Buckeye Gonna Buckeye
Some Ohio State fans were sad that E.J. Liddell missed a free throw
this is unlikely to end well for that guy.
14 year olds have so much growing up to do...
especially when they are 40
....and living in their mother's basement with free wifi.
...and making it a habit to poop in coolers...

Yes, as they have found more useful things to do with a toilet....

this is unlikely to end well for that guy.
Sounds like the police are getting involved

"These comments, while not from or representative of Ohio State fans, are vile, dangerous and reflect the worst of humanity," Holtmann said.
How does he know they aren't from OSU fans?
I think his point is that if this is their mindset, then they aren’t fans.

Unless I am missing something or more was written or others are threatening this young man, hoping someone dies over a basketball game is an embarrassing and pathetic thought crime, not an actual threat.
Hard to police stupid in society, specifically with how much idiocy and hate is generated and perpetuated on the internet.
Last I checked, being an asshole/vile human is not a crime, or half of OSU fans would already be in jail.
March 20th, 2021 at 12:36 PM ^
And we see yet again, that the word "fans" is short for "fanatics".
Yeah he definitely didn’t commit a crime but I think it’s reasonable for the cops to show die diligence and make certain that this is just bluster
March 20th, 2021 at 11:02 PM ^
Just release his name. Take away his anonymity
Have you read through the game threads on mgoblog? I promise you that there are posters here that would do the exact same thing.
While 100% true, my experience with osu fans is that this is much closer to their average than ours
March 20th, 2021 at 10:07 AM ^
Then why the hell did you go there to coach you traitor?
March 20th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
Because the Columbus jerk store called and they were out of me.
So really you're a stealth Costanza man?
Well, you are their biggest seller.
Yeah, I think there's probably MORE people at OSU who would threaten the lives of college athletes because they didn't put the ball in the basket enough for their liking than some other schools, but UM absolutely has this element and it's disgusting. Hell, Blake O'Neill got similar threats from people after the muffed punt (and yes, some were rival fans but a number of them absolutely were UM "fans").
March 20th, 2021 at 10:40 AM ^
The game threads that involve UM are toxic. I thought I took the games too seriously, but there is a whole ‘nother level of jerkery out there.
March 20th, 2021 at 10:56 AM ^
absolutely agree...some people act like they have more to lose than the actual players do...
An Ohio man shitting in a cooler is not news sir.
cooler = internet
Unfortunately members of our fanbase aren't any better. Sad but this happens to a lot of players across the country
I just came here to post this and the other screenshots to EJ.
i knew the interweb is full of spineless trolls hiding behind their phone or computer, but this shook me. He’s still a kid. I’m sure there are fans like this everywhere. But come on everyone, sports mean a lot, but don’t destroy a human over it.
I hope he learns the right lessons from this.
This is going to become a common theme with gambling opening up in more states. Guy is a turd.
I’m sure OSU being -1900 on the money line wasn’t a factor.
Yeah its not like like certain Michigan fans didn't do the exact same thing to Blake O'Neill after he muffed the punt against MSU. Oh wait, they did. There were people telling him to go drink a gallon of bleach and die. There are some terrible, god awful people in this fanbase as well. People who should never be given a platform or a voice to speak about anything.
I enjoyed watching OSU lose yesterday, but stuff like this goes way too far. I'm sure he knows people like this don't represent the entirety of OSU fans, but if I were him it would sure make me at least think about "Do I even want to come back next year?"
I sure as hell can't do the things these kids practice for any better than they can, so its tough for me to criticize them when they mess up.
March 20th, 2021 at 10:23 AM ^
Over a game. A forking game. That's some sad stuff that the result of a game went a way you don't want so this is what these kids gotta put with. The internet is both one of the greatest & worst things man ever invented.

I’ve seen coaches and fans lose it over a 10U baseball game - in the rec league! All because some guy making $20 didn’t call balls and strikes “correctly”.
March 20th, 2021 at 11:27 AM ^
For sure. My son umpired 8/9U machine-pitch rec baseball a couple of years ago and I stuck around every one of his games in case some parent starting popping off. He missed a couple of calls but the coaches were cool about correcting them. Now in his 12/13U league I heard some mom got banned a couple of games for too much chirping.

I never thought one way or the other about Frank Martin until I saw this video talking about refs and kids sports a few years ago. When I'm overlord of the universe, I'm going to require every parent to watch it before they get to attend any of their kids' games. It's so damn good.

My kids are older now, in Jr. high and HS, but those 8u and 10u days were the worst. I used to sit away from ALL parents - my kids' teammates' parents and opposing parents because it was so embarrassing and made games so unenjoyable.
March 20th, 2021 at 11:33 AM ^
Long before social media, John Navarre had the experience of people bringing their kids with them to ring his doorbell and mocking him to his face when he answered the door. I honestly do not understand how he managed to not punch the daylights out of those assholes—it's a degree of self-control that I'll never have.
Athletes at this level are well educated about social media and the importance of staying off of it when coming to their schools. It will be interesting years from now to see the negative impact social media has had globally. The little Digital Brownshirts with their fascism and McCarthyism is interesting
Is that a buckeye fan tweeting a player or one of our recent shitty threads on "nO MoOrE sPrInG hYpE". I can't tell...
It was a chokefest - pure and simple!
Even worse was OT, when down by 3, Washington had two double bonus free throws - and bricked them badly.
It was unreal - but glorious...
OSU up 4 ,( 50 seconds left iin regulation ) Liddell fumbles it under his own basket .3 Oral Roberts guys on the floor and 0 Ohio St kids on the floor ,for the loose ball .One team wanted it more
March 20th, 2021 at 10:50 AM ^
"one team wanted it more" is, almost without exception, complete horseshit.
Washington hits that three 11/10 vs UM
March 20th, 2021 at 10:01 AM ^
I was absolutely shocked when that final three point attempt from Washington didn't fall. Those are the shots he always makes.
Or at the very least, those are the shots he always makes against Michigan. Watching him chuck up threes against Michigan has been like watching Steph Curry shooting threes in a no-pressure practice session. You just know they're going in.
March 20th, 2021 at 11:34 AM ^
I wondered what OSU would look like when their 3* baller wasn't hitting NBA-level shots.
Now I know.
To be fair we don’t know this is an OSU fan. Could be an angry bettor or just some idiot who lost his office pool.
Or some kid who is a Michigan fan who thinks it would be cool to make it seem like OSU fans are horrid. They are. But anonymous internet trolls are sick and sad people regardless of fan affiliation.
The big question...would you press "Accept" on this message request?
This is just sad. There are terrible people in every fanbase - OSU just happens to have a lot more than average.
Yeah, and some of them would even murder....
I chuckle nervously in the full realization that I have tossed a few people, in my nearly eight years of modding here, for doing this same thing in open threads.
