NCAA Tournament - Trimming Down The Elite Eight (Open Thread)
Two teams will make an exit tonight, but for now, you've got:
Wisconsin / Arizona - going right now on TBS. 10-2 Wisconsin with 16:09 to go in the 1st.
Later on:
Notre Dame / Kentucky - that could be intriguing
w/ that agility and handle. 13.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg.
He came to Wiscy as a very athletic 6-7 wing. He's grown to 6-9 and still has the same agility.
No doubt the NBA sees that. This mock NBA draft has him going at #23 in the first round

(Unfortunately, they've got Caris going at #17.)

Poor Damn Arizona.

Well Miller just gave Wisconsin the game by not fouling when down 5 with 50 seconds to go. You can't let them bring the clock down that far when down by 5, Jesus. Then they top it off with a 3 anyway, dumbass.
1) Fuck the committee for putting those two teams in the same region.
2) Wisconsin is literally unbeatable if they make shots like that. Kentucky better hope they cool off.

Kinda wish their fluke half would come against UK instead... You know they're just gonna be 0for30 next game lol.
and they seem to have an extra gear. In crunch time, they just kick it up another notch and just grind you. They did it to us in overtime, to MSU in the B1G tournament, against UNC on Thursday and now to Arizona.
Lucky for us and the rest of the B1G, Kamenski, Jackson, Gasser and Duken are all seniors and hopefully Dekker will head for the NBA.
So... are we rooting for ND here? or UK? or just drinking?

My thoughts precisely. On one hand I wanna see ND get obliterated cause ND- but Kentucky going down would be epic as well
Not a big Notre Dane fan (the hell with Notre Dame), but they are a very well coached team.
w/ Kelly Tripuka, Bill Laimbeer, Orlando Woolridge, Bruce Flowers (from Berkley MI), and Bill Hanzlik in 1979, they just don't iritate me like their football team. (I'm name dropping to show how long it's been since ND basketball has been nationally relevant.)

They also haven't been featured on NBC (the Notredame Broadcasting Company) in spite of years of mediocrity.
I mean, which players do you actually hate? Or go a step further. Until the tourney this year, which Notre Dame basketball players could you actually name from the past 25 years?
It's odd. Mike Brey's basically been a slightly richer man's Amaker throughout his career (he's made the tourney a bunch of times but had only one career Sweet 16 before this year) but this year's ND team has been totally different, downright Beileinesque offensively.
They really do look like Michigan on offense.
Ugh. This is exactly why I hate that guys can foul out in basketball. Auguste is playing well but he's going to sit on the bench for the rest of the half and the whole 2nd half might be affected because of an absolutely awful call for his first foul.
I'm kinda looking forward to a 1 loss Kentucky season.

They're a carbon copy of last year Michigan team. The offense space you out and can hit 3s but can backdoor cut you to death if team runs them off the line.
Godamn it UK. We might be looking at a ND-MSU final four. What a shitty year with an Ohio national championship and all of our big 3 teams missing the tournament.
With Arizona losing, I am officially out of the money* in my brackets. So, go Notre Dame tonight and Wisconsin to win the whole thing.
*Monopoly money
That Jerian Grant kid is legit.
I was wondering before the game if mean-reversion would kick in after Kentucky's destruction of West Virginia.
That had to have inflated the Kentucky players expectations, and must have caused a bit of frustration when Kentucky didn't just steamroll ND at the beginning of the game.
Lol Conan just gave Trey Burke a shoutout in that commercial.

Damn Zach Auguste came to play!

Night not going well:
1) I just thought, what if it is MSU that beats Kentucky to ruin Kentucky's perfect season and win the national championship (at the same time)?
2) Chris Webber - I said, "oh, look, it's Chris Webber." My wife responded, "Timeout! Who is that?" Not cool

This ND team really does remind me of last year's Michigan team.
