Luis Bites Again -- srsly you cant make this stuff up

Submitted by superstringer on

Here's video from just now -- Luis Suarez bites Italian defender on his shoulder:

http://www.espnfc.us/video/highlights/114/video/1909031/watch-suarez-controversy

It's not 100% conclusive but, given his past record, I'm convinced.

When does this animal get banned from FIFA permanently?  Third time he's done it.  What kind of deranged mind does this?  I don't care that he's the most exciting striker in the world -- the fact the's done this 3 times, including twice in about 18 months, is proof enough.  Ban him permanently.

LFC fans -- you can't seriously support this animal, can you?

You just can't go biting people.   Our parents taught (most of) us this at a very early age.

No card issued.  Can they suspend/ban him based on replay?  If so, why don't they ban some of these guys who writhe in pain, seemingly with broken bones, and on replay we see they weren't even touched?  Soccer fans (and I see why you love the game) seem to reflexively defend the behavior, but it wrecks the game for me.

Punishment can come after the game, as well as cards being removed when there's evidence of it not being deserved, although not sure if in the WC. Carding players for diving after the game, I've seen it being done, but just when it was an important dive (gaining a PK or something) otherwise you'd have to card the whole team.

I don't even mind the diving (that much).  I thought Neymar's dive in the first game was clearly a "dive" but the Croation opponent had a pretty good grip on him and prevented a scoring chance so he embelished.  What I really hate is when they're trying to figure out where their injury is gonna be before they even hit the ground.  Chris Pronger (an asshole for sure) tried to skate off the ice when his heart was stopped.  The least these soccer guys can do is avoid the use of stretchers when they will actually return to the game.

"otherwise you'd have to card the whole team."

Not true. If you start giving cards for diving, the amount of diving will drop like a rock. It happened in a World Cup match in 2010 or 2006, can't remember exactly, but a couple cards were given for diving and then it was a pretty clean match the rest of the way. Everyone dives because it's high reward and no risk, just gotta change the equation. I don't mind guys embellishing a foul in case the ref didn't see it.

A football player, hockey player, basketball player, or hell even baseball player getting bitten and, rather than beat the shit out of that player, instead dive to the ground.

But a basketball or hockey or football player knows that while he might get kicked out of the game if he retaliates, his team will be allowed to substitute for him.

I wonder if they would do that if they knew that if they did their team was going to have play the rest of an important game one man down. Would you throw the punch if you knew that it meant the other team would get a 30-minute power play? In an elimination game?

And, in reverse, the reward for both making sure the referee knows what happened and choosing not to retaliate is that you probably get that same 30-minute power play. There's every incentive to do exactly what Chiellini did--make sure the game is stopped, then show the bite marks to the referee.

(Why the referee didn't red-card Suarez from the physical evidence, I don't understand at all.)

The referees at the Big Soccer referee forum are arguing about whether Chiellini should have been sent off for the "retaliatory" elbow he threw when he was bitten.

Forget the punch, there are referees that would send you off just for what Chellini actually did.

Wow, some of the posters on that forum you linked to are complete f***ing morons.  Like "I don't know how they manage to tie their shoes in the morning" level morons.

Are you telling me those posters are actually soccer REFS?  If so, that is pathetic.

After about 5 people told the guy he was off his rocker, he basically amended what he was saying and said he was only saying that the ref would have had to eject the guy throwing the elbow because he woudln't have actually seen the bite and therefore would have only seen the retaliation.

I believe this would be known as "getting Laimbeered".

Any ref that actually saw someone bite another player and then threw out the bitee for throwing up his elbow in an attempt to ward off the bite would rank among the worst officials in history.  Which probably does include half of the FIFA refs in this World Cup actually.

Lifetime ban from World Cup/FIFA play.

Dunno what they do with him at the club level.

He obviously has severe mental issues that prevent him from being able to function as an adult.  ESPN the mag had an article about a ref he beat the crap out of back when he was a teenager as well, but it was all covered up so as not to ruin his career.  He is an animal.

Geez, that was ridiculous.  Men in Blazers should be hilarious BTW.  Mann Hathaway and his giant teeth strike again.  After that great season, everyone thought this nonsense was behind him, I guess not.

Reds fan. Can't support him anymore.  He seemed poised to become the next megastar.  I was afraid he'd walk this summer.  Now, I'm just hoping he hasn't hurt his sale value.  I don't get it.

something must happened in his childhood related to biting or something. I know one psychologist said in 2013 that he would do it again for sure. Its almost like a reflex for him. Just like how everyone blinks when something approches their face, he bites people. It sucks because he is one of my favorite players but he needs help

Suarez is the epitome of a douchebag.

Sorry Liverpool fans, but this will seal his exit.  After two suspensions, the FA will be trying to find any excuse to hit him with the banhammer.

Good riddance.  Hopefully this will result in severe financial difficulties for him (lol doubt it, Real will still drop coin on him)

Maybe someone should have ordered him some spaghetti before the match. He apparantly enjoys Italian...

In all seriousness, this idiot had better not step foot on the field during a FIFA match for a very long time or FIFA has lost what (very) little credibility they have left. Secondly, I'm no Italy fan, but that ref was awful too. Suarez gets nothing despite clear bite marks on the Italian player's shoulder and Marchisio gets red-carded for something that was a yellow card AT THE MOST.

Everyone is always teasing him about how his teeth are so big. The Men In Blazers did a "How does he get all those teeth in that mouth" skit just the other day.

Just crazy that of course HE is the one to bite someone.
