Well, this guy thinks his family needs to get a brain, apparently.
I'll take Matt Falcon
He clearly did not get a call from Harbaugh because he thought Moran was a moran. He also stated that Michigan was his leader, and if they got Harbaugh, they would jump in front by a lot. He just wasn;t called.
Whether or not Harbaugh recruited him, this is a huge coup for Illinois to keep the best player in the state from going elsewhere.
According to 247's Composite rankings, he's the #4 player in Illinois behind Josh King (offered by Michigan), Erik Swenson (committed to Michigan), and Sean Foster (who has a fairly unimpressive offer list).
I swear I saw him at #1 on one of the sites, but now that I look at it he's definitely not. Still a pretty good get by the Illini, though, even if I was a little bit lazy with my research.
It doesn't sound like Harbaugh recruiting him much. He was a target of the previous staff.

Animal House is such a classic, seriously it is no doubt the Ben Hur of our era....
That is "Stork" being portrayed by Douglas Kenny. Kenny wrote Animal House and was the primary screenwriter of Caddyshack. If that wasn't enough, he was also the co-founder of National Lampoon. Kenny died after the filming of Caddyshack when he fell / jumped from a cliff in Hawaii.
and Harbaugh didn't do shit. So he committed to Illinois. . . .
Besta luck, Moran.
Other options include:
- Rakeem Boyd
- Carlin Fils-Aime
- Matt Falcon
- Elijah Holyfield
- Kingston Davis
- Robert Washington
Those are all pretty good options.
Boyd will be visiting soon and would be a great addition to the class.
In additional to Illinois, per 247Sports, we had also offered as well as Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Northern Illinois and Syracuse. If the Crystal Ball predictions are any indication, most of the people submitting predictions had gone with Michigan, but even Steve Wiltfong and our own Ace have more recent updates / submissions which indicate Illinois, so between the bulk of the predictions from last summer and recently, something definitely changed.
Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Northern Illinois and Syracuse
Four start ranking, but not many top programs offered him.

I dont know Tevin Coleman's ranking out of HS but he seemed to do ok with an Indiana offer.
Boyd is a few inches taller than Moran.
was looking to get him aboard quickly and I haven't seen that Harbaugh has offered at all. I think Michigan has several RB's in front of him.
Why any decent football player would commit to Illinois is just mind-boggling.
The RIVALRY just got more serious!
There are a lot of other fish in the pond for Harbaugh and staff.
thank you. do you think he was worth going after or is this a 'no big deal' type of commit?
I was close to posting my scouting report on him when the news came out about the new staff basically pulling the offer. I wasn't very impressed by him. He's not very shifty and he's not very fast. He's a decent talent but nothing to get worked up over.
Name: Cohl Cabral
CALIFORNIA RANK: #30 (overall)
NATIONAL RANK OL #20
Offers: Cal, Arizona St, Wash, Wash St, Oregon St
UTAH, Kansas, Vanderbilt,
I'm telling you this kid is gonna be a monster on the line and the offers are pouring in. He's shooting up the charts and Coach Harbaugh and Coach Drevino need to check this guy out!!!! Before its to late.
Everyone go to 24/7 and check him out!
I'm not saying anything that's not out there. I'm a guy by the way Whos main interest is baseball.

There are different kinds of impressive. Sometimes I'm impressed by speed, sometimes I'm impressed by aggression, arm strength, size, etc. I'd say most of the recruits have SOMETHING impressive about them.
For example, I think Malzone is limited athletically, but he was in great command of Brother Rice's offense and seemed to know exactly where to go with the ball, how to get it there, his ball handling, etc.

C'mon...
Hoke didn't work out, but the carpet bombing by many folks here is too much.

It's the guy who, at one time, was most likely to be our class of 2016 running back.
