Hello: 2022 OT Connor Jones
December 24th, 2020 at 8:26 PM ^
No time for love, Dr. Jones
December 24th, 2020 at 8:40 PM ^
No more parachute!
December 24th, 2020 at 8:33 PM ^
The first present signed, sealed, and delivered! Merry Christmas, Connor, and welcome!
December 24th, 2020 at 11:00 PM ^
Pretty nice present for him and his family too.
December 24th, 2020 at 8:39 PM ^
Interesting timing, welcome Mr. Jones and Go Blue!
December 24th, 2020 at 8:58 PM ^
Exactly. CJ had to announce early so he can get to bed before Santa arrives.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:00 PM ^
I hear that he is almost as good as as Connor Jones!
December 24th, 2020 at 9:05 PM ^
Could you imagine if we were able to get Connor Jones!?! Goosebumps.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:18 PM ^
Unbelievable. I've made this mistake twice now. I don't know why my phone keeps autocorrecting Jones to James
December 25th, 2020 at 12:51 AM ^
Got it fixed, GS. Saw it a short time ago; didn't want the young man wondering about it if he checks in on MGoBlog. I bet some recruits likely do.
Merry Christmas or whatever it may be that the Squirrels family celebrates.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:07 PM ^
Can he also play cornerback?
December 25th, 2020 at 2:48 PM ^
How many years ago was it that we used to ask about every recruit being able to play OL?
December 24th, 2020 at 9:07 PM ^
It’s the gift that keeps on giving the whole year round, Clark.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:14 PM ^
That it is, Edward.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:40 PM ^
Just got done watching that. Classic.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:11 PM ^
Merry Christmas!
December 24th, 2020 at 9:21 PM ^
The Adam Duritz haircut really made a comeback the last year or two with the youngsters.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:34 PM ^
Man, one of the greatest but most forgotten bands of the 90's.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:50 PM ^
Not in this house. We just took a respite from Xmas songs for a playing of August and Everything After.
Truly a soothing evening.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:43 PM ^
Username checks out.
December 25th, 2020 at 3:08 AM ^
Here's hoping the lyrics from their other song are prophetic:
A long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
December 24th, 2020 at 9:17 PM ^
I guess I’ve been asleep at the switch. When was DeBord made an analyst?
December 25th, 2020 at 10:43 AM ^
March of this year. It was all over Debord.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:26 PM ^
Huge get. Could be a 5 Star by the time he graduates high school. Notice the young mans footwork. Perfect. These are the type of recruits we need to get in order to close the gap with O$U.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:35 PM ^
Ok, dude. What you think is subtle OSU trolling is anything but. It is quite obvious and has been since you joined. I hope you get meaning out of MGoBoard.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:46 PM ^
You are totally right
December 24th, 2020 at 9:57 PM ^
Whatever. Not going to argue with you but when I see the recruits we get I'm excited for them. Either support the program or not.
December 24th, 2020 at 11:25 PM ^
Posting history says this is disingenuous bs.
Give the kid his moment ffs.
December 25th, 2020 at 12:53 AM ^
Umgrad is obsessed with ‘Ohio’. He is either Brady Hoke or an unusually insecure buckeye troll.
December 24th, 2020 at 9:46 PM ^
Welcome Connor, way to GoBlue!
December 24th, 2020 at 10:14 PM ^
How does Jim's staff keep recruiting at this level. Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:28 PM ^
Because they get Life better than you...by a mile. Jim is a good man who is committed to doing his best to lead more good young men. He has character. He has imperfect human integrity, for which many of us strive to reach on any given day. On top of that, he has thoughtful compassion, and he perserveres to find opportunities for others to experience life-changing, poignant moments, such as The Vatican, Mandela's cell, the Louvre, or who knows what other of myriad life travels that so many douchebags on this board might take for granted that many young men and women who struggle to earn a scholarship might never experience if not for Jim's vision.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:37 PM ^
I could care less about all that crap. They are getting an amazing education at a fantastic institution.
Now go win football games. Jim isnt getting $8 million a year to run “Big Brothers Big Sisters” at Michigan.
December 24th, 2020 at 11:03 PM ^
Congrats. We all want to win.
The argument made above in answer to the question asked (how do we keep recruiting well?) is to some degree that we provide opportunities that others don't. Surely that has some sway. For most recruits? Maybe not, and that's fine. But to some, and some parents, the guarantee of traveling abroad and growing up is worth something when there is no guarantee of making the NFL
December 24th, 2020 at 11:29 PM ^
Ed Warriner has earned the right to offer guys a year away from signing that have only 3 stars. One might assume, based on past results, he can project some outcomes.
This isn't "trust the coaches" but, rather, credibility that Warriner has earned.
December 25th, 2020 at 12:37 AM ^
A few fans think they can project High School OL talent better than Ed Warinner.
December 25th, 2020 at 1:47 AM ^
Only a few, though? This board far exceeds “few”
December 25th, 2020 at 12:55 AM ^
You *couldn’t* care less FFS. It shocks me how many people who claim to be Michigan grads can’t use that phrase properly.
December 25th, 2020 at 12:51 PM ^
I'm gonna assume you aren't responsible for managing the budget in Ann Arbor so Jim's salary is meaningless to you.
Nice fanboy pic with a college student
December 25th, 2020 at 12:48 AM ^
Yeah, it is crazy how Warriner keeps finding these guys ranked in the 500-800 range, who end up being 4* when they sign.
December 25th, 2020 at 8:49 AM ^
December 25th, 2020 at 12:38 PM ^
Out of all position groups to complain about, OL is not it
December 24th, 2020 at 10:28 PM ^
I dont mind taking a lower ranked guys for the O line. You never know how they will develop. He has good measurables. Not sure on his arm length though.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:32 PM ^
One would assume that someone who is 6'7 would not have T-Rex arms. But anything is possible. I like to think that he has Gorilla Arms instead.
December 25th, 2020 at 12:08 AM ^
I'm more concerned with his foot speed. But whatever, he won't be the only OL in this class. Hopefully he pans out.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:32 PM ^
Getting a Tackle from Monument sounds appropriate. Like getting a CB from Long Island.
December 24th, 2020 at 10:48 PM ^
Bingo bango
hail
December 24th, 2020 at 11:22 PM ^
Stop worrying about stars. This kid will be fine. He will develop into a great person whether it's through football or academics. Both should be equally important.
