deletion 3,2,1, ...! # JH4 = BOSS !

Looks like you picked the wrong thread to IBD
February 1st, 2015 at 2:33 PM ^
The post was meant to the multiple postings of Deontay's commitment. Wasn't intended to be sarcastic as I knew the other two posts would be deleted.

Understood, I'm glad either way because my snarky comment finally put me over the 100 point threshold
February 1st, 2015 at 1:59 PM ^
Good.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:01 PM ^
Nice. WR is probably the position group that needs an infusion of talent the most.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:02 PM ^
What does this mean about Van Jefferson?
February 1st, 2015 at 2:08 PM ^
I think Burnett is a slot and Jefferson is outside
February 1st, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
247 says we're still looking to flip Van Jefferson but he won't decide until Wednesday
February 1st, 2015 at 2:38 PM ^
Jefferson is reported to still have a spot if he wants it. I'm too lazy to check but I believe Lorenz tweeted that or wrote it up on 247.

With my pick in, #Michigan has now overtaken the lead for Van Jefferson on #CrystalBall http://t.co/3vUX7Lecjz @TremendousUM

Some details ----
3-star WR to all four major sites.
247 composite has him as the #85 WR, #688 overall in the country.
Offers from Washington St. (committed since 7/14/14), Arizona St., Colorado St., Miami, and Utah.
According to 247, 6'0.5", 165 lbs. 4.69 40m.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
4.69 seems a little slow for a slot receiver... Is that right?
February 1st, 2015 at 2:49 PM ^
If those physical stats are accurate, he's not big and he's not a burner, and his offer sheet is OK but not attention-getting. Does he have particularly notable ball skills or route-running chops? Just curious.
Probably not the kind of thing Roy Manning wanted to see happen in his first week on the job in Pullman.
February 1st, 2015 at 3:08 PM ^
Those are really common measurables for Leach receivers, Welker ran a 4.65 at the combine. So I choose to say he's like Welker, only taller.

And more melanin too.

And more melanin too.

if you're gonna double post, might as well make it racial. LOL
February 1st, 2015 at 2:19 PM ^
Surprised by the 40 time. Kid is either really slow or he didn't get the benefit of the normal .1 to .2 bump. Anyone know his game that can comment?

Watch his highlight. He doesn't seem slow at all. At least not to me. Seems like one of the faster WRs we have gotten recently

Love the way this kid plays....I see what the coaches like about him.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:10 PM ^
6'1 166? That is one skinny dude.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:13 PM ^
Agreed. He might still be filling in though. Rivals still has him at 5'11 159.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:14 PM ^
Still could use a little more weight though.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:32 PM ^
...that is one chubby dude.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:38 PM ^
as a shy, skinny little guy Bo pulled out of Florida some 35 years or so ago.
Welcome to Michigan, Deontay!!
February 1st, 2015 at 4:02 PM ^
Please.
February 1st, 2015 at 4:41 PM ^
impossible for him to be any skinnier than drake harris.
not ideal but plenty of WRs play at around 6'0" 175
February 1st, 2015 at 2:14 PM ^
Robert Woods (USC, NFL), Marquise Lee (USC, NFL), George Farmar (USC, declared for NFL draft), Adoree Jackson (USC)...simply getting a commit from Serra is amazing and if he is half as good as his predecessors...we will have a nice receiver!
February 1st, 2015 at 3:56 PM ^
This is actually a trend of a lot of the players who were offered. Powerhouse high schools, will pay dividends next year.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:15 PM ^
I had wondered what the spike in traffic that was preventing me from posting in the ESPN thread was, but I am glad to see that it is good news. Indeed, so good that - if the board is to be believed - Burnett committed three times.
Welcome to Michigan, Deontay Burnett!
February 1st, 2015 at 2:16 PM ^
like a Boss, glad we got another WR, hope he/s a hungry 3 star that works to be a 5 star.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
especially at this late stage of the process. Welcome to A2, Deontay.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:24 PM ^
A nice bunch of names: Jehu Chesson, Amara Darboh, Drake Harris, Mo Ways, Damario Jones, Freddy Canteen, Brian Cole,Bo Dever and now Deontay Burnett. I'm forgetting someone ... That's a scary list experience-wise but it rolls off the tongue.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:31 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised to see attrition in the WR corps. Lots of similar players and not everyone will play.

Or someone like him redshirts next year
February 1st, 2015 at 2:35 PM ^
You forgot Jaron Dukes.
February 1st, 2015 at 4:39 PM ^
So did Brady Hoke.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
If Harbaugh likes him, I'm down.
February 1st, 2015 at 2:38 PM ^
Side Note: Van Jefferson says he will make a decision "soon" and that Michigan felt like being home again
February 1st, 2015 at 3:01 PM ^
i agree with that 110%
February 1st, 2015 at 2:39 PM ^
Awesome news! Welcome aboard! Hope to see some good things from him.
