OT: What's your favorite Ann Arbor food item?
I'm joining the fray of irrelevant non-football posts. If you were sentenced to a lifetime of solitary confinement, but the one concession was that you could eat your favorite Ann Arbor food every night for dinner, what would it be? Only one item, like the Bibimbop from Steve's Lunch (the old timers will remember) or the Georgia Reuben from Zingerman's.
In case you didn't know, Le Dog on Liberty closed last year. I believe the Main St location still exists, although I've never been to it. It just seems like it wouldn't be the same as that ol' hole-in-the-wall red stand on Liberty.
Love of Dominick's Pizza is purely nostalgia. I had it while back on a trip a year ago, and it's not much better than a DiGiorno's freezer pizza.
greek deepdish was my favorite pizza in ann arbor. also, loved going there after basketball games where frieder and players would often show up.

..that or a diez y uno breakfast burrito from zingerman's roadshow. i'd say the greg burrito from darcy's cart, but i fear darcy's may now be defunct.

#1) Sherman's Sure Choice
#2) Grizzly Peak - Steak Sandwich
Sherman's Sure Choice was my first, and still all time fav sandwich at Zingermans.
Love the fries at Pizza House.
Chicken quesadilla at Dominick's, washed down with Mason jars of Oberon.
Burgers at Red Hawk.
Charlie's Pepperoni Styx.
Falafel w/ babaganoush wrap at Jerusalem Garden

Fragel?
Bagel Fragel?
I was explaining Fragels to a friend out here in San Diego, and they looked at me like I was a crazy person.
A gyro sandwich from The Parthenon.
Greek American here. The Parthenon was pretty damn good!

BTB chimichangas
The styx and twists at Good Time Charley's are pretty damn delicious.
Izzy's cheesesteak with fries.
Jolly Pumpkin Truffle Fries.
I'll add the Where's Bo at Maize and Blue (think it's #11?). Pastrami, peppers egg and gouda on a sandwich? Are you kidding me?
But way too many choices to narrow it down.
ETA: Breakfast I go with The Big Easy at Northside Grill. Dinner, probably something fried at Zingerman's Roadhouse.
The bread at the Real Seafood Company, skip the meal just eat a couple baskets of the bread.
The bread at real seafood is actually from the Common Grill in Chelsea. And it's even more delicious there, if you can even imagine that.
I'm one who will eat breakfast food any meal of the day. I think I could die a happy man eating Eggs Benedict at Angelo's everyday.
easy
I was wondering that same thing. Went to Angelo's a couple months ago after probably a 5 year hiatus. Food was still good, but it wasn't quite as orgasmic as it has been in the past. I've been going to Angelo's since I was a kid, so it wasn't a nostaigia thing either.
Probably has to do with there being a line out the door everyday, so it's tough to put the same care into making each plate.

BRING ON THE INEVITABLE BLUE TRACTOR NEGS.
While I'm not a huge fan of Blue Tractor, the pickle chips prevent me from saying anything too negative.
Apparently I'm the appetizer guy in this thread.
Breakfast: Devil's Hash Bash special with eggs over medium - The Broken Egg
Lunch: The #2 (Zingerman's Reuben) with an old pickle - Zingerman's Deli
Dinner: Prime Rib - Weber's Restaurant
Dessert / sweet treat: Superman ice cream - Washtenaw Dairy
the milk shakes from pizza bob's were awesome
Good topic.
I'm going to go with the Chipati becuase that's something I really haven't seen anywhere but A2. Some other candidates that I considered: Dave's Open Road (Zingerman's), Count Twists (GTC), the General Tso Chicken from Middle Earth, Hippie Hash (Fleetwood), Spot's Wings, Angelo's mashed potatoes, the cheese bread from (now defunct) Omega Pizza.
Is Le Dog still around? I used to love the Thursday lobster bisque with bread.
Bev's. I think it's closed now.
I seem to recall a bunch of people mourning the closure of Le Dog a while back. Can't remember when that was though.
It used to be unlimited bean burritoes at the Taco Bell off South U at 3am.
Now I would have to go with Pizza House house special Chicago deep dish. Which I only get once every 5 years when I can visit.
The most logical choice given the multitude of options.
crab cheese
How has nobody mentioned Red Hot's? (even the "new" Red Hots is still legit) I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
The new one is still almost as good as the old, but it just got ridiculous with having short hours and ridiculous prices.

Mongolian Beef. Best (Americanized) Chinese dish I have ever had.
