Some guy on the internet claims he has a source: Morris to start at QB; Gardner to start at WR

Submitted by julesh on

Some guy on reddit claims he has a family member inside who says Morris will start, and Gardner has been taking reps at WR. Never believe anything you see on the internet, and all that, but thought I'd pass it along in case anyone is interested.

I know we're all getting tired of this kind of speculation.... but.... my spidey sense is tingling on this one, to be honest. What he posted accounts for some of the oddities we've seen with DG, tempo, and the OL.... and it's not like we've got anything better to do.

Won't be long until we know whether this guy is full of it.

Coach Kill for Minnesota said that his team was preparing for just this...so it's clearly not far-fetched.

That said, I think we should refrain from posting every internet rumor. If it's an internet rumor that comes from a credible source or a public/popular domain like ESPN...I'm all for it.

But as you said "some guy on the internet" is the source of this one, IMO, we need more than just "some guy on the internet."

If it's Sam Webb or the 24/7 guys or anyone who has a valued opinion, a rumor is cool. But "some guy?" that could just be an OSU or MSU fan fucking with everyone.

"And that's who we have to prepare for. I know that others make conversation about that and I know if he didn't play quarterback, he's going to play wide receiver. He's going to get touches. You've got to prepare for him like you always have offensively. You just can't change in one week. They're not going to change. They may move Gardner around, they may play both, but we've just got to prepare for what we see. And if we need to make adjustments and we see somebody different, we will. But again, you can't prepare for a ghost."

...so now it's easy to see where "some guy" could make some shit up. It's not as farfetched as some people think if the opposing coach is preparing for it...and this was before any rumors. This was his Monday presser.

DG might have done further damage than assumed when he continued to play after breaking his foot. There are concerns he injured the nerves in the first quarter of the ND game, he has problems planting his left foot and driving off of it.

That could explain all the wonky looking jump passes.
