Top rugby players have tried to play in the NFL and they really haven't made much impact at all. So yeah there is lots of debate. The NCAA and NFL are full of guys who run track.. rugby not so much.

My main point is overall athletic ability. Football has a ton of lineman nowhere near this level and a lot of guys that are just plain fast and can get away with that (largely a result of the structure and rules of our game). And I love football.

Pelini is a good coach. He was as good as Nebraska could've hoped for during a transition from Big 12 to Big Ten. He will land at South Carolina or Illinois I think.

Firing him was one thing; they seemed stuck at the 9-4 level, and Pelini was a hard guy to deal with. But hiring a coach on the downside of his career, who could never do any better than 9-4 in the first place, made absolutely no sense.

Not to mention a coach who tries to make a solid dual threat QB an air-it-out WC offense pass the ball all over the field type. Reminds me of a certain coach M fans are familiar with except without the defensive upside.

I understand that the officials on the field miss things. The game is fast. But the rate at which the replay officials completely whiff on calls is amazing to me. In what universe was the auburn QBs elbow down before the ball was out? That was obvious. And the call on the field was confirmed? 7 points just stolen from Ole Miss.

These last 5-6 weeks of football are going to be so much more enjoyable now that Michigan is doing well. I love that so many games can have an impact on where M ends up.

I do think Nebraska wins one game this year that they shouldn't, just because they've had so much bad luck that they're bound to have at least one game go right, but MSU probably won't be it.

I'm just waiting for MSU to (hopefully) lose to OSU and then get horridly exposed in a bowl game by maybe Bama. It's unbelievable how many things have bounced their way this season. Unbelievable streak of pure dumb luck.

That one I understood. it was more like a soccer counter. The entire Oz team was down at the other end trying to score a try to come back. They gave up the ball at the equivalent of their own one yard line to NZ for a "counter goal" or "pick 6" . . . choose your analogy.
