Something strikes me as odd here.... #6 class in the nation Providence - 4 commits, 2 in the top 100 (#'s 21 and 23) #14 class in the nation Michigan - 4 commits, 3 in the top 100 (#'s 18, 27 and 76) Uhhhh, what? |

Talking to some Duke friends, they are all thrilled he's gone....most of them never thought he fit in from the get go. I'll admit, his style of game never seemed to be the Duke style. |

This has to do with perspective and nothing to do with understanding English....one person's view of strongly considering is not another person's view of strongly considering. To me, Burke going to a draft advisor and weighing things with his parents is strongly considering the NBA. |

Maybe I'm crazy, but the title depicts exactly what is happening in my opinion....the only thing you can question is the word "strongly", but based on his Dad's quotes, I'd say he's pretty strongly considering the NBA. Given he and his Dad's relationship, I'd say he's not just saying these things w/o reason. |

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but his father's quotes seem to me that he's leaning NBA at the moment....but could depend on if he's 1st round material, which I assure you some agent will tell him he is |
| 9 weeks 2 days ago | Addendum |
As an addendum to this, I volunteered for the athletic department (doing stats) at the time so I was in the press box for that entire weekend (literally like noon-11 pm both days) and while the cheerleaders were out there, a large chunk of the student section were waving dollar bills in the air at them and yelling "Jer-sey Cha-sers <clap> <clap> <clapclapclap>". Later, both teams were doing their skating warmups, the cheerleaders and mascot were taking up the entire blue line-to-blue line area and those of us in the press box were like "Hey, if you want to bring your skating cheerleaders, keep them on your side of the ice" and the team was visibly annoyed with this because they were still skating out to the red line, cutting back around them and then back almost to the red line. One of the other student volunteers commented to me "How hilarious would it be if one of the players took out one of the cheerleaders" and we looked at each other and both said "Komisarek....it'll definitely be Komisarek if that happens" and literally right after we said that, he gave that girl the love tap that caused her to slightly lose her balance. We both looked at each other and busted up laughing. As for the Ortmeyer hit, a couple things to note about it. One, you'll notice that Ortmeyer breaks his stick on the hit up near the top of the stick, where it met Hendricks' shoulder basically, and Ortmeyer only had one hand on the stick when the hit occurs, meaning he hit him so hard, his force breaks his stick off where it met Hendricks' shoulder....insane. Two, up in the press box we had a TV with the game's feed in case of goal reviews, etc and once play had started back up again, they showed Hendricks on the end of the bench and they were giving him smelling salts, but the dude was gone. He looked like a vegetable....luckily, he was fine and has had a fine professional career (the past 3 seasons played entirely at the NHL level). One of the best 5 hockey hits I've ever seen. Also, to note about the SCSU game, that was the year that Canada beat the US for the gold medal in SLC and the famous loonie that was buried in the ice for good luck for Canada (now in the hockey HOF). So Michigan had buried a block M in the ice for this tournament, but the SCSU players got wind of it and dug it up and ripped it out during their practice, creating quite a bunch of animosity pre-game, much like Denver forcing Michigan to use the visitors' locker room. In the post-game press conference, Hartigan was a mess....dude didn't look up once, just had his eyes buried to the ground. When he spoke, he was barely audible and completely blamed himself for the loss after deking out Blackburn and having an easy, wide open net, only to see the puck squirt off the end of his stick towards the corner. As for the Denver game, somebody mentioned this, but the press box was literally swaying after Ortmeyer's goal. It was really freaky and kind of unnerving. But at the same time, I was on cloud nine so cared less than I normally would have about the press box possibly toppling down. Thanks for the memories....I must tell this story once a year to some new hockey friend of mine. Can't believe it's been 10 years, I remember it so vividly. |

Not sure if there's any doubting this class will finish Top 5 on Rivals....question is if it will be #1. If they land 5 more Rivals250 guys, that will be 17 in the Rivals250, which is the same number Alabama had in their #1 rated 2012 class. Again, caveats of guys moving down in the rankings and maybe not having a large enough class to finish #1, but still, my point is made. EDIT: I take that back, Alabama had 16 in the Rivals250, 1 of their 4-star guys fell outside the Rivals250....they had 9 Rivals100 guys. |

Here's something interesting to think about....if Hoke lands Levenberry, Isaac, Treadwell and O'Daniel (all guys that you could say UM leads for), he would have landed 9 players ranked in the top 60 according to Rivals. I know these rankings aren't final and I expect some guys to move down (some guys could also move up....Helmholdt even mentioned the only reason Dymonte wasn't higher was due to lack of film of him in coverage) and there could be decommits, but I don't care what OSU fans say, there would be no way Urban could beat that class given who they are after....again, according to Rivals. Michigan also has a legit shot with Fuller, Cravens, Vanderdoes and Poggi, all top 60 guys. |
| 11 weeks 3 days ago | So does it look like this? |
Win 0 games - drop to a 4? Win 1 game - stay at 3 Win 2 games - possibly move to a 2? Win all 3 games - move to a 2 |

Don't forget how the majority think that Urban was killing Hoke in recruiting the moment he arrived, forgetting to mention the only uncommitted guy Meyer got over Hoke was Reeves....they bring up how Spence, Washington, Pittman, Williams, etc were all offered by UM, failing to mention how UM stopped recruiting them because they were all set at DL and LB. |
