Football recruiting looks to be picking up

If a mystery 5 star wants to keep it a mystery . . . let him!
There are times when celebrities and athletes want to just enjoy life without the spotlight. It's great being able to go out without everyone coming up to you for attention and autographs and everything else under the sun.

Brian Cole seems a lot more interested in Michigan after his last visit. He's probably 50/50 M/MSU and wants to visit Michigan again soon

That would be awesome.

I know you're not talking about Stefon Diggs!

Maize "N Brew said it was Hilliard.

Maize 'n' Brew is wrong.
Josh says Hilliard is visiting (which, he is), not that he's the surprise visitor.

It's probably because his mom won't sign his NLI, and he's at least considering where else he might go if MSU doesn't happen.
Just because you think he's out of the picture doesn't make it so, random internet message board poster.
He could end up being the first student to be able to honestly say that his first choice was MSU but that he ended up at Michigan as his fallback.
Nuh-uh. 99% of the RCMB got accepted to UofM but chose MSU instead.
I know cuz they told me on the internet.
As I said yesterday, thank god for Coach B and the hoops program.
Jabrill Peppers is not elite

How much elite talent signed with Michigan last year? or the year before that?
I don't understand you Sparty trolls. Save this crap for RCMB.
if his mom allowed it, he'd have gone.
Isn't it a conference rule that you can't get a scholarship if you transfer within the conference? Also, any transfer would require sitting for a year. Also, also, he would fall in love with AA and not want to abandon his new teammates.
I thought that had been changed a few seasons ago so that you could get the grant-in-aid but at the sacrifice of a year of play. I seem to remember something from the compliance department to that effect, but I could be mistaken.
While people are mentioning McDowell, it may be of note that there is a deadline approaching for his saga per a Pete Thamel piece the other day. As I recall, he would need to submit either an NLI or a Big Ten tender by April 1st or MSU - if that's where he ultimately goes - would not be able to put him on scholarship until the beginning of the fall semester.
Losing a year of eligibility and having to pay for it on his own. That's what Boren had to do when he transferred to Ohio. It's in the Big Ten rules I believe, or at least it use to be.
It would be stupid to enroll at one school, and then transfer to another. He'd be buring two years of eligibility by doing that assuming Michigan would even grant him a direct transfer to Michigan State. Because don't forget, a lot of schools are colossal assholes about letting kids transfer to the school of their choice. So he'd likely have to go the Juco route to wind up at MSU.
Having to sit out a year for one. Hoke wouldn't have to give him a release to tranfer to MSU. Most coaches block transfers from going to their upcoming opponents. There is no coming here by default scenario. He could go to a lot of other places instead.
On maize n brew it is reported to be Justin Hillard as the 5 star recruit. Little late posting. Hopefully it is Rosen.
I am pretty confident it's not Rosen, who is set to announce on March 20th, most likely for UCLA.
It's also not Hilliard, who has openly stated that he's visiting this weekend.
I have an idea, but not a confirmation. I think the position combined with 5-star would be a pretty big giveaway.
If it's the guy I think it is, yes.
Would like to see him back in the fold.
Harris has made no secret about his past visits (including a couple weekends ago). Making a secret visit at this point would be odd.
know who it is, but can't say. FWIW, I respect that and appreciate your discretion.
My guesses are Torrance Gibson or Johnny Frasier.....
or maybe Fitzpatrick ?
I will say that at least one of the letters in at least one of the three names you listed is also in the name of the potential surprise 5-star visitor.
FML.
Jarett Stidham! From what I heard is that he really liked Nuss! It would be great if Nuss could bring someone like Jarett in!
And commited to TT but would not be surprised if he is interested in Michigan because Nuss is here.
You seem to be having a nice conversation with yourself.
This here message board post is not what clued me in to the fact that there's a surprise visitor.
By my count, at other positions we'd either have multiple possibilities: DE-Cornell, Beckner; CB-Sheffield, Fitzpatrick; WR-Campbell, Kirk (though neither of those makes a ton of sense); we'd have no possibilities--OL, S, TE; or the only possibility seems unlikely to be a surprise visitor at this particular point: QB-Gibson (since Michigan just started recruiting him), RB-Harris (since there's no real reason he'd need to be a suprise visitor), or LB-Holland (since there's not much smoke there except for a couple of tweets).
Unless, of course, it's someone committed elsewhere or you weren't being quite that specific when talking about it being a giveaway, in which case I have just spent several minutes constructing a bridge to nowhere, which, admittedly, I deserve for going on such a pointless quest.
