Who's going to The Game?!

Submitted by Mr. Yost on

All sarcasm aside, some of us will be braving the cold, a rough year, and other team-related "headaches" to cheer on The Leaders and The Best.

Who's going? Care to share where you're sitting?

Any suggestions for the newbies?

At the end of the day, this IS Michigan Stadium. I don't care who's calling the plays or who's on the field, that's a big deal if you're a sports fan.

Driving up from Chicago. Happy for the early start so as to get home not-so-late. For many seasons we have parked behind Nichol's Arcade and strolled through campus with the students to the stadium. Lately the structure has been filling up earlier so get there early is my advice. And to answer the other thread, I would gladly pay more for stadium food that is better.

My gang in the row 20-29 portion of Section 4 will be there on Saturday come hell or high water.  It's been a disappointing season, obviously, but there's no way I won't be there to cheer on my team no matter how bleak this game might look.

You and I must sit very close together.  I have two sets of seats - two in Section three (row 27) and two in section four (I think those are on row 29).  My section four seats are next to my brother (he has two as well) and I just found out we're going to sit in the section four seats on Saturday.  If you see me (tall guy - about 6'5" & 240) and my wife Jill (the avatar) make sure to say hello!

I’m lucky enough to be attending The game for the 35thconsecutive year this Saturday.  My streak goes back to my freshman year in 1979 – the first Game after the Ten Year War.  I’ve seen Michigan go 10-8 at Michigan Stadium and 6-9-1 at Ohio Stadium over that span.  Tough to pick a favorite game in that span but seeing “Touchdown Tim” Biakabutuka unexpectedly rush for 313 yards and Chuck Woodson intercepting to seal the win in 1995 is probably my all time favorite.  A close second would be the four second half lead changes capped by Demetrius Brown’s 41 yard bomb to John Kolesar into the south end zone of the Snake Pit in 1988.  I’ll be cheering on the Maize and Blue from high up in Section 35 on Saturday after another awesome tailgate over on Pauline Ave.  I’m looking forward to getting out there on last time this year with all my tailgate friends.  My advice to the newbies:  Cheer hard, leave hoarse and don’t act like a Buckeye! Go Blue!

Spent way to much on a hotel, but then again I bought them in August when BTN (and I) had a raging boner for this years team. I haven't been to AA since 05' and I was under age...what bars should I check out?

Girlfriend got me tickets for my bday back in August. I'm still psyched to go, but when I received them in August I was expecting a much different feeling and attitude going into this weekend.

oh well.  I still get to do my favorite late November activities:  tailgating, whiskey drinking and football watching.  I will be sitting in student section and trying to convince my gf to not want to leave after the 1st quarter.

I wish I could go! I'm going to be at work a couple thousand mile away but i'm calling for a maize out at my job. Granted i'm the only Michigan fan that works there but  at least everyone will know who i support come Saturday.

...and I'm not patting myself on the back.

But the comments in this thread are why I still have hope in MGoBlog.

Pretty cool seeing where everyone is sitting and reading everyone talking about their gameday experience.

I hope like hell we pull out this win, maybe more than any other (outside of the ones that led to B1G Championships).

I hope our boys have it in them to gut out a huge victory for this program. At first when I read "rush the field" in this thread...I brushed it off. But you know what? FUCK IT. Win and I'm out there!

HAIL TO THE VICTORS! I believe.

I'm flying up from Florida on Wednesday. Section 20, Row 38. My first game in AA since UCONN 2010. Was at the bowl game this past year against South Carolina.

Haven't missed the game since I started attending in 1990 when I was nine. I'll be there Saturday yelling as loud as possible! Section 37 top row! Go blue!

Also any Michigan fan who sells their tickets to ohio fans should be ashamed! I hope we win just so those fair weather fans have to live with missing out on one of the biggest upsets ever in the rivalry!

Bought 4 tix from a Suckeye fan. I'm going with my 9 year old, my wife's cousin, and a fourth person (unknown) but one thing is for sure is that it will be 4 Michigan fans together cheering for Team 134.
We will be driving up from Columbus at 5AM that morning. Anyone have a kid friendly tailgate we could crash? Go Blue!

So, hell yes, I will be there on Sat. cheering for what could be the greatest upset in the rivalry. There's a reason why they play the games and I'm sure Brady is telling this team that no one outside of their meeting room thinks they have a chance. I'm sure today's smack from C-bus is getting airplay, too.

Yes, I'll be there.  Section 34 row 93.  Hoping to God there are not obnoxious, drunken OSU fans in the public seats right next to me but I think there probably will be.

Up from Missouri leaving after Thanksgiving dinner and hitting random black friday stores along the way.  Starting to think I should have just gone to a game such as Central Michigan back when we were winning and the weather was nice.

Since leaving Michigan I no longer own a coat though.

*thinks back to years of past with 1-4 loss teams spanked OSU*  \smiles

*comes back to reality and current tense*  FxxK! \gives OSU one finger salute

hell yeah I'll be there. I will say the encouraging thing is it seems like a lot of UM fans are going...or at least acting like it. I was there in 2009 and even leading up to the game it didn't seem like anyone was going.

section 20 row 88.  When i first got my season tickets (2009), i was upset at being in row 88, but I really like sitting there.  Its so easy to get in and out now that we can use the upper concourse.  I can leave duing a break in the game and buy a drink or use the bathroom and not miss much, if any of the game.  Just hope we play with toughness, desire and heart.  If we do, we can win.  We have the players to do it.  They just need to play at the top of thier game and make no mistakes.  Wouldnt hurt if osu made a few mistakes as well.
