Anyone else concerned about the Army game?
Thanks for the opportunity to downvote you. Why would anyone be concerned? The only game that matters is Ohio State.
You're a fucking idiot
Lol.
A few student athletes not on the flight to S.A. Spider is only confirmed missing, but there are more.
cheers
FYI - not all the players attend these trips if you are looking for deeper meaning from that info.
i specifically remember that David Long wasn’t on the Paris trip. There were several other but he is the only one I specifically remember.
Why does someone like you watch sports? If you can't be happy unless one thing out of 12 weeks happens, what's the point? You do realize that sports are meant to entertain, right?
I look forward to each and every game. To the "fans" who do not... I don't understand.
I look forward to every game as well.... but I can't say I worry about them months before the season starts
Honestly, I'd rather we didn't have Army on the schedule, and I think we'll be very fortunate if we beat them.
So I'm not looking forward to that game, no...
Nothing to gain, plenty to lose, including DL knees on option run cut blocking.
Expect a big win. You should know this by now -- I like to keep expectations high before November.
I don't know why you're getting downvoted. They might be the scariest team on the first half of the schedule.
Down voted simply because he's WD. There are people here that will down vote anything - and everything - he writes, regardless of subject, content, or quality.
I downvoted because it’s ridiculous to worry about a game that will mean nothing if we lose to Osu. If we go 11-0 and lose to them again, I will lose my mind. Do I want Michigan to win every game, of course I do, but every game is basically a scrimmage until Osu in my opinion. Harbaugh has proved he can win basically any game except Osu, so no reason to be worried about anything else besides Osu. I have no reason not to like a devoted Wolverine fan.
Give me a break.
You’ll have a meltdown if we don’t beat Army. We all know what game is important and must win. That doesn’t mean the other 11 don’t matter.
All the dopes around here back in December who were calling the bowl “meaningless” were the loudest when we lost.
If only 1 game matters and nothing more go away until that game is played. The rest of us will talk about the gameS because that’s what normal people do.
It's May 2nd, pump the breaks for a while.
Indeed. He should spend his time making a UFR for the Natty that the cheerleading squad just won.
Break it up, break it up break down!
I won’t have a meltdown, but ok.
When we lost the bowl game I didn’t care, I went along with my day.
To your last point.. now I see why people don’t like you.
Just on record I never thought the bowl game was meaningless and I flipped a shit when we lost. I think most Michigan fans cared about the bowl game.
It was hard for me to care about a game that the players themselves obviously didn’t care about well before it started.
what normal people do is worry about the game as it approaches; not 4 months away. Wait at least until summer practice starts and we start having daily updates
In the mean time I have plenty of things to actually worry about.
What if we BEAT osu and lose to army? That would really make that suck twice as bad then.
I saw them play twice last year (EMU and NAVY games) and they are finely drilled and have strategic talent..
Two of the players come by our house in NC where they graduated HS with my daughter and are absolutely not fazed by playing anyone because of their mission statement and team "buy in" to the program's culture and momentum.
Michigan will win but Army is definitely a cut above some of the cupcakes who have passed through Ann Arbor in recent years and will be a fun competition because of the dramatically diverse game plans.....
Go Blue!
Down voted simply because he's WD.
Not at all.
WD EARNS his downvotes. Don't be captivated by softball and lacrosse posts. He's a jerk through and through. Check out his twitter if you're ever bored and see the pissing contests he starts there. Or the replies to others in here who, *gasp*, have the stones to disagree with WD.
You sure seem to post a lot about me. Are you that peeved because I blocked you on twitter or something? It’s just the internet.
Oooooooo... you blocked me.
How?
I don't have a twitter account. I read it but don't post and sink to your level.
It’s just the internet.
Oh, so that's an excuse to be a shitty human being?! Okay, carry on then degree-less clown.
Sure ya don’t, buddy. Sure ya don’t. You must have had tears welling up in your eyes as you wrote that post. I can feel your anger through my screen.
Also I know you’re new here (You probably aren’t) but people who have been around for awhile on this site know where I went to school and got my bachelor’s degree last year. But sick attempted academia burn.
Of all the things I’ve been called “degree-less clown” is among the most puzzling.
Dude. You are making a complete fool of yourself, but that's about on par I guess. I'm not talking about the thread, but your replies here. Seriously. Stop for a minute and read your responses out loud to yourself. If that doesn't make you rethink it, then I guess it's hopeless.
You think far too highly of yourself, and your twitter account. Hard to believe, but most people don't use twitter. I don't.
Hilarious how WD thinks the internet is a thing in so far as everyone has Twitter and blocking someone is such a burn. Reminds me of my Borderline Personality Disordered sister in law who actually keeps tracks of "likes" on FB and may unfriend you if you don't like her posts enough.
but your replies here
Just as I wrote:
Or the replies to others in here
I guess it's time for another non-revenue sports post on his part to make the lemmings fawn all over him and the work WD supposedly does.
Like I said, WD will do anything to rationalize that he's just a jerk.
“degree-less clown” is among the most puzzling.
You have a Michigan degree? Hmmm.
The truly puzzling thing here is how you put down those with Michigan degrees (hence why I used it against you) yet you cannot even get into Michigan.
Moreover, you'll mock those with degrees from rival schools simply because of athletics... all the while your greatest accomplishment in life is writing a check to a school which will never accept you.
It's time you spent less time on the internet and more time examining your own behavior.
WD, what you’re actually doing is comparing our defense with OU’s defense. Even with losing Chase, Gary, Bush and Long, we will have a far better defense in 2019 than OU had last year. Last year’s “yeah, but...” about OU was all about their defense. They couldn’t stop anyone.
Don Brown just claimed that this is his deepest DL ever and fastest overall team. I’m not saying that playing Army won’t be a challenge, but I think being concerned based on how they performed vs OU last year is not the best argument.
I don't know if they are THAT far apart. Oklahoma's passing offense was bad (89th in S&P+) but their rush defense finished 57th in S&P+. Michigan finished 23rd. From a pure yards per attempt standpoint Michigan gave up 3.68 per rush (31st in CFB) and Oklahoma 4.08 per attempt (51st).
I don't think its that much of a stretch to say a Michigan rush defense that is losing Gary, Winovich, Mone, Bush, and even McCray is going to be closer to what Oklahoma fielded as a rush defense last year than what Michigan finished the year with. Especially in game two.
If Michigan finished in the top 30 as a rush defense to end the year, I wouldn't be surprised. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they aren't getting gashed on the ground to start the year.
If its a hot September day in Ann Arbor and Army is pounding away with an offense that returns a lot of experience and Michigan is throwing true freshman out there for depth...that's gonna be a bad time.
I agree with you DW. Although Army runs the triple option, we have a much better defense than Oklahoma had last year. We have done fairly well defending it with Don Brown.
Of course. I’m taking this Friday off to prepare.
I kid. I like you WD. Keep doing what you do.
You should be more concerned with the paint job on your car, WD.

Silver with scarlet taillights is NOT a good look, especially for someone calling himself "Wolverine Devotee".
Now that you mention it...
It's May 2nd, so...no.
Certainly going to need to take the day before that game off work so I can mentally focus on the task at hand.

Wait...Night King...aren’t you dead?!??
or... is he?
Yes. After seven seasons of mythology and existential crisis, he was stabbed after an hour of war by somebody(who did not use her extremely effective and circumstantially relevant special ability that took years to establish), while attempting to accost somebody else who evidently has absolutely no impact on anything that has or will happen in the story (despite his own seven years of mythology).
#couldhavedonealotbetterthanthat
Agreed, this episode felt like it was an obligatory checking of the boxes so they could get back to what they were really interested in. What a fail.
I will not allow what has happened in the last two seasons to take away from the masterpiece of a show that GOT was for nearly six seasons, but I can no longer ignore what has happened to it since.
There is still a chance that they will take a risk and do something memorable, but I can't help but feel that we are looking at a series finale with Jon and Dany playing kissy face on the Iron Throne surrounded by teary eyed smiles and failed witty quips.
There is no chance it ends with a "happy ever after" for Dany and Jon. If it does, I think most fans would be disappointed. Not once has a season ended without major characters getting axed/curve balls occurring
Nobody of consequence has died on the show since Stannis Baratheon and even that was because there was because his narrative was over and they did not have anything left to do with him. I guess Ramsey Bolton, but nobody thought he was going to be a major player as to the "conclusion" of the central themes of the show. The deaths on Sunday were long overdue deaths of peripheral characters who no longer had any narrative purpose on the show.
I don't think the writers/show runners are looking for shocking, clever, or curve balls anymore. I think they want neat and tidy. I think that is what we are going to get. I would love to be wrong.
I get the feeling Dany is going to order one of her Dragons to burn him alive after he helps her win the battle for the throne. The look on her face when she found out his true identity - pure rage. She wants that throne more than anything, even Jon. Her whole life has been a fight for it. No way she gives it up on a technicality.
Yup. Return like 21 of 22 starters. Very concerned.
I don't get the hand-wringing over the Army game. Yes it's an annoying single-game offense to prep for but last year Army lost to Duke by 20, beat Hawaii by 7, beat Miami of Ohio by 1 in 2OT, beat Air Force by 3 and Navy by 7. They scored an average of 29 ppg in the regular season.
They played Oklahoma tough in game where they managed to score 21 points including OT and scored 21 or less points in 4 games last year.
The only other impressive thing they did was shell a Houston team in the bowl game that was chock full of issues under Major Applewhite that already lost to Texas Tech, Temple, Memphis and SMU last year. Houston's best win last year was against....USF? im having trouble naming one.
Im not that scared of Army Football. (But thank them for their service)
