Giles Jackson to return to Washington for 2024
He will sit out the Apple Cup game this week to preserve his redshirt this season (thimb injury), likely play this coming postseason (does not count against eligibility) and return for next season.
We play them in Seattle next year.

I'm pretty sure he already took one loss to Michigan so hopefully he picks up another next year.

I was struck by this line in the article: “Counting his UW and Michigan totals, he has 73 career catches for 367 yards and 3 touchdowns.” That’s a lot lower than I would have expected for his 5-year career (so far).

Bo didn't throw the ball much when he played here

I feel like we ran the triple T formation , when he was here .

He is a decent returner so there's that but yeah, he really has just sort of been a guy. There's nothing wrong with that but I remember when he left and people worried he'd blow up and prove Harbaugh couldn't run a coherent passing offense.

I was one of those, so I will eat my negs. But if I also recall, he may have been good friends with Xavier Worthy? And at the time it seemed like one leaving impacted the other.

Yes, that was the rumor at the time...there were a lot of sharp words exchanged between Giles and the Michigan players when they faced each other in 2021.

Seems like a good candidate for the firm handshake

Yeah, but then you might aggravate that thimb injury

“at Michigan, he had 95- and 97-yard kickoff returns for touchdowns”
Sigh. What could have been…

AJ Henning was better.
Ugh, sigh....

I usually hope positive career developments for players who wore the Maize and Blue and then decided to go play elsewhere (exception for Boren obviously). However, Giles and Milton were supposed leaders in 2020 and on their way out showed a lot of disrespect to the program. It is interesting that we were such a tire fire in 2020, and after their departure there was a major culture shift. I'm not blaming 2020 solely on the backs of these 2, but it is interesting that once some disgruntled few left, there was a much stronger cohesion.
I obviously wish health for Giles, but I'm not actively rooting for him to put up good numbers. Similar to Cade and All. Thank you for your time here, but if you slam the door on your way out, don't expect us to look out the window fondly at you.

I believe Milton said this year that he was immature with his comments and respects UM (or something along those lines).
November 21st, 2023 at 9:50 AM ^
This is correct. In a more recent article I read, he mentioned how immature and entitled he was at Michigan, expecting things to be handed to him without putting in the real work. Seems he got his head on straight from that perspective at Tennessee.

Oh wow, that's great to hear. I haven't been as sour on Milton as some of the others because I do think he was in over his head. He'll do just fine in life it seems like, and maybe some of that includes some professional football (have you seen some of the QBs starting in the NFL this year? Tommy DeVito?!?!?).

He should hes not very fast and not very big. His NFL odds are very low.

Wishing Giles well. I do wonder what role he might play in the remaining games this season.
November 21st, 2023 at 10:35 AM ^
He's like their 6th WR option and a slot receiver at that. Early in the year he was the KR guy.
Giles is an ok D1 player a specialty KR/slot guy. Think he left Michigan disgruntled with that role and found out thats his role elsewhere as well. Will be interesting what his season is like at UW next year after Penix and about 4 WR's move on to the next level.

Buffy will be relieved Giles is staying.
He's working on a different insult to Michigan fans for this next game.
