I was in the same lighting and it just switched on me for no reason.

I'm also drunk.

Well, to me personally, it looks like a blue dress with black lace adornments, if you will. More importantly, it looks suspiciously like the kitchen curtains in my mother's parents' house, the same curtains that my mother - every time we would visit - would offer to replace so she no longer had to stare at them.

Apparently if you see blue and black, your blue spectrum color vision is more acute than people who see white and gold...

I've yet to look at it and think gold and white. I don't even understand why this is a thing.
EDIT: I even grabbed the colors from the Chrome color picker.. it's definitely blue and black. The pixels don't lie.
February 27th, 2015 at 11:21 AM ^
My color picker said it was dark gold...but not black. Could our color pickers have different rods and cones?!
/s...but seriously, mine didn't say black when I clicked on the "gold" near the upper right. Could be the selection location.

I see white and gold on this site, but blue and black on another site. It's another viral sham that's making us all just a little less intelligent.

Not shenanigans. It tests the acuteness of your blue cones in your eyes. People who see blue and black right off the bat have better blue cones.

Every time I've seen it it's been white and gold. But then I could never see the hidden picture in those books, either.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:17 PM ^
What. Opened the thread and it was white and gold. Scrolled down to read the comments, scrolled back up and now its blue and black.

I very clearly see gold. I saw gold half an hour ago.
My girlfriend showed me a clear image (with good lighting) of the actual dress, and there's no question it is black and blue.
I cannot stop seeing gold and light blue above.
EDIT: By the way, this is the dress on Amazon. ZERO question that it is black and blue.

I see a pale powder blue and brownish gold... I don't even know what's up and down anymore.

Is this a joke? I totally see black and blue, no question.

I can definitely see that the dress is Fugly

My wife couldn't see it, so I did a little photoshopping. Now she sees it. Take the main pic. Block out everything but the shaded area in the upper left. Now run it through a couple of contrast enhancers. Looks darker, but the hues haven't changed.
Now unblock it. Bam. Blue/Black.

I really couldn't see black at all, but now I see it, even for OP's image.

I can't see any white and gold at all. Not even close.
Can you 'shop it for those of us who can't see white and gold?

I saw nothing but white and gold from my phone, I'm about 50/50 on my computer (it looked black and blue this time) and I don't see how trying has anything to do with it.
Edit: I'm only seeing black and blue now on, possibly due to Blazefire's post but possibly not?
February 27th, 2015 at 8:09 AM ^
Regardless of how anyone futzes with it or how long I look at it, I can't see anything but white and gold. I'm not colorblind, either.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:41 PM ^
It's white with gold trim, but due to the ultra crappy photography, there's a blue hue. Google it and you'll find somebody who cleaned up the picture. I have zero idea how anyone sees black anywhere, however.

Amazon disagrees:

That's the dress.

This photo clears it up. What's cooler is that when I move my cursor up and down the thumnails to the left in Amazon, she kinda dances for me. Ha
