Darrell Funk for one. That Oline was an abortion on wheels today
September 14th, 2013 at 3:41 PM ^
It's not the first time. Funk should be on the hot seat through the end of the year.

and we still can't run the damn ball. Where is the accountability at for the coaches? I now realize why our O-line looks so good in practice when they go against a D-line that can't pressure.
September 14th, 2013 at 4:25 PM ^
We cannot run the ball without the QB, and we are in year three of that. Don't get me wrong, I love Hoke--but this is now a real problem extending over time. Because I love him I can only think the problem is talent and Funk. But talent should not be a problem this year.
September 14th, 2013 at 5:59 PM ^
Are we already forgetting Fitz putting up 1000 yards and 5.6 yds/carry in 2011?
September 14th, 2013 at 6:07 PM ^
With guys he coached for less than 6 months before the season. Most of the kudos for that effort belongs with Richrod
September 14th, 2013 at 6:33 PM ^
I disagree. The RB's did not put up stats like that under RR. I think you can put it on a good, veteran OL for how good the RB's did in 2011.
And coaches can do an awful lot in 6 months timeframe....just look at what Mattison did in the same 6 month timeframe. Molk won the Rimington and Lewan has turned into a future 1st round pick, that didn't happen without coaching. I'm waiting to judge Funk until these recruits get a couple years in the program. Watching Kalis' development this season will be telling too.

Exactly, are we picking on Funk because he's an easy target? Who's going to hold Hoke accountable? Is Dave Brandon going to rip into him?

That "win" should count for half a loss.

Again, it is a win. Games like this happen, but at least it ended with a win.

before it inevitably becomes an issue, personal stuff on players is going to get that poster banned. Talk about their play all you want, how they messed up all you want, but we're not having personal attacks on players posted on MGoBoard.

But that's what happens when you have to actively look for it. Still, I don't think it's all that common here, but it was looking like there might be a few people too close to the ledge in the game threads so I thought a reminder/warning might head off some really crazy talk.
I think it's more common with the basketball team, but I hate it enough that I'd rather be annoying and say something unnecessary if I think it has any chance to help stop it.

Kittens and pink background for 3 days. I have not felt that bad about a Michigan team since 2008.

3-0 is a helluva lot better than 2-1 and a loss to Akron. I'm going to leave it at that for the weekend. Props to Terry Bowden for a good, great, gameplan and coming up to the Big House to battle a team that's supposed to be superior in every facet of the game. Go Blue. Have a good weekend guys.

Nebraska is gettin' their ass kicked...
Nope, that doesn't really help at all. :(
September 14th, 2013 at 4:08 PM ^
Up 21-3, Nebraska was making the B1G look good. 38 straight points later, well...WTF?

If we would have lost, Hoke would have been on the hot seat. I still blame him for not having the team ready. I'm concerned for the remainder of the season. I have to go back now to my original projection of 8-4 after upping it after the ND win. We are not a good football team now and not saying we cannot be a good football team by the end of the season.

And remember Notre Dame made it to the championship last year with some ugly games. I'm not saying we are heading to a championship game, but shit happens.

No need for all that 'champ' talk, but I agree that any mention of a 'hot seat' is way off base.

I think the fumble was worse than two of the INT's. And if the D had showed up in the 2nd half it wouldn't have mattered. The D really crapped the bed.

I am going for a run.
Need to "exercise" (sic) these demons :)
Years from now, we will be happy this was a narrow win and not a narrow loss...

Starters had to play the whole game. Who would have thought it.
Just goes to show you just how much emotion plays into the outcome of games.
I never thought I would have felt so deflated after a win.
September 14th, 2013 at 3:28 PM ^
- Interior O-line sucks
- Can't get pressure w/ 4
- Fitz still bounces
- Gardner still needs to work on decision making
- Secondary wasn't great, but you can't expect them to be when the QB has all day
September 14th, 2013 at 3:45 PM ^
most of the time, not sure what is going on with him. O-line, nuff said. I don't think Miller made a block all game and Glasgow is never around the play.
