What’s really sad is someone took time to put this together.
I don’t get the Herbstreit hate. It’s not like he’s a Buckeye homer. I’m guessing it’s because he claimed we were scared of OSU?
January 12th, 2021 at 4:17 PM ^
That, and because it is perceived that he ruined our shot at Miles/Tenuta back in '08.
But I agree with you, Herbstreit is kind of just a boob who just sorta blows in the wind. Good enough for entertainment value I guess
January 12th, 2021 at 12:24 AM ^
Too bad, so sad
January 12th, 2021 at 1:11 AM ^
Imaginative - but did he divorce his wife over it? . . Or, maybe accuse the OSU team of using COVID as an excuse not to play Bama.
January 12th, 2021 at 1:27 AM ^
The dude has to have lock jaw the way he was slobbering all over Justin fields and anything OSU did remotely well. He has gotten more and more bias as the years have gone on.
January 12th, 2021 at 2:20 AM ^
He has gotten more and more bias
Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ on a Cracker, why can't you people get it straight—the word you're looking for is "biased."
January 12th, 2021 at 7:04 AM ^
You prolly could not of said it any better.
January 12th, 2021 at 9:11 AM ^
The more I watch this, the funnier it gets.
My lone regret is that I can only upvote this once.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:26 AM ^
You prolly could have — or could've — said it better.
What we of here is a failure to communicate.
January 12th, 2021 at 9:00 AM ^
yeah? well I could care less!
January 12th, 2021 at 10:17 AM ^
And I couldn't care less.
January 12th, 2021 at 10:55 AM ^
woosh?
January 12th, 2021 at 9:00 AM ^
Over 7 years and first double-post! Woo-hoo! Bang me!
January 12th, 2021 at 10:15 AM ^
Methinks the "of" in place of " 've" was intentional as an in-kind response to the misuse of "bias". A clever and subtle dig.
January 12th, 2021 at 10:20 AM ^
Mr. Biv, you have an optimistic nature.
January 12th, 2021 at 10:56 AM ^
It was clearly intentional, for all intensive purposes. Read the comment prior to said "of" comment. New to MGoBlog?
January 12th, 2021 at 12:47 PM ^
You and Roy G Biv may be right, that "could of" was a clever addition to the conversation. It wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong.
But because I have been on MGoBlog a while, I know that mistake of using "of" instead of "have" is made regularly.
P.S. My response might be considered clever too, at least for those who know movie history: "What we of here is a failure to communicate." (Just watched Cool Hand Luke again the other day.)
January 12th, 2021 at 6:48 PM ^
Uh, it's could of.
January 12th, 2021 at 7:17 AM ^
I see this all the time when I am grading papers, so now whenever I say "biased" in class I emphasize the end of the word--almost like "biaseDDD." Makes me sound like an idiot. And doesn't change anything anyway.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:25 AM ^
Your being bias!
January 12th, 2021 at 1:37 PM ^
I too find this eckspecially annoying.
January 13th, 2021 at 5:05 PM ^
I don’t think you’re suppose to do that.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:35 AM ^
I like proper English, too.

Kirk? Fowler seems worse than him if you ask me. He really loves OSU, and his excitement level when they do something compared to any other team they are playing just doesn't compare.
January 12th, 2021 at 7:09 AM ^
Eh, I hear this a lot. Go back and watch highlights of Michigan games that Fowler has called. He's pretty even across the board.
"And the Wolverines are POOOOOUUUURING it on!

Modern day Brent Musburger - every play is the greatest thing ever.
January 12th, 2021 at 11:40 AM ^
I generally think Herbie is a good buckeye but yeah, I thought it was hilarious how often he'd mention some weak ass excuse or act like a meaningless play meant anything for OSU.
January 12th, 2021 at 2:05 AM ^
Hah, very funny Matt, fuck Kirkie Boy, he's become such a little, whiny bitch.
I've always hated him being the color analyst, his voice is awful and so hard to hear compared to Fowler.
January 12th, 2021 at 2:31 AM ^
So were doing full on shitposts now?
January 12th, 2021 at 9:37 AM ^
I mean it's pretty much all we / those posters have in re: the football team.
January 12th, 2021 at 9:41 AM ^
Now? Have you been looking at the board for the past month?
January 12th, 2021 at 6:02 AM ^
Man, he looks a lot bigger on ESPN.
January 12th, 2021 at 6:28 AM ^
What a man baby.
January 12th, 2021 at 7:43 AM ^
Hey Kirk, the co-eds don't like fat old men! Have a couple "choice" words for you:
a. Weight Watchers
b. Slim Fast
c. Jenny Craig
Now go to your Pope Urban shrine and wipe away the last tears.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:10 AM ^
Thanks for posting this - - it made my day.
Go Blue.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:26 AM ^
I started watching in the 2nd half, but i think he does a very objective job.
It is almost like he goes out of his way to analyze/pump the other team to overcompensate for the fact that he is an OSU homer IMO.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:31 AM ^
Herbstreit seems like a decent guy. I don't really care to mock him. But I don't understand why ESPN assigns him to OSU games.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:43 AM ^
Because he is their #1 along with Fowler. Griese gets assigned to Michigan games sometimes. I have no problem with either being assigned to their alma maters as they both amazingly stay objective.
Like it or not, Herbie is one of the faces of college football. It's fun to make fun of him sometimes, but I have always liked him and I think he is deserving of his top role.
January 12th, 2021 at 9:02 AM ^
I agree - I like Herbie...I also agree that early in his career you would never know he had any ties to OSU, but the last few years he doesnt seem to hide his affection for them as much, but either way I like him and Fowler...commence countdown to the 2021 season....let the BPONE flow through you all.
January 12th, 2021 at 12:41 PM ^
If you think his backhanded patronizing praise of Michigan in previous years was him being unbiased, then you are naive.
January 12th, 2021 at 8:57 AM ^
He's NOT a "decent" guy.
He FRAUDED the IRS on burning his house down and would have gone to jail if the IRS wasn't run by buckeye fans in the 'nnati.
Go Blue.
January 12th, 2021 at 9:03 AM ^
that take is almost as hot as his burning house
January 12th, 2021 at 10:56 AM ^
Ah great a conspiracy theorist. We don’t have enough of them.
January 12th, 2021 at 9:07 AM ^
That's priceless!!!! And thank the football gods for a blow out!
January 12th, 2021 at 9:15 AM ^
I was also crying because it hit me that Michigan isn't even trying to play the same sport as those two teams.
