OT: The last perfect bracket has Mich-MSU Champ Game
http://www.lostlettermen.com/article/perfect-ncaa-tournament-2014-bracket-by-brad-binder-not-in-1-billion-challe
In just two days nearly everyone's bracket has been busted. Except for Mr. Brad Binder, who reportedly has the only remaining perfect bracket anywhere (at least on ESPN and Yahoo--though at 1 in 4.29 trillion odds I think it's a safe bet he's the last anywhere.) Poor guy didn't enter the Quicken/Buffet challenge though.
But more importantly, he has Michigan in the championship game. More intriguingly it's against State. Here's hoping his luck keeps up...except for the end.

did they say?

Not one that we want, unfortunately.

State

Because it is on ESPN, he was contractually obligated to pick State.

This one was entered on Yahoo.

That's gonna be sad when the only game he gets wrong is the championship game.
March 22nd, 2014 at 11:49 AM ^
so yeah
March 22nd, 2014 at 11:50 AM ^
I felt stupid about it before...but I'm feeling at least OK about it now.

That final would be so epic and so scary. I don't want it.
March 22nd, 2014 at 11:56 AM ^
Me either. I rather go out in the semifinals than lose in the championship game and be teased. Same feeling in every sport.

He's not saying that we couldn't beat them, he's just saying he doesn't want to deal with the fallout of every State fan talking crap about it from now to the end of time should they win.

You play to win the game.

HELLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!

Is the reason you don't get girls, son. Grow a pair.

ouch...low blow man
But I've tried giving him some advice previously when he mentions that he has no chance of having a girl in his life. You gotta put yourself out there, man. Not too far, now...
No guts no glory.

Short of picking MSU to win it all, which I did in none of my brackets, I am rather jealous of Mr. Binder because most of my pools rather deserve the hastag #bracketofsmolderingremains at this point in the tournament and we're still 15 minutes from the start of the Round Of 32. There's always next year, right?
March 22nd, 2014 at 12:05 PM ^
not perfect, of course, but imagine the odds of his getting 63/64. Just wow.
March 22nd, 2014 at 12:06 PM ^
I had Oklahoma State in the final four.

The way ESPN scores it, with every round worth 320 points, the round of 64 is effectively the fifth tiebreaker.
With equal weighting of potential round scores, the range/variance of scores grows dramatically as the tournament progresses. Which means you could very likely identify the victor by progressively asking
0. Who picked the champion? 1. Of those, who scored the most in the Final Four? 2. Of those, who scored the most in the Elite Eight? 3. Of those, who scored the most in the Sweet 16? 4. Of those, who scored the most in the Round of 32? 5. Of those, who scored the most in the Round of 64?
Yeah, this guy is basically leading at the 5 mile mark of a marathon with a ton of people right on his ass. If you pick a 12 to beat a 5 and then the 12 to lose to a 4 it doesn't really do anything for your bracket.
Do you know how many people still have 15/16 sweet 16 teams still alive? I only got 23/32 and I still have 14/16 sweet 16 teams still alive.
