My two cents Kentucky.Maize...

Celebration threads are few compared to concern threads. Concern threads also get more posts. Then, you end up with concerns dominating the conversation and we forget that we just won frigging championship. I am not saying it is you, but saying that is the way things go. Negative talk gets more attention.

Personally, my fandom is pretty satiated with the national title.  I'm not going to stress out too much about next season, and maybe a bit beyond that.  I genuinely didn't think I'd see Michigan win another national title, so this is an incredible thrill.

That said, I'm certainly sad that Harbaugh is gone and fear that replacing him will be a major challenge.

Brian's hot take in one of the recent podcasts was that Michigan was actually better off as a program with Sherrone Moore as the head coach than Jim Harbaugh.  That's definitely a hot take.  Better off under Moore than under other candidates we could realistically get?  Yeah, probably.  But better off than under Harbaugh?  That's a major leap of faith.

Nope it was not OK. Also, with the influx of 5 star recruits after the 97 NC, Carr should have had one or two more NC. The wheels started falling off in Carr's  last year and RR tried fitting a round peg into a square hole with what was left of the players when he took over. 3-9 was embarrassing for M football. I feel sorry for SM, since he will not get 5 stars after winning a NC and Michigan will not allow him to use NIL to get top 200 players. I hope he can develop his 3 and 4 stars up like JH did.

I don’t know if it’s because Harbaugh to the the NFL rumors have been out there forever, but is sure feels like all of these staff changes are taking a really long time. At least none of the important returning players have hit the portal. I’ve heard Texas, OSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and many others are contacting our players agents to let them know the amount of money they would get if they transferred. The big four of Loveland, Grant, Graham, and Johnson are allegedly being offered $1.5 to 2 million to transfer for one season. If none of them leave, it says a lot for our program.

"The big four of Loveland, Grant, Graham, and Johnson are allegedly being offered $1.5 to 2 million to transfer for one season."

I am sure the NCAA is urgently investigating this.

Also, it seems like Corum, JJ, Zak, etc. did pretty well this past year - no reason why "the big four" can't step up and take their place.  I think Will already has some deals based on his MI presence.

One thing I liked about Jim is that whether other coaches like him or not, the dude is connected and seems to have a wealth of people to turn to on hire recommendations. Can't expect More to have that kind of network in this point in career, but hopefully JH gives him access to the Harbaugh Family Football Rolodex now and again, which I imagine is a real Rolodex somewhere in Jim's office, handed down from Jack. I met Jay while he was on a recruiting trip in Louisiana.  The high school coaches where Jay was recruiting knew I was a big Michigan fan because my son always wore his Michigan shirts to practice.  They introduced me to him, and he was awesome.  We spent 20 minutes talking and I was trying to not monopolize his time.  If he had given any indication that he was in a hurry or had something else to do, I would have thanked him for his time and gone my way thinking very highly of him.  He never acted like he was too busy or the least bit distracted.  He didn't talk to me like I was some random fan, which is exactly what I was, instead he was invested in our conversation.  he was more than just being polite.  He was honest and genuine.  After he went his way, the high school coaches raved about him.  They said he was the best dude they ever had visit a recruit.  Nothing but respect for Jay Harbaugh, and for his dad who raised a great man.  Go Blue! and now "Go Chargers!"

Really need to get some finality in the staff sooner rather than later. Cannot continue to let this drag out as it impacts recruiting, but also the 2024 roster. I'd like it if Moore elevated Clink and/or Elston to DC, Campbell to OC and then hired some younger stud recruiters for the position coaches. At this point, that's probably the best UM is going to be able to do without blowing things up.

Right now the NFL is the better place to coach. College football is a shit show and no one is doing anything to fix it. I hate to break it to all you doomers out there but this is probably the new normal until someone fixes the chaos that is college football. There are head coaches at the college level leaving to be coordinators in the NFL. Nick Saban retired. The writing is on the wall.

You can add me to the part of the fanbase that is happy we won it all. It was an awesome ride and everything else is just icing on the cake. I'm ready to see what coach can put together. We knew players and coaches would be exiting the program. It's just silly to think Harbaugh was the only one leaving. Take some time to enjoy the championship run and live a little. We went through some shit years and it didn't look like we would ever make it to a championship game.

Perhaps the reason these announcements are taking time is because there is a staff in place in LA, and Harbaugh is giving them the respect of talking to them before informing them that someone else will be replacing him.  This is basic courtesy.

I'm a bit shocked that Jay hasn't looked to get out of his Dad's shadow.  The Harbaughs have the contacts, and he has been good at most, if not everything, he's done here.  Why not look to fly the coop?
