Michigan versus Indiana - open thread
Go Blue, ladies and gentlemen. My predicted score in the guess the score game was 27-6 Michigan, but I think Indiana will score a little more than that. I also think Michigan will score a little more than 27. Revised prediction: 31 M, 20 I.
Also, it looks like rumors from yesterday about Green and Isaac are true, as they are not playing (or it might be that they didn't even make the trip). I am unsure, though, as I'm just stating what I saw on Twitter.

Part of why this is so close is that IU is negating our best offensive weapons: kick and punt returns. Jabrill has 1 touch this game I think.

Because we all got suuuper spoiled after the Northwestern game. The expectation level for the D at this point is basically 3 and out or YOU SUCK.
I'm a bit freaked out because if the offense stalls, the D isn't looking to reliable to hold up if it comes to it. Not far enough ahead yet

He is UM's best DL. His absence obviously is going to cause problems.
November 14th, 2015 at 5:33 PM ^
We might be freaking out because "they have the best offense in the big ten and we are without 3 starters on d". You answered your own question.

This is a road game and Indiana offense is legit. Sudfeld is a good QB. They wouldn't have scored the last TD if not for that bad PI call on 3rd down, but they didn't call that against Indiana on the last drive.
So, I will take it given we don't are missing one of our best DL.
We are definitely the better team. Some stupid penalties hurt us, but I expect us to clean that up.

Is that our entire LB core is being overhauled next year.

Hate to be that guy, but that sounds like a good thing to me. We need new blood there.

They are average on run defense and are weaknesses in pass coverage. UM needs better athletes at that position.

Let's get jabrill out on the field for our opening drive.

jake playing great
run game horrid 7 carres for 30 yds against 104th ranked rush D

We're outperforming Ohio State by a net of 18 points at this point in the game. People need to stfu/chill the f out.

But it's fine, because for the first time this season, Rudock is making them pay.

making the most predictable comeback ever. 92 yard drive. only down a fg now

Refreshing to not throw in the towel with :47 left in the half. Those are the small things that can turn into big things in close games. What a difference a year and an entire coaching staff make. Hopefully another difference is halftime adjustments, as in, I hope there are adjustments, especially on defense.

Jake Butt = Tony McGee....but taller......and white

that there's a reason we went 5-7 last year and that is primarily the same team. Harbaugh is a better coach than Hoke yeah but that can cover up only so much.
I think some people expect Harbaugh to simply snap his fingers and it's peak Michigan again, That's not how it works.

That included a loss to Louisiana-Monroe. Dantonio went 7-5.Patterson and Briles built their teams into their respective juggernauts.
Meyer inherited a talent-laden club that was recruited by Tressell. Meyer already had loads of talent to work with.

OSU was 6-7 the year before Urban Meyer and 12-0 his first year. Just saying.

How did Tressel do first season at OSU? How did Carroll do first season at USC? Unless the bed is made, you see *improvement* but you don't generally turn a non-bowl team into a Rose Bowl team overnight unless you get really really lucky. Michigan was pretty dysfunctional last year. Have people forgotten how embarrassing the Utah game or the Minnesota game were last year?
Michigan is already 2 wins better than it was last year and could add more. 8-9 wins even would be a really good first year.
November 14th, 2015 at 5:37 PM ^
So we have an ugly half against IU (still leading by 8) and you're throwing in the towel on the season? Sounds good.
November 14th, 2015 at 5:47 PM ^
calling for realism here. People seemed to think we'd beat the guys 56-10 or something because MICHIGAN.
Indiana isn't a bad team, really solid offense and their D isn't good but it's not like OSU scored 70 on them either.
November 14th, 2015 at 11:08 PM ^
Anyone who thought that hasn't been paying attention. Michigan has been awful on the road this year. Our games were:
-Loss at Utah
-Easy win at Maryland after struggling to go up 6-0 at half
-Nail-biter at Minnesota
-Nail-biter today
For whatever reason, this team cannot get focused on the road. The number of penalties clearly showed that today. I wish Harbaugh knew how to fix that. Luckily we only have 1 loss despite the struggles.
November 14th, 2015 at 5:39 PM ^
They still have some significant flaws. Hoke's recruiting did okay along the front four and at DB. But the linebackers are pretty average and Michigan does not have an elite edge rusher. The safeties could also stand to be improved as well

Isn't just typical that Michigan finally hit some big passing plays, and it comes in a game where it almost hurts us. I'd love for some slow methodical 7 minute offensive drives in the second half. We need to choke the life out of this game Wisconsin basketball style.

The only time we pressured their QB was on a screen pass where they scored their TD.
Their OL is doing very well. Too well.

Come out at half time and scoring a TD will go a LONG way to winning this game.
Nice lead at half, but Indiana's offense is playing out of their freaking minds. Keep the pressure on, and we NEED to get some defensive stops.
