Looking like the Elite Eight is going to be 37.5% B1G.

For a long time in b-ball, I rooted for Sparty if they weren't playing us. Not anymore. Too much complaining, too much media slobber all over their whiny-ass hand-breaking weird-guy roster, too much Izzo going off the deep end. Go Huskies.

MSU is baffled by this pac line defense.

Sparty, NO!!!!!!
March 28th, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
I turned it on thinking that this was a win-win--MSU advances, three B1G teams are in the Great 8; they lose and MSU loses. Soon as I started to watch my loathing for MSU too over and I'd just like Virginia to pound them.

Any chance that kid can stop yelling on the KY/Louisville game? Sounds like he's miked. Jesus.
March 28th, 2014 at 10:57 PM ^
Kentucky closing in on Louisville at the half... until Smith hits a ridiculous floater off the top of the backboard to stretch it back to a 3-point game.
March 28th, 2014 at 10:57 PM ^
I really can't decide if MSU or UVa will win. So I'm going to hope for the MSU loss.
March 28th, 2014 at 10:57 PM ^
Louisville up 34-31 at the break.
March 28th, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
Virginia looking sharp these past few minutes. Gary Harris gets a big bucket as I type that, though.

I can't shake the feeling nobody is beating Sparty. Go ahead and hate me. I do, too.
March 28th, 2014 at 11:07 PM ^
they come and go. Check your analytical side every now and then, too.

From watching the games in the tournament it seems like that is the case. Officials calling it here and there, but still letting it go for the most part.
Pretty much the concern everybody had about how it would play out, that the refs would be tough on it early in the season, and than gradually become more and more lax.

MSU has a tendency to lose when I'm not watching. I missed their losses against Georgetown, Nebraska, Illinois, Ohio State, North Carolina AND I missed their loss to us at Breslin because I was down in Miami at a wedding.
So I'm going to keep watching Kentucky/Louisville. Hopefully that helps.

By the way, any chance we can get some fans to Indy by Sunday? Looked like we had like 500 fans there. I know most will be UK/LOuisville today, but geez. The UM contingent looked and sounded small.

I just went through some of the stuff posted over at the World Wide Leader about the Tenn. game and holy schnikes, they love the Vols. It's like they're lobbying the NCAA to retroactively give Michigan an L and let the Vols play on Sunday. Every other sentence is Tennessee was so great, Tennessee was so amazing, Tennessee did exactly what they had to do but just didn't have time to come back, Michigan was luck yot hold on, Michigan got the benefit of the refs' calls and Tennessee was really fighting an uphill battle... sickening.

I believe a couple of the higher-ups are OSU alums, so it's not surprising.

Appling is only at 93.5% and Izzo's voice was only at 48%.

I still can't stand Luke Hancock.

UVA plays with so much effort and tenacity on D. Very impressive. I'd love to incorporate a bit more of that into our team - we'd be unstoppable with our offensive firepower.
March 28th, 2014 at 11:35 PM ^
Offense is a little iffy, but their defense is suffocating. I would be surprised if this isn't a tight game that goes down to the last couple of minutes.
March 28th, 2014 at 11:35 PM ^
If they had 1-2 other legit options on offense they'd be terrifying.
March 28th, 2014 at 11:34 PM ^
Virginia is really playing well now. They look good and strong. That could be a problem for us. But MSU knows us - I like our Beilein advantage against VA better.... and I hate watching MSU win pretty much anything.
And go UK - also taking the lead.
March 28th, 2014 at 11:48 PM ^
We wouldn't play UVa until the national title game, and by that point you're playing someone good, regardless. So I'm not too worried about that. I just want them to finish off Sparty.

Izzo would trade teams in a second. One team has all the NBA draft stars. The other team plays with tenacity and as a team.
This is how MSU used to play about 7-8 years ago.
