Playoffs?! You talking about playoffs?!?
Now that we're three weeks into the season, and conference play is on the horizon, let's discuss the playoffs. Is it too early? Sure. But that hasn't stopped anyone before.
So here's the question:
Which currently undefeated teams would you like to see in the college football playoffs? Since 3 of our most hated teams are in, near, around, and next to the current top 4, which 4 would you prefer to see make the field for this years playoffs?
The 4 I would like to see make the field:
1. LSU (SEC) : LSU and Les Miles has always been one of my favorite teams to root for. Been a fan since "The Bluegrass Miracle" hail mary in 2002 against Kentucky. I love their team this year. A once in a half century RB, a stellar defense, and a crazy head coach. What's not to love?
2. Oklahoma (Big-12): Always been a fan of Bob Stoops. He's had great success at OU, has 1 championship under his belt, and it'd be nice to see him and the Sooners back in the spotlight after a rough couple years (rough for OU standards).
3. Arizona (Pac-12): Why not? (ducks and runs for cover)
4. Clemson (ACC): Another team with a dynamic offense. They are fun to watch, and the lesser of the remaining evils.
LSU vs Oklahoma in the Championship, with LSU taking it home. Yeah yeah SEC, but who cares. I'd like to see Les get another.

You do understand that ND and an ACC champion could make it into the playoff, yes?

Look at Northwestern...they don't get either MSU or OSU.

If MSU's schedule is a joke, then what is UofM's?? A comedy feature? UofM SOS ranks below MSU's on the NCAA site and Sagarin's.

Nobody is suggesting that UM is going to make the playoofs. The discussion is about MSU's chances at making it. And strength of competition is part of what gets looked at.

Of course you cleverly left out that MSU has 3 of their 4 toughest conference games on the road. (Mich road, Nebraska road, Ohio State road, Penn State home, and PSU might be the weakest team of the 4)

The schedule where they leave the state of Michigan once until Nov 1? And that once is vs rutgers.
Yes brutal.

Someone needs to give the ill-informed a dose of reality and solid alternatives as opposed to just reading nonsensical fluff.
I expect silly retorts from the brain dead.

UCLA - I would say Arizona but the posts on this board would make my head explode. Also seems as though Morris is the new RR on this board.
Georgia - I guess an SEC team has to get in.
Northwestern - To win it all.

TCU D is weaker than last year so I have worries about them. They have not looked good.
Oklahoma wont beat both TCU and Baylor
Baylor is still TBD -their schedule has been so patsy thus far
We need 1 of these teams to have only 1 loss to avoid a nightmare scenario. I think the Pac 12 teams will beat each other up since there is alot of depth there so there will be a 2 loss champion.
So that might leave ACC, Big 10, SEC, and Big 12. But the Big 12 have a few mid range teams whose offenses can score a lot (OK State) to upset top teams (something the Big 10 lacks) to create a 2 loss champion in the conf. Thus opening the door for an undefeated OSU and 1 loss MSU to advance.
MSU has had an annoying habit of not dropping a game to a sad sack team since 2012; I hope that happens this year at some point.
At this point I might have to root for ND to have 1 loss only to kick out MSU. I am impressed they handled GA Tech with a backup QB. Must be nice. I guess I'll also root for an undefeated Georgia to lose a close SEC championship game to allow 2 SEC teams in. Anything to avoid the nightmare scenario. It is amazing MSU and OSU are basically going to be playing bye week after bye week almost this entire year since this conf sucks. (and UM and PSU are not doing their share)

That being said, I doubt that happens.
My guess:
OSU - they look sloppy now, but like last year, they will be lethal by season's end.
Ole Miss - they're the real deal, and the biggest remaining threat they have, LSU, they get at home. They could absolutely dethrone OSU. Anyone who beats Saban two years in a row gets the nod in my book.
Oklahoma - I don't trust either Baylor or TCU, and this is that one year out of every few years where no one expects anything from them, and Stoops comes up big.
Notre Dame - if they get past that Clemson game, the rest of their schedule is incredibly manageable. I'm banking on Clemson thoroughly Clemsoning that game. Regardless of their injuries, ND keeps playing well.
Thought about UCLA, but a true freshman QB is not ready to put a team on his back like that. Maybe next year. And then Georgia typically has 1-2 games a year they just piss away against a team they should stomp. If they can get past Alabama and Tennessee, then I could see it.

We all know that an SEC lose is worth 1.5 big ten wins.
September 21st, 2015 at 10:11 PM ^
Obviously don't want to see OSU/MSU make it so here's my realistic Top 4:
1.LSU
2.Oklahoma
3.Oregon (because, let's be honest, the idea that they'll get in over a 2-loss State team would be hilarious)
4.Clemson
Don't care if the Big 10 gets left out because you never want your rivals to win anything.

I think LSU will be in it for sure.
September 22nd, 2015 at 2:30 AM ^
will probably lose to Alabama, though I hope they won't. If Alabama or Ole Miss beat Georgia in the SEC championship game, they're in, even with 2 loses. If the B1G champion has only 1 loss they're in. I'm not sure how OU will last against TCU and Baylor. IF UCLA wins the PAC 12 with only 1 loss then they're in. I could one of the following teams getting in as well Clemson, GA, ND.
PAC12 champ - UCLA
SEC-Champ - LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, GA?
B1G champ.
An Undefeated or 1 loss ACC champion? Or an one loss at large team?
The playoffs need to be expanded to 8 teams to get all major conference championship teams in. The Big 12 may be left out again or some other very good team.
My guess:
1.) OSU
2.) Ole Miss
3.) UCLA
4.) Clemson.

Oklahoma
UCLA
Ole Miss
Ohio State

anyone stating they would "prefer" Ohio State in the playoffs - umm, fuck you guys.
The question was who would you "prefer" not who do you "think".
So, I would "prefer":
1. TCU
2. Ole Miss
3. Michigan
4. UCLA

No mention of undefeated Slippery Rock?
I am shocked!
