Should Michael Barrett agree to join the coaching staff?

I think it's becoming undeniable that Michael Barrett's versatility and virtuosity will change college football in the same way the forward pass, helmets, and cheerleaders have. It seems that Coach Harbaugh is not done exploring his potential.

As you know, Michigan's coaching staff has come under some fire for play-calling and such. As a linebacker and former quarterback, Barrett has been the proverbial 'coach on the field.' Why not take advantage of that deep know-how and strategic brilliance and fire Mike Macdonald and Josh Gattis, both of whom have undeniably been taking cues from Barrett (according to credible rumors), anyway?

I would argue that this is another edge that Coach Harbaugh refuses to test, and ignoring it would be potentially disastrous.

Michael Barrett was hanging out with a few of his high school buddies one night around the campfire.  The guys had a lot of catching up to do as they relived the old high school glory days

After a few drinks his old friend, the DT on his high school football  team says.... "you know, I'm still a bad MoFo.  The other night I was in a bar and this girl just wouldn't leave me alone.  Her boyfriend got a little jealous and bent out of shape so I ended up having to kick his ass before  taking his girl home with me."

The fullback buddy, not to be outdone, explains that he is just a bit more of a bad ass.  Apparently two girls were all grinding up on him like an Urban Meyer finger one night and he ended up having to kick two boyfriends asses before taking both girls home with him that night.

After a moment of silence they look over at Michael Barrett in anticipation of the story that would surely top them all.......

But Michael Barrett says nothing.

Michael Barrett just stares stoically into the crackling fire..... slowly stirring the coals....... with his Michael Barrett d*ck

Michael Barrett came by the other night and, just for fun, took the carburetor of my car apart and put it back together. Then he did the same thing to the engine block. Damndest thing you ever saw.

I was thinking about starting a new thread for this, but...with UM having difficulties keeping QBs healthy in recent years, do you think we should work in Michael Barrett in the QB room just in case Cade and J.J. get hurt?

Michael Barrett spent the spring and summer making potatoes using his own poop. The team has been eating them and that's why they're so much bigger, faster, stronger, smarter, and sexually potent. In fact, I heard Ronnie Bell's knee healed itself and he will be back for the Northwestern game because of Barrett Potatoes.

after rolling 5 of a kind on 6 consecutive tries I says,

"hey Michael, you know you'd score a hell of a lot more points if you took those as yatzee's instead of locking in the 35 bonus points up top?"

then he rolled 3 more times and I realized he was just toying with me the whole damn time.

I heard that Michael Barrett tore his ACL before halftime of the Minnesota game last year and then during halftime he proceeded to perform emergency surgery on himself as well as complete six full months worth of rehab, all before halftime was over, and walked out of the tunnel with the team. Played the next drive as if nothing happened.

Let the Michael Barrett appreciation thread flow through your veins!

On a more serious note, this was a helluva game for the young man and you have to feel for him when the coaching staff/scheme changes so much that he's not playing as much. Barrett still making contributions on special teams and as a reserve LB/S, instead of transferring, really shows he's a true Michigan Man (TM).

*SPOILERS*

In Episode 9 of What If...? the Watcher pulls Michael Barrett from our universe to defeat Ultra Vision.  Then reinserts him in our universe just in time for the TD-saving tackle of Martinez.

I heard from a friend that he's been negotiating a multimillion dollar book deal about the whole transition with the help of his wife, Morgan Fairchild.
