Tiger Woods wins Masters

Never been a fan of him and didn’t think he could do it, but cool to see someone overcome such tough life obstacles. Congratulations to him. What is everyone’s reaction to this?

Interesting stretch there, Chalky. Your political views are warranted here. I choose to root for humans who deserve redemption. As a father and husband, I recognize my value to my family. I fully commit. A man who sleeps around isn’t committed as a father. I do judge that, now feel free to judge me.

No one will argue that cheating on your wife is a decent thing to do, but I think you underestimate the effect of being thrust into fame while relatively young and inevitably having opportunities with pretty much anyone you want.

Not condoning his behavior, but he was put into a position where a LOT of men would fail. I'm not going to judge too harshly.

Yea. There’s not people who’ve experienced the same reality and not chosen his behaviors. He really doesn’t care what any of us think, for or against. To defend, rationalize or be indifferent to the choices, not the golfer, speaks a little about people as individuals not fans.

I work for a multi billion dollar company that is supposed to be not for profit. Our CEO cheated on his wife with an employee's wife. He dumped his own wife to marry the other guy's wife. He is still in his job because he makes a lot of money for the company and himself. This is one of the worst humans on Earth and he was put in and kept in his position on purpose.

Lets not forget he drove his car into a disabled state, while he himself was essentially functionally disabled.  Thank the good lord he didn't kill anyone.  Perhaps he has changed.  Infidelity hurts only your family....driving around fully and profoundly intoxicated has the potential to destroy many lives. He is a great golfer.  And he is also not a good person.  Simple as that.

Especially someone who hasn't walked a mile in his shoes. The guy was a kid when he was famous, freakin' 20 years plus old when he won the Masters then spent the next few years being a freakin' golf god; do you have any idea how many women threw themselves at him? This was before he got married; he was already addicted to sex when he married Elin and he couldn't stop.

As a guy, knowing how attracted I was to girls at that age, how difficult would it have been to not enjoy sexing girls at that time, being famous and rich and a stud golf god? I'm not judging...

Never been a fan of one of the most dominant athletes of your life time? Mmmk bro. I mean I suppose I could get it if you were to say his off course transgressions wrecked it for you but you said never.

I thought it was a great masters.

In other news, ESPN has its programming set for the next 72 hours. They'll be able to raise their rates for advertising "The General" and "5-hour Energy," too.

It *is* a great story.

He's been cold and calculating for much of his life ....... and because of such I've had a love-hate-love-hate-love-hate-love-hate-love relationship with him over the years.

But you could tell that was pure and authentic joy from him today.

Good for him, I'm happy for him.

Growing up I was a big golfer and Tiger was one of my idols. Then the personal stuff happened, other stories about the type of person he actually was, and the alleged steroid link, and I haven't really cheered for him since. Wasn't sure I was going to root for him today but regardless of how much of the adversity was created by himself, this was pretty damn cool to watch. The pure joy he showed in the celebration and hugging his kids, etc was goosebump inducing stuff. 4 back surgeries in 5-6 years, definitely one of the best comeback stories we have seen in sports. Hopefully the stories of his experiences changing him for the better personally to some degree are true as well.

Don’t watch golf much or care for it all that much, but was definitely cool to see Tiger climb all the way back from the depths and win again.

I’m sure he’s not the greatest human being, but still, cool to watch.

He was dialed in today. Certainly one of the more interesting story arcs for an athlete. He went from loved to hated to completely off the radar and back to being loved again.

Not giving him credit for putting out a fire HE started. How about his redemption is that he is a better PERSON that doesn’t treat others like shit?

Allegedly the people close to him say he has changed alot since then, hopefully that is true. But from a pure athletic standpoint you do have to give the man some credit for winning another major again after not even being sure he could play again after 4 back surgeries.
