OT: ND Wide Receiver Dating Pornstar

So I logged into my Facebook and the first thing I see that's trending is this:

It would appear freshman Notre Dame wide receiver Justin Brent is dating the pornstar Lisa Ann...  Seems very Notre Dame of him.  For a school that adheres to respectable values (not that this is really that egregious), seems to have a lot happening recently - Golston suspension, academic scandal, etc.

Edit: I'm not a making a judgment one way or another - I personally don't think it's a big deal at all (life is life, am I right?  People should do whatever they want as long as it doesn't harm others).  Simply providing this information and pointing out that this is another event in a long line of PR / perception disasters for ND, a "moral, Christian" school.

Does poetry make this on topic - in season - on MSU week? If that is what you are saying say it.  You're not saying that though are you? 

This is shame based defamation that is neither enlightened nor informative to sport.  It's sexually repressive in intent.  Should we vet CFB players social lives in public or on MGoBlog?  I don't care who players date or with whom they read poetry - this thread sucks.  

Granted I'm surprised and informed to find the post still here.  How does this fit the OT criteria?  Maybe this is a statement about what this blog is about?  Sad but that might be it.

While I find the self-righteousness and pretension of the Notre Dame culture as annoying as the next person, I think holding up the dating choice of two consenting adults and equating it to an academic scandal is beyond stupid. There are plenty of incidents we can point to in the past few years to highlight the hypocracy of the ND culture, but this is not one of them. Trying to impugn Justin Brent's reputation because he is failing to meet some fabricated standard for chasteness and decorum simply because he plays football for a private Catholic school is a shitty thing to do.

I do not see how this tarnishes ND or makes it seem hypocritical.  What is the alternative?  Do they hire an assistant coach with the sole responsability of screening players' sex partners for age, morals and existence?

God, I hope so. If Notre Dame wanted to find a way to torpedo their athletic recruiting, assigning a coach to chaperone duty would be an excellent way of accomplishing that. Please be that stupid.
