I'm sorry. This team quit
I posted it earlier, but this is the Gods honest truth...These coaches, these players, this TEAM. Has quit.
The staff needs to go, Jim needs to go, Don needs to go. Players are giving up. That is a very, very bad sign. I posted that the first Michigan football game I can remember watching was against Colorado in 1994. Michigan lost in an all time great college football game. They played hard, got beat on a great play, and lost.
Between that game and tonight, through all the bullshit Michigan football has gone through I don't remember watching the players quit.
Tonight, they did. That's the death blow to any coaching regime if you ask me. Jim should leave tonight. Let these guys have their season. Clearly they don't want to play for this staff anymore.

I really don't think they are beating Rutgers next week. If they lose, that's the end.
Not that this shouldn't be the end, but there's no defending a loss to Rutgers.
November 14th, 2020 at 10:59 PM ^
I’ll be rooting for Rutgers
November 14th, 2020 at 10:57 PM ^
The quit, and showed no pride.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:43 PM ^
I wonder how well JJ’s recruiting pitch is working with all those recruits on campus tonight. What could he possibly say? “Hey, just think of the Michigan degree!”
November 14th, 2020 at 10:57 PM ^
Why are u sorry?
November 14th, 2020 at 10:57 PM ^
Do you blame them?
Why would you want to play for this guy anymore?
November 14th, 2020 at 11:04 PM ^
you still have to have integrity.
I don't know when Harbaugh lost it... somewhere in Columbus with a ten point lead in the fourth quarter... but its been downhill since.
And our players are just going through the motions.
Fire everyone.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:07 PM ^
Nah.
In football or life, if the person at the top is incompetent or doesn't give a shit, why would you expect the players/employees to try?
Harbaugh's mentally gone. I do not blame the players one iota.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:32 PM ^
This is not on the players. It is easy to see they are not being taught proper technique and are not being put in a position to be successful. It’s really sad to see.
Fire Harbaugh and Brown tonight so the kids who have committed their time and effort are rewarded with at least being able to enjoy playing win or lose.

It really is 2014 all over again and it sits squarely on Jim’s shoulders. I will not thank him for a thing when he walks. It’s a shame because it looked so good in 2016.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:06 PM ^
2014 just without a few non conference games to make it look not as bad somehow.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:33 PM ^
Looked so good in 2016 ... with Hoke’s players. FIFY.
November 15th, 2020 at 12:28 AM ^
Hoke’s recruits were top notch apparently
November 14th, 2020 at 10:59 PM ^
They quit after MSU.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:38 PM ^
This team quit before the MSU game. They laid down at the start and have never gotten up.
November 14th, 2020 at 10:59 PM ^
Tough to argue against that assessment. They came close to quitting in Madison last season, but didn’t. Tonight they did, and unfortunately, I almost expected it.
November 14th, 2020 at 10:59 PM ^
They quit back in 2014 too. Just saying....
Never thought a Harbaugh coached team would quit either.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:02 PM ^
Not like this. That team went to Columbus and was tied going into the 4th against the future national champions. This years team will lose by 50+
November 14th, 2020 at 10:59 PM ^
I also quit.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:04 PM ^
Please tell me how. I want to. I can't help myself. I need help.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:00 PM ^
Don't blame the young men, blame the coaching staff. Would you want to play for this shitshow of a staff.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:00 PM ^
I really wish we would have lost to Army last year
November 14th, 2020 at 11:01 PM ^
In reality, this is probably a decade or more rebuild. Just looks at Nebraska, Texas, Tennessee, Florida State, etc ... You don't just hire a new coach and get better in a year or two. It's going to take a loooong time.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:03 PM ^
Oh come on, don't be ridiculous.
It doesn't take a decade to rebuild a program. Michigan's brand already does a lot of the heavy lifting.
You get a young, motivated coach in here who gives a shit and knows what he's doing and he could have them at the top in a few years.
November 15th, 2020 at 12:19 AM ^
We've tried 3 coaches in about 15 years and here we are. Combine that with the fact that the cupboard is more bare than when Harbaugh got here, we have no QB depth (still), and rona recruiting will favor the teams with in-state talent. I'd honestly be pumped if it only takes 10 more years at this point.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:05 PM ^
Not if you get the right guy.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:05 PM ^
Not if you get the right guy.
November 15th, 2020 at 2:03 AM ^
Tell that to Tressel. Or Meyer. Or Day. Instant impact immediately. And with the exception of Day, the other two coaches did have to do a bit of a rebuild to get the program on track.
November 15th, 2020 at 3:04 AM ^
Shut up. Bullshit.
Tressel took a loaded team and got over the Michigan hump to win titles. Urban took over a national title caliber team and just kept the ball rolling. I honestly think he shoulda won another NC or two but they choked a few times. Day was already part of what Urban built and took over a loaded team and just didn’t fuck it up. Instant impact my ass
November 15th, 2020 at 10:49 PM ^
Loaded? Maybe you forgot the Buckeyes in '99, 2000, and 2001, but I didn't. "I'm so sorry, Belisare". Tressel had a lot work ahead, especially at quarterback. Not to mention, Hoke had his best year with not his guys, as well as Harbaugh. And supposedly, Harbaugh has better talent now. Someone can't do anything with that? You just don't want to figure out that question and get someone who will do it. Who thought Tressel would do what he did? Nobody. Stop your excuses.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:02 PM ^
Yeah, but in fairness to the players, it’s got to be demoralizing as hell to constantly go out there with no game plan and have your coaches leave you out to dry by repeatedly calling the same crap plays that don’t work.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:04 PM ^
The defense spent the entire 1st quarter on the field. The defense is not good. But the offense is fucking inept. I know we’ve seen neck sharpies where Gattis has some good ideas, but he doesn’t know how to call a game. Add to that Joe Milton who decides where the ball is going pre snap. He got away with it at Minn because they had no d line and the first read was always open. Then you have the TEs as the focus of the passing game when you should be featuring either running backs or Bell, Jackson and sainristil.
I know Brian likes Milton, and he shows flashes sure, but he’s also part of the reason we end up in huge holes.
November 15th, 2020 at 12:20 AM ^
Milton throws some nice ropes but only NFL (and Bama) receivers would ever have a chance of catching them. He is literally incapable of putting touch on the ball.
McNamara looked better but there are just so many things wrong with the offense.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:33 PM ^
Tonight reminded me of the hoke era when we played Wisconsin and on a drive they ran it every play and we couldn't do anything about it!!!
November 14th, 2020 at 11:52 PM ^
Michigan never played Wisconsin during Hoke's four years. You're thinking of the 2010 game during RR's swan song.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:34 PM ^
I can’t believe the recruits haven’t bailed yet. JJ, Worthy, El-Hadi, Edwards, Colson, etc. We are bringing in some serious talent next year and I have no faith whatsoever that this staff will develop them.
OP is correct. This team quit and was watching the clock wind down from the 2nd quarter until the final whistle. That’s completely on the coaches. Rutgers got thumped by osu last week but they were running trick plays and fighting every play. Schiano was jumping, screaming, and coaching hard the entire game. Our coaches look disinterested and defeated. I know it’s been said a million times, but this isn’t the same Jim Harbaugh that Michigan hired. Gregg Henson might be a fake insider, but I bet he’s right about the administration forcing Harbaugh to tone it down and they broke him. He’s the complete opposite of what I thought he would be.
November 14th, 2020 at 11:42 PM ^
I agree with your general message, but...
Between that game and tonight, through all the bullshit Michigan football has gone through I don't remember watching the players quit.
That is not remotely true lol. There were numerous games where Michigan football players were clearly done in the Rich Rod and Hoke days. 2010 Mississippi State and 2014 Maryland come to mind immediately. 2014 Utah, Minnesota...
November 15th, 2020 at 12:18 AM ^
yeah, they all got high before the app state game too -- idk, wont say too much more because we're obviously all fucked up right
November 15th, 2020 at 12:03 AM ^
So you're giving them credit for having ever entered the fray?
November 15th, 2020 at 12:34 AM ^
If I'm a player, I'm opting out the rest of the season.
November 15th, 2020 at 12:59 AM ^
JH's best coaching was in the NFL and his first 2 years at Michigan. After that, he has been a huge disappointment.
The QB position has been a huge problem for almost a decade. Harbaugh was supposed to be the guy to fix that. Our QB's play like garbage.
The fact that he has not received a contract extension says everything you need to know. There has to be something behind the scenes. Whatever it is, it's time to move on. No more Michigan Man bullshit.
November 15th, 2020 at 7:16 AM ^
If you have seven captains, you have zero captains.
November 15th, 2020 at 8:06 AM ^
No spark all night. I could see it in the teams eyes after they got down 21. The 2 interceptions early set the tone for the whole game.
How in hell does a team that is supposed to be good get 1 yard in a quarter of play?
ONE FREAKIN' YARD.
