January 26th, 2016 at 8:45 PM ^
I think that's the guy with a face full of ND fist. Trying to think who the QB was that year.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:50 PM ^
As far as I know the only Michigan player to come out of Cape Cod.
January 26th, 2016 at 11:48 PM ^
Never understood why Ohio, SC and ND always had them as far back as I can remember. Well Ohio has grey as a main color but yeah, they all three can keep sucking.

That's fitting then, because Holtz himself makes no sense
January 26th, 2016 at 8:03 PM ^
I can't actually understand Lou Holtz.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:20 PM ^
I like him too. He said once, you can tell which team will win just by how they run out onto the field for the start of the game so I always pay attention to that and..he's right, you can see it.

Shining of the Sharts
January 26th, 2016 at 7:52 PM ^
Seriously. They should make him hit the mic and say it five times fast.

/wave of spit flows out auditorium doors
January 26th, 2016 at 7:50 PM ^
This kind of makes me not want to go. Who will be announced next, Nardwuar? Gallager 2? Balloon Boy hoax kid?
January 26th, 2016 at 7:55 PM ^
Josh Groban?

They're having a guy there who these kids grew up watching on ESPN? How could they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 26th, 2016 at 7:54 PM ^
You are forgetting/overlooking the fact that he coached at ND, still gushes about ND every chance he gets, picks ND to win the national championship every year, etc.
There are football guys on TV all the time from UM (Eisen, Desmond off the top of my head) or there are just tons of other football guys these kids see on TV (if that's what's important here) who aren't affiliated with a main rival.
January 26th, 2016 at 7:58 PM ^
(A) What makes you think those guys won't be there (B) It's hard to maintain a rivalry when we're not playing anymore (don't get me wrong, I still have burning hate in my heart for ND, but a lot of high schoolers may not perceive it as a big thing). It's not like they have Galloway or Herbstreit there.

Yeah, because it's totally forseeable that he will be hyping up Notre Dame at an event that Michigan will be paying him to attend.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:09 PM ^
So you have seen Holtz before.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:09 PM ^
So you have seen Holtz before.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:35 PM ^
Yes, I've met him. And he's going to be enterntaining as hell. His inclusion should be seen as nothing but a plus.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:55 PM ^
I don't think anyone here will argure that the guy can't keep a crowd's interest but inviting a blatant ND homer to this event is puzzling.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:14 PM ^
Are YOU forgetting they are still employed by ESPN? Nobody that is actively working in sports media will be allowed by their employers to be used by Michigan. I believe that is called "conflict of interest." It's one thing to cover an event, it an entirely different matter to be part of the event.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:22 PM ^
Great then. I guess that opens the potential guest list up a bit... Michigan guys who aren't actively employed by sports media. Any of those people. Literally any of them.
Tom Brady? Yes.
James Earl Jones? Yes.
Literally anybody else from James Earl Jones to Tom Brady? OKAY!
But Lou Fucking Holtz? I still don't get it.
January 26th, 2016 at 8:27 PM ^
Maybe Keith Jackson wasn't available.
