Fire Hoke

Submitted by LordGrantham on

It's time. There is more than enough evidence. Can anyone give one good reason why this guy should remain head coach at Michigan?  He was a mediocre MAC coach and has shown nothing to suggest that he's capable of leading us to success.  Fire him now, and take Brandon with him.  I'm really not being emotional here, it's just objectively obvious.  The guy is a bad coach.

He is the first Michigan coach to quit on his team.  He was done in my book when he decided to go for it on 4th and 9 instead of kicking the FG to stop the shutout.

Fire Hoke, Brandon and Mattison.  The defense has gotten worse every year.

THIS IS NOT RICH ROD's fault anymore.  Hoke cannot coach major college football.

This has to end.  There is now comprehensive proof he can't prepare this team to play on the road.  Time to bring in a coach that can actually do something with the talent assembled.

bunch of cock suckers! Although the game sucked, get over yourselves with the firing Hoke bullshit. we had several starters out today and several players not playing well tonight. We didn't get the calls we should have.

Taylor did leave the game early and Peppers was out, but you are delusional if you think either one could have made a difference in a 31-0 game. Also ND had multiple starters out, last I checked.

Your post may be the most nonsensical I have ever seen on this board.

First row 30 yard line on the Michigan side. We were outmatched in every possible fashion. We give up way too many points, Kansas State, Ohio, and now this. We didn't score one point. We are not good, and it is Brady's fourth year. This shit is getting old.

I know you guys should fire Hoke and I'm not going to argue against it, but who are you going to hire to replace him? This upcoming off season may just be the all time worst for available coaches with solid head coaching experience deserving of a spot at a blue chip program. Barring going to Les Miles with dump truck loads of money...who is out there?

Waited 30 years to get season tickets and now in my second season I get this shit. We pay more now then ever for tickets have the most four and five star talent yet we can't win a road game. Sparty gets it done with half the talent. Hoke and his this is michigan bull crap need to go. I hate the we are raising men here line. From what I can see all the young mens egos are getting in the way. Play loud asses of or get out! It's a pri algae to play here not a god given right.

I love Hoke the man, I think he is a great human being. He is just not a good HC. I think he might be too nice. Dies anyone think any player is afraid of Hoke? When we have players laughing on the sidelines in a blowout loss, that tells me they do not respect their head coach.

get a big time coach like Lou Holthhhhhh or bring in Bob Davie - where is Ty Willingham?  All better than the crappy up and coming MAC coach we will end up with

and blow up the re-stabilizing of the program. After six years in the wilderness, we finally have some depth at most positions.

Tonight sucked balls, but we have two all-anything coordinators. I'll wait to see the rest of the season before suggesting we pull the plug

Watching three years of just absolute sh*t under RIchrod has greatly improved by football suckitude tolerance.

Mark Dantonio went 7-6, 9-4, and 6-7 in his first three years. Sometimes you have to let a program grow. A basketball program can be turned around with a few players. It can take a lot longer to right a football program. I'm not ready to blow everything up because we're so pissed off that things aren't going as great as we want because I've seen how bad coaching transitions can be

The Hoke project obviously is a huge failure. Let's move on...put this shit show behind us and look to brighter days! Get ready for the first under 100k at the big house!!! It's time for the Mich faithful to rise up and out a end to this debacle.

The bad news:

Our team got clobbered in its worse loss in the history of the rivalry. -- Yeah that's pretty damn bad news. It's the last game in the rivalry for the foreseeable future so this sting is going to last a long time.  Key players were hurt in this loss which will add challenges going forward. The fan base (at least as reflected on the internets) has spun itself into a frensy. So more bad news is that this blog is likely to be a rather unpleasent place for a while.

The good news:

This was the second game of the season so no coach is getting fired on Monday. Despite all the angst and vitriol no one here can impact the coaches who will have ample time to fix the problems on the team. This is good news. If the coaches can fix the teams problems and produce at least an 8 or 9 win season they are likely to be retained and the program avoids another massive coaching churn which would be further good news. If the coaches are unable to fix the problem then it is likely that 2015 will bring another massive coaching churn which would be bad news.

I understand that this was a painful loss to watch. I loathe ND as much as anyone, but no matter how ugly you don't fire your coaching staff after game 2.

The bad news: Despite being a nice guy, Hoke is doing a terrible job of coaching this team and is giving us fans no reason to think that things will improve. The good news: We may not have to complain about him much longer, as I don't see a way to recover from this debacle unless he and this team pull of the most improbable of turnarounds in the next couple of months.

The really bad news:   People like you that think if we end up "producing 8 or 9 wins" that Hoke should retain his position.  Who gives a shit about another coaching churn.  Ask OSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida St, how bad their most recent coaching changes set them back.  Oh, they really haven't.  We claim to be one of the "big time" programs.  Settling for 8 or less wins is laughable.   Bye Brady.  You can keep the Michigan coaching shirts as a souvenir of your time here.

I don't buy the headset meme. But I do buy the fact that when his team is struggling, this is what Brady Hoke does:

That's it. That's all. His offense is on the sidelines during a timeout, and he's just walking around patting butts like a cheerleader. He couldn't look more disengaged. And after his bumbling presser after the game, after a week in which he dodged the press and gave nonsensical answers when he did face the music, I'm beginning to think this guy is just in over his head.

I like Brady Hoke. But I don't think I like Brady Hoke coaching Michigan.

Much of the angst on this thread right now comes from being spoon fed total BS by the program, media, etc about the players in the offseason and post beating basically a mediocre FCS school. Literally...nothing showed tonight that was mentioned in the offseason hype...nada, zilch.

If you really want Hoke fired, don't buy anymore UM merchandise until he's gone, tell your family not to buy you any.  Don't go to the games and dont renew your season tickets. speak with your money.  That's all Brandon will hear.  This is a business, nothing else.
