OT - Outside the gameday lockerroom
So cool story bro and all that.. I attended a Dell event at Michigan Stadium and part of that meeting was a tour of the Big House / gameday locker room. Outside of the locker room is this mural. I thought it was interesting to see, and as a long time fan of the program, I've never had a chance to see the behind the scenes stuff in the tunnel. Long story short, do you notice what coach is NOT listed?
Also, the suites look like an awesome place to see a game. Feel free to downvote away if you feel you need to.
The suites are obviously very nice, but not my cup of tea for the gameday experience. It's like watching a football game in a hotel room with people you don't really like and aren't paying enough attention.
I would be interested in experiencing it once, if only for the fact it would get you out of the elements if it was super hot / rainy.
Also, Anthony A-Train Thomas was flown in and I had a chance to meet him. Super nice guy, is coaching a high school team in Texas.
Also, Terry Richardson is now a Dell rep. Was quite an event.
Interesting. Yeah, definitely fantastic for rainy games. They're nice, super comfy and all that, but outside of rain, I'd rather be in the stands.
I would love a suit if I owned it and could invite whoever I want. I don’t own a suit, only go in invitation. In this case, stands are better.
A man with your name owns a suit, probably more than one... I know you meant suite, but words still matter, right?
I only own one suit. Mainly use it for weddings and funerals. Wouldn't be comfortable with it at a football game.
The gameday experience...
Being told to sit down, if you're over 6' 200 lbs you have no room when sitting. Also you must fast for the four hour game otherwise you have to hand your credit card over to concessions.
I've always said this, too but after sitting through the Utah Hurricane game or the Minnesota night game, the suite sounds pretty good
That picture doesn't look like a suite as most of them seat 16 people and separate from each other. I think that might be stadium club seats. One of the levels (300) has indoor portion between the 30 yard lines.
Has anybody on this blog ever seen a game from the suites? What is it like?
For my money, I would like an outdoor Club seat that is slightly under the overhang. You are reasonably protected from rain, but you are not sealed away from the actual game environment. And I believe that you have access to the indoor suite-level concourse / restrooms / concessions.
And having an actual seat is nice if your butt is not just 9" wide.
But the suites themselves seem like a do-it-once-for-the-experience kind of thing, but after that they seem a little synthetic and detached from the game.
Is that what it is like, or is that off base?
I like being closer to the field if I'm at the game.
I love the club seats where you can sit outside to watch the game. They give you access to bathrooms that don't have eleventy billion people in line.
One of the weirdest places in the big house during a game is the media level in the press box. Dead silent no matter how hype the game is.
Lol where’s rich rod
Wonder if he’s not present because he’s the only coach with a losing record.
Maybe. There is now all the shady shit that happened at Arizona.
Ummm...no.
Remember - the spread offense under RR is bad. The spread offense under Harbaugh is good.
Ah, man, I don't know if I want to relive the RichRod flamewars, but Gattis' spread will likely be FAR different from RR's.
Side note: it's a white eagle, not a falcon. Honestly, I have to think you're faking being Polish (my wife is second generation Polish so I know this shit).
Wearing that red wristband made him ineligible.
They could've at least put Josh Groban in there.
He's not a Michigan man lol. I think if they kept RR off they should have kept Hoke off as well. He had one good season his first, then things went down hill with a sub .500 record in his final year, by then he knew he was over his head.
They kept RR off because not only was he a trash coach he was trash person. He is a complete shitbird!!
Hoke struggled as a coach no doubt but Hoke is loved by everyone as a person. And Hoke wasn't all bad he did leave the program having recruited the single most kids ever drafted from Michigan. Not his fault RR thought football was headed to be played with no OL.
Wow, if I could neg you a million times, I really would. RR was a very good person. Just because he got shafted at UM doesn't mean you need to denigrate him. Geesh what did he do to you?
He 100% was not a good person at Michigan. But hey you RR lovers go right ahead. Should of been fired for his bar incident in Saline.
there, fixed
Thank you, Middle Tennessee State Football Twitter account
"You raise me up, Swayze" ~ RR
I think they should have done it like a high school yearbook and had a small listing under the header "Not Pictured" in the corner with Rodriguez's name listed. That way, it makes it seem like he missed both picture day and the makeup day (which always seemed uncomfortably close to the actual publication deadlines for the yearbook, but whatever...)
He missed the defensive team meeting....all of them.
I thought the reference was to Jim Harbaugh.....
Hoke in a classic clapping pose
That was my first observation. Followed by amaizement at the incredible Wolverine players.
Of course, the first thing you do is check to see how many arms he has.
i think that paint job is relatively new. was in the tunnel for the minnesota game when hudson had about 110 sacks and i don't remember that mural. maybe i wasn't paying attention.
No, it wasn't there last year. Went through there at Homecoming work the Alumni Band.
That is a hall going north off of the tunnel. It leads to the media room, referee's room, bathrooms and then on to the Roth tower entrance. That mural has been there for at least 4 or 5 years. That hall is level, has resilient flooring and has cinder block walls. The tunnel is sloped, has rubberized turf, and white concrete walls. To say this is outside the locker room is a stretch...it is roughly under sections 41 or 42.
Assuming it was created before Harbaugh was hired. Otherwise he’d be in it.
I was there last summer and it wasn't there.
No RichRod on the wall, ehh? Wow, the powers that be really want to wipe those memories from the face of the earth, don’t they?
As Brady would say, “ well...”
As Brady would say .... *clap clap clap*
My thoughts exactly ...
Hoke wasn't really any better. I don't get it.
He won a Sugar Bowl (flukey as it may have been), beat an OSU team (yes they were 6-7 that year but we’re in no position to be picky about how we beat them these days), and even when they lost to OSU, his teams always got up to play those guys. RichRod teams often played their absolute worst against OSU. Or darn close to it.
Yeah Hoke’s teams got worse over time while RichRod’s teams got better, but Hoke still accomplished far more here than RichRod ever did. Even if he bumbled his way into those results, they still happened.
Rich Rod gave up 65 to Illinois and over 30+ to every Big Ten team expect Purdue.
It/He was embarrassing to watch
Is Harbaugh missing, too? Maybe it's coaches that have beaten OSU earn a place on the wall.
Harbaugh isn't even on there as a player
That picture of Hoke has to be a troll job. He's simultaneously clapping and looking confused. Classic Hoke. Maybe they couldn't find any other photos.
But holy shit Hoke is now the Dline coach at SDSU. How many former head coaches return later to the same school as a position coach?
