Just when you thought it couldn't get weirder........ Is that Stalions on the CMU sidelines?

Central played at State on the Friday night before Michigan's opener with East Carolina. Is this Connor Stalions on the Central sidelines, credentialed, and wearing Central gear?

He's at the game studying signs for future reference?

Is this our beloved Connor with a wig? Video:

Maybe it's not him. But the debate is raging. Is it him?

Sooooo, if it is him, how is it he's wearing Central gear on the Central sidelines? How does that happen? Seems odd.

But hey, maybe it's not him.

I think I speak for a lot of people right now:

Ok, yeah, I fucking hate this kid.  No chance in hell any coach would actually risk their careers authorizing something like this.

Is there even a specific rule against this because it's so insane they didn't think to write one?

It is already ugly.  But at least it is clear why 1) the school is going with “loan wolf” instead of “grey area” and 2) why MSU was told and was (rightly) pissed before our game there.

In the long game though this helps Michigan because nobody on staff knew this kid was this nuts.

He should be fired now though.

Isaiah Hole did say there were other things that were going to come out this week?  Could this be one of them??
Stallions is an idiot, but this doesn’t break any NCAA rules, him sneaking onto the sidelines.

It looks exactly like him and the dude has sunglasses on for a night game.  And we’re dealing with a “manifesto-guy” here.  This is pretty clearly Stalions.

It is what it is.  There was a rule violation.  But nobody from the Michigan staff told this guy to buy a CMU costume and go scout a shitty MSU team on the sideline, just like nobody from Michigan told him to get friends to record shitty iPhone video.

Yes, this makes Michigan look ridiculous for a moment and there will be a meme or two, but as to the nuts and bolts this is a good development.  Stalions was a nut and went rogue.  At its core this is a Connor Stalions thing, not a Michigan thing.

I'm pretty sure him being at a game of a future opponent as a member of the staff is one of the few definitively against-the-rules actions he's been proven to take so far. The use of the third parties was grey area, him being there himself is not. As I understand those rules, I'm as new to this as almost everyone else who had no awareness of these regulations until 2 weeks ago.

Ok this is clearly about one person who lost their mind.

That being said, this does elevate this to something that was actually a pretty big deal and I have no idea how it ends now.

(Edit - a “big deal” for Stalions, a smaller deal for Michigan).

It changes almost nothing assuming no one at Michigan higher up than Stalions knew anything about this.

Honestly, I don't think this is going to matter much. People are comparing this to Tressel, what they forget is that what got Tressel fired is the fact that he lied about knowing about what was going on with his players. In this case, it genuinely seems like no one at Michigan had any idea what this guy was doing and its plausible because he seems like an irrational actor doing all this on his own time and on his own dime.

I once saw an episode of Black Mirror that showed a picture of a guy who looked like Stalions looking at a picture of a guy who looked like him. He thought it was Dylan McCaffrey, but it was a recently graduated former walk-on quarterback.

Trick or Treat! This is the perfect news to drop on Halloween. This is unreal. I hope Stalions quickly goes from suspended with pay to terminated.

This is a good development in the rogue actor theory. The staff believed he was getting all his intel from film study, but was actually sneaking onto other team’s sidelines. No coach can be held responsible for this. I’d put this in the same category as Kirby Smart not knowing about the reckless, misdemeanor (borderline felony) level drag racing activity in his program that actually cost someone their life.

So it’s becoming more obvious this was a one (crazy) man operation. How does Michigan prove this? Conner needs to just say fuck it, and release a statement saying he did it all on his own.

Is this even any more formally illegal than just being in the stands, which everyone assumed was coming at some point?  It’s substantially more ridiculous and brazen, but that is just further evidence that no higher up was involved

Agree.  Brian probably has a reason for stating that it is CS in the photo, when (if you only have the photo itself as evidence) it is  definitely not that obvious.  Given what a doofus CS is, I'm assuming he has social media post metadata from GPS coordinates near East Lansing, or some other pretty obvious digital breadcrumb placing him at the game.

They aren’t banning Michigan from anything.  This is an action so ridiculous that Michigan is going to point to it and say “seriously?”

This guy has issues and probably needs some help.  At a minimum this is some pretty kicking OCD with strong notes of some other stuff.  To take things this far and not stop at any point and recover some self-awareness and abort is alarming.
