Public arrests at ND game
I thought this was an interesting tidbit and a good example of why a night game against MSU is indeed a bad idea.
Seventy-two people were ejected from Michigan Stadium on Saturday, and 11 people were arrested. Another 133 people had to be treated by emergency medical personnel and of those 133 people, 21 were taken to the hospital according to University of Michigan Police.

for fatigue and dehydration. He is now grounded for 3 weeks and will never attend another night game again. Thank you for pointing out his inappropriate behavior and nipping this bad behavior in the bud. Dumb!
72 out of 115,109 were ejected? That's .0006%. Wow, what a crime spree.

At least it's not Arizona State University: where 1,367 arrests have occurred over the span of the first three weekends of the fall semester. Kids are going for a record there.

I was in the Marine Corps stationed in 29 palms, Ca and my roommate and I would always go to Tempe for long weekends. The bad thing about AZ back then (not sure if it still is tthat way now) is they would close the bars at 1 and not 2. Great bars though. Great bars.

Idk, 133 + 72 = 205, divided by ~115,000 people in the stadium = less than two-tenths of one percentage point of those in attendance. I have to think that more than 0.18% of the South Quad population is hospitalized, treated, arrested, or cited on a normal Saturday night.

72 out of 115,000? That's .06%. Not too shabby.

His dad is a longtime professor at Michigan Law.

You mean the "base persona's" father is a Michigan Law professor. Andrew WK has been a fictional character for years, he's played by a series of actors. http://truthaboutandrewwk.blogspot.com/ http://www.freewebs.com/whoisandrewwk/chaptertwohireanactor.htm

Yeah, but we missed out on Vodka Sam. Michigan isn't trying hard enough if we're losing to Iowa at anything. http://barstoolu.barstoolsports.com/random-thoughts/u-of-iowa-chick-vodka-sam-wins-labor-day-weekend-tries-to-run-on-field-gets-arrested-blows-341-in-jail-tweets-just-went-to-jail-yolo/

Here is an article covering the arrests / ejections at the first UTL in 2011 - LINK
In summary:
- 14 arrests
- 20 ejections
- 98 people seeking medical attention, 14 of which ended up at the hospital
The details of some of the infractions are in the article. According to the police when the article was written in 2011, that was a typical affair.

One of those hospitalized was an ND fan who had a heart attack. He looked like a trouble maker though.

I'd like to think that this isn't continuous and that thousands of Gallon robots are being made on a production line right behind Gardner.

So kind of like "I, Robot" only not starring Will Smith and a 1000x more awesome?

I wonder how many of those 133 treated by medical personnel were from fights/assaults instead of non-violent issues like heart attacks/arrhythmias, sprained ankles, etc...

I know I was one of the 133. A small child used the back of my left leg to stop their rapid descent down the stairs in our section. I had to be evacuated on the stair-chair contraption. While I was in the first-aid building I saw a rather wide range of people come and go.
There were a couple of rather drunk kids sent to the hospital, including the girl who couldn't respond to commands and vomited everywhere. There was also a young woman who was diabetic that didn't have her insulin with her and had really high blood sugar. Another guy came in with shortness of breath. And finally there was an elderly woman that was hooked up to a heart monitor that they sent to the hospital.
The doctors were busy, but they gave all of us exceptional care.

I was taken out of the stadium after ND scored their first TD. I watched my DVR and you could see the crowd around me. I'm on the left of the aisle about 1/3rd of the way down from the entrance. That side of the aisle was rather backed up. I finally got out of the first aid tent shortly after half-time. I took my mom to the game, and she had to walk back to the far end of the Pioneer lots to get the truck, and then figure out how to get back to the spot where they would let people in through the barricades.
On a side note, a 60+ year old woman driving a 3500 Ram dually might be a menace to drunken college kids at night. I thought she was going to clip a couple of them as they stumbled through the streets.

If I recall correctly, he talked about this is another thread, and was basically told by the powers that be that it wouldn't be a good idea for him to return. It sounded like he was pressured to leave due to liability concerns.

The kid and the adult in charge of the kid just kept going down the bowl.

Yep, that was pretty much it. But the only way I was going to be able to go back in was if there was a handicap spot avaialble to park a wheel chair in. I couldn't really bend my left knee, and I just barely fit in my seat as it is, as I'm a bit on the tall side.
