ND vs Navy starts it off 2:30 PM!!! Playing in Dublin at Aviva Stadium. USC vsSan José State @ 8pm would be the only other ranked team playing in week 0. Last game of the night 9pm LTU vs FIU.

ND and USC roll to start their season. About 10 hours worth of football today, nothing too exciting, but I’ll be watching and hoping for a few nail biters!

college football is back!!

With all the firings at ESPN, I’m disappointed to see that Pat McAfee still has a job there, and is still a douchebag.

He still has a job because he realizes that in order to survive you have to be a firebrand. A blow hard who is the loudest guy in the room and who’s willing to say some pretty ridiculous things that turn heads, get clicks and generate attention.

That’s why Stephen A. Smith still has a job. That’s why every other loud talking head at ESPN has a job.

That is what today’s media is. Sports, politics, entertainment, you name it. For me, it’s don’t hate the player, hate the game.

I will say him just awkwardly staring at Herbstreit multiple times, dead silent, waiting for him to say something irked me a little bit.

I guess he has a gimmick and he sticks to it, but he does nothing for me.

I can safely say though that I am so damn ready to hear Gus Johnson’s voice again this season. I think we get him back on Thursday night for Minn-Neb.

Herbstreit and McAfee pick Ohio State to win the Big Ten, Desmond takes Michigan.

Absolutely no respect from the Gameday crew for the Wolverines.

I'm going to a barbecue with my wife this afternoon, but I'll probably tune into USC- San Jose St when we get home. I figure, it's the last first Pac12 game of the season (non-conference at least) that I'll get to see!

A year ago today I was at Aviva stadium walking away from the concession stand with 4 free Guinness, chips, and waters while watching Fitz win his only game of the season. Who would have thought it would be his last?

Despise Notre Dame from the bottom of my soul...but will still watch and get annoyed when they get off to a big lead.  And this game being on their network, the commentators will fawn all over them any time they have an offensive play that's longer than 4 yards.

I'll be surprised if I watch longer than one quarter because happy Irish fans are my kryptonite...but it's college football...so here we are.

We can just pluck them out of the portal. Miamis a great city and south Florida is the best in the winter. But why the hell anyone would wanna play football while being boiled alive by your own ball sweat is beyond me. I guess the same could be said for freezing your ass off 6 months a year.

That's how we make 'em tough down here, Milquetoast; we have two seasons of football a year. We bottle our ballsweat AND tears and sell it by the roadside. Our governor has his own temperature controlled built-in cellar full of the stuff. Yrs, Mglobules in Tallahassee, where it's 95 degrees right now.
