No Michigan depth chart for Utah (updated)
So much Harbaugh:
Breaking news from UM ---- Utah game notes are out and......NO depth chart!!!!!
— angelique (@chengelis) August 27, 2015
Similar stuff happened at his previous stops, like at the beginning of the 49ers 2013 season:
Are we going to see a lot of ‘or's' on the depth chart?
"The depth chart is not a painstaking thing that I go fill out. That's, [director of public relations] Bob Lange fills out the depth chart. So I wouldn't read, nothing against Bob, it's not. Understand I wouldn't read too much into it. It's not a painstaking process to fill out the depth chart."
UPDATE: Depth chart will be released Monday, when Utah releases theirs:
Harbaugh says Utah will be sending official depth chart Monday, we will send our official depth chart on Monday

He should just release one that says...
QB:
1. Jake Rudock or Shane Morris or Alex Malzone or Zach Gentry or Wilton Speight
2. Jim Harbaugh
And do that for every position.
August 27th, 2015 at 1:08 PM ^
Do it alphabetically, based on middle initial.

As much as we might hate it collectively I think this is fantastic. Nothing to gain by letting Utah know who is playing and everything to lose.
We'll find out the same time the Ute's find out.

Although actually maybe NOT having a depth chart makes for a more interesting story.

how different is it for the defense to prep for a righty vs. lefty? Obviously their skillsets are diferent (cannon vs. completion) but does the added challenege of which they roll out, etc make a huge game planning difference that can be used to our advantage?
August 27th, 2015 at 12:36 PM ^
I think can of quickly off the top of my head is if you blitz packages that you want to use to come from the QB's blind side.
August 27th, 2015 at 12:44 PM ^
Couldnt agree more. I think we can all agree this will be the major hurdle of the non-conference sechedule. We win this and and we could enter BIG undefeated need every advantage.
Keep em guessing.

They are going to be shocked when they find out that George Morales still has eligibility and is going to be a starter at long snapper.
August 27th, 2015 at 12:26 PM ^
I have no problem with it. I'm down for the 3rd.

of value-added activities over anything that's just for appearance (e.g. pants selection).
The depth chart doesn't contribute to wins/losses. Harbaugh spends his time on stuff that does.
Let someone else handle appearances.
August 27th, 2015 at 11:42 AM ^
Eh, we don't need it. Is it that big of a deal? We will see who is playing come Thursday.

I have the distinct feeling that all this secrecy is going to give us a significant advantage going into that game. We just might pound the shit out of them.

I like good, competitive games when Michigan isn't involved.
When we're playing, I'm fine just demolishing the other team.
August 27th, 2015 at 10:14 PM ^
I, too, am also fine with M blowing out the opponent. Indeed.
August 27th, 2015 at 11:49 AM ^
I hope it's like when we played UConn back in 2010 and gave them a right rogering after a lot of confident talk from them and us being confused about what would happen.
August 27th, 2015 at 12:05 PM ^
I'll take that minus the collapse after we started conference play.

"Favorite" in the sense that it gave you a false sense of hope that the next five years would be awesome instead of a COMPLETE FUCKING NIGHTMARE?

Suprise, mother fuckers!
August 27th, 2015 at 11:48 AM ^
Jim Harbaugh's attitude towards things he's "required" to do reminds me of the Chappelle Show "Black Bush" skit and his indiference toward the UN (at 2m 55s):

can hear the little press types bitching and moaning now. "Just release a depth chart. Just do it. It's the bare minimal expectation. Talk to the press, release a depth chart." Fuck em. Fuck em all
