Unless you're like me and simply hate OSU more than ND, then it's easy.

I shall root for the meteor.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:30 AM ^
always root against OSU
September 4th, 2014 at 11:53 AM ^
Agree with everyone else who wants the blimp/meteor/Godzilla/vishnu to win this matchup, however I can never, ever, route for ND unless there is some benefit to Michigan and really ND beating Ohio doesn't benefit Michigan.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:44 AM ^
Root for the comet/meteor to win.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:02 AM ^
What about our second opponent after Washington? Weren't we supposed to hear 2-3 weeks ago?
September 4th, 2014 at 10:46 AM ^
they announced BYU.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:53 AM ^
BYU is a one off and I'm pretty sure it has been known about for awhile.... I think
September 4th, 2014 at 11:20 AM ^
still listed on future schedules at mgoblue.com
September 4th, 2014 at 10:02 AM ^
Pardon my language, but ND can go fuck itself.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:23 AM ^
Sounds like this is pretty much an arrangement for exactly that to happen.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:39 AM ^
Well said. My sentiments exactly. Obviously after Hoke called them "chickens" they decided to troll us with this.

We should announce a series with USC on Friday.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:28 AM ^
I agree with this, schedule the USC Broken Trojans. Somehow this is more of a national interest than an established rivalry? How is this not a regional appeal? Feels like ND is trying to schedule whoever's good right now in an attempt to ride their tailcoats to relevancy.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:40 AM ^
USC, baby. You hook up with our boyfriend, we'll hook up with yours, bitch.
September 4th, 2014 at 11:51 AM ^
September 4th, 2014 at 10:21 AM ^
Exactly. I hope it's worse than 2006. This is a deliberate punch to the nuts. This will be the only time I root for OSU.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:33 AM ^
Having lived in Ohio all of my life, I just cannot root for the buckeyes, unless what they're doing DIRECTLY affects Michigan. For example, if we are tied with a team for the division lead and need that other team to lose their final game to get Michigan into the conference title game and OSU was their opponent, I'd cheer for OSU to win because that directly affects Michigan. Otherwise, OSU can fuck itself.

And yet... Special K played the Chicken Dance at the end of the game last year. As far as class goes, all bets have been off for a while now.
September 4th, 2014 at 1:28 PM ^
we are not saying BU-rns.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:03 AM ^
/Checks the internet for a possible meteor strike on Columbus in 2022. Nothing. OK, how about one on South Bend in 2023?

September 4th, 2014 at 10:04 AM ^
I find it amusing more than anything.
Entirely in character for ND to schedule something like this and announce on eve of ending a rivalry with us.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:17 AM ^
Leprechauns and trolls are related, aren't they?
September 4th, 2014 at 10:05 AM ^
Shocking timing.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:11 AM ^
then faces both on the road in 2023. Jim Delany's fault?
I suppose this (sort of) gets ND off the hook for being chicken. Would ND-OSU be a national rivalry instead of a mere regional game like ND-UM? Anyway, I hope it turns out like their last home-and-home in 1995&1996. The Fiesta Bowl was just a bonus. Still weird that they've only played five times including that bowl matchup.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:11 AM ^
They also have Texas and Boston College in '23
September 4th, 2014 at 10:15 AM ^
Tough schedule. Maybe they will have their five players back by then.
September 4th, 2014 at 11:13 AM ^
Golston will probably cheat again and get suspended from school (aka redshirt and spend an entire semester working out with a QB guru) only to somehow get readmitted and rejoin the team, no harm no foul. How many more years of eligibity does he have left?
September 4th, 2014 at 10:14 AM ^
Hard to tell with Michigan-OSU scheduling. By then we'll all be in the Pac-175 and we'll only play our rivals every century or so.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:19 AM ^
they only play OSU for two years ..... we played them Every year.
September 4th, 2014 at 11:04 AM ^
41 total meetings between UM/ND. Since the first game occurred in 1887, they clearly didn't play every year.
September 4th, 2014 at 10:50 PM ^
they're picking up a two-game series they're almost guaranteed to lose both of. They really are the smartest guys in the room.

any guesses as to which head coach for either of these programs will have suffered a fatal heart attack by the time this series is played?

If so, then I figured out the result I am rooting for.
