I don't believe he formally announced one way or another, however, he was largely considered to not be a strong candidate to leave early.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
Here is an alternative, slightly less clunky title that reads a little better: "Is Hudson The Last Player We Are Waiting On To Announce?"
To answer your question...no idea...
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:04 PM ^
Announce what? If you want to be that guy
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
It's really weird that I can write 'clunky'(with little or no effort), but have a hard time understanding 'clunky'. Especially on message boards/blogs.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:19 PM ^
I think we should be a little indulgent with thread titles like this. Yes, there are some unnecessary words, but at least it accurately tells us what the thread is about, unlike some titles.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:25 PM ^
On the other hand, a more descriptive title reads "Is Khaleke Hudson the Only Remaining Player Who We Are Waiting to Declare whether or not He Has Retained an Agent to Enter the NFL Draft and Forego his Remaining College Eligibility".
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:28 PM ^
Khaleke? I don't really think that's an option. Under sized LB, or over sized safety.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:29 PM ^
well, Peppers is starting to play well so that may help his NFL cause
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:30 PM ^
Hudson won't be a safety in the NFL. He is not fast enough.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:42 PM ^
Draft sites have his 40 at anywhere from 4.47 to 4.52 and most credit his agility in the open field as a key asset. I don’t think speed will be an issue at the safety position.
January 3rd, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
Draft sites? They have no clue what his 40 time is. That's probably based on some self reported 40 time from a HS camp.
January 4th, 2019 at 12:53 PM ^
It's not all about 40 times at safety though. What's his shuttle? Does he have the ball skills and instincts needed to play in space at this level, let alone in the league? Imo, no. He can play LB with improvement though I think.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:44 PM ^
Peppers' athleticism is on another level compared to Khaleke, and that's no disrespect to Khaleke.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:58 PM ^
Well Peppers and Khaleke are two different players with different skill sets.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:58 PM ^
Cato June 2.0
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:14 PM ^
I think he comes back, something seemed off with him this year like he was pressing to hard he had a great 2017...I think he gets drafted after a rebound season end of the 2nd begginging of the 3rd. There are comparable players and positions in the league I’m thinking less Cato June and more Deonne Buchanan or Mark Barron
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:33 PM ^
All of those players that you mentioned started off in the backfield and moved closer to the line of scrimmage in more traditional linebacker roles once they got to the league.
Hudson already plays in the box so I’m looking at players that were able to make that transition in previous years. Larry Foote and Ian Gold were relatively undersized for their respective positions, especially for the era that they played, but they ended up in a similar or the same pro position that they played in college.
Matt Milano played viper for Don Brown at BC and is a 4-3 linebacker currently for the bills. I think he’s the best comparison right now for projecting Khaleke to the league. I don’t know what Hudson’s skill set would allow him to do in today’s NFL. I’m just not that in tune with what those positions call for but considering Milano and another undersized 4-3 LB in Lavonte David are assets to nfl teams, if he can play they’ll find a role for him.
January 4th, 2019 at 9:26 AM ^
I can see Milan that makes sense, I was looking at an athletic skills standpoint and if my memory serves me well it was a toss up between Khaleke and Metellus as to who was going to viper and who was going to safety after leper’s left.

Yes. I'm still deciding if i'm going to stay or go. But i'm open either way. Go.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
Who?
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:59 PM ^
Oh...how’s Greg Frey?
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
I think I'm in the majority here - I'd be shocked if he declared. He could really use a bounce back year.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:47 PM ^
Doesn't sound like he's likely to go (I think Brian said that Long was likely the last one likely to go). That said, I wouldn't call it a need to "bounce back". Hudson was fine last year, just used in a very different way than the prior year. He'll have solid film. In the end, it's a question of how he tests out.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
I’m interested in how you believe he was used differently? I ask in the sake of a good football conversation I thought his use in 2017 really was to his strengths letting play on the other side of the line of scrimmage...this year I thought he overran the same plays that he made the year before but was ultimately asked to do much of the same schematically.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:55 PM ^
I could be wrong, but I don't think he blitzed as much, he dropped back more and didn't have MN ignoring his existence.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:01 PM ^
Good lord that Minnesota game was fun to watch
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:00 PM ^
So could we all, if we're we're being honest.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:46 PM ^
Another year will do him (and all of us) a world of good.
January 3rd, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
That would be a cherry on the shit sundae.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:05 PM ^
A very underrated shit-ism. Even better than a shithawk flying over you when looking into the shit-abyss contemplating what shit might have been..
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:11 PM ^
Avoid the potty pigeon*. Seriously, we need him to set the tone next year.
January 4th, 2019 at 9:42 AM ^
It's a rope for f**ks****rs like those three. A rope for criminals. The harder you squeeze to the rope, the more you slide down it into the shit puddle.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:17 PM ^
He was emotional after the Florida game when he brought it up to Doug Karsch. I think that has passed. I would be surprised if he left.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:24 PM ^
is he the last question mark as far as entry to the NFL?
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
He was the only guy emotional DURING the Florida game
January 4th, 2019 at 12:18 AM ^
Yeah, that was painful to watch when he was going off on/firing up the defense and everyone just kind of looked like they wanted to go home.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
Any word on Al Washington??
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
Absolutely nothing definitive. Just as many that say he is not leaving as the number of people that said it is a possibility. Lots of email and messages exchanged today and I would call it a tie.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:47 PM ^
Cool. Not sure if you saw my apology in the other thread, but I would like to apologize for being a dickhead to you that night we had a bit of a row. Hope we're all good.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:16 PM ^
All forgiven. We all get a little pissed off at times.
January 4th, 2019 at 8:11 AM ^
What is this? People being civil on the internet? If this keeps going, I am going to have to post my crazy-ass Federal Reserve conspiracy theories and call someone Hitler.
January 4th, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
I know when I'm out of line. I was out of line, and as someone who got a few scoops this offseason, I learned how quickly things changed lol.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
Hudson was playing his heart out and was trying to motivate his team on sideline. Sure looked like a guy who was trying to get guys going for next year. In other words, coming back.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
I want him back from a leadership standpoint. He was the guy all fired up on the sideline after the d gave up a td, then went out and blocked the punt next series. Leaders lead.
January 3rd, 2019 at 7:52 PM ^
Not only that but he was also laying out to block every extra point well into the 4th quarter when the game had already been decided
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
Not to mention he ran down Franks from half way across the field on the transcontinental. The announcers tried to play if off like "Michigan was ready for it." In reality, Franks was about to go on a navarre-like rumble if not for Hudson splitting two blockers and running him down. Amazing play.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:57 PM ^
I feel like he was under utilized this year. I thought he was going to be the top defensive player. Not sure if that is on him or the scheme...
