is leaving the bar and suddenly interacting with the stone sober, during business hours, in the sunlight....always strange (and jarring). Welcome Carlos.

I'm out of town on a business trip this week, and I also lined up a blind date with a girl this evening. I have no idea what to expect, but that's part of the fun. The downside- even if things work out with this girl, I'll still live a few states away from her. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed anyway...
I've never been on one, but thats gotta be a nervewracking thing. The MGoDrinkers are pulling for you! Hopefully you don't get Maizenblueball-s. Sorry, had to do it.

I'm at work, after all.
Off topic: I haven't been able to upload an avatar for many months...I get an error that says "...the pictures directory doesn't exist or is not writable." Anyone know what this means?
Here's what I want...it's the FSD girl - Lauren (in appropriate clothing).

of Michigan's current breweries. What part of the state will you be in?
they're both damn good of course. I'm sure you've had Crooked Tree IPA from Dark Horse...it's pretty popular. Dark Horse taproom has a bazillion mug club mugs on the ceiling. It looks pretty cool.
Bell's will have more than a dozen on tap, so you'll probably want to do a flight. Can't go wrong with Bell's if you pick styles you like. There's a new brewery just opened in Kazoo called Boatyard Brewing Company. It's one of the few I haven't been to yet.
Also in Kazoo, Peninsula Brewpub is pretty good. It's more of a restaurant but the beer is very respectable, IMO. Just five or six blocks from Bells Eccentric Cafe.

Working today and spending time with family tonight. Should be a good evening of drinking.

There better not be any sparkles in that maize-ish lettering. That would totally not be cool.

to comments indicating their worthiness I'll make it a real posbang for a few people in two or three hours. A couple restrictions apply, posters recommending their own comments will either get a short term point boost or a short term Bolivia stay, mods choice.

...So I'm drinking a coke now, but I may go after a Dr. Pepper in a bit if I'm feeling a little on the risque side.
As for tonight, I'll probably be drinking some sort of PG beverage. My wife is at 38 weeks pregnant, so any moment I could called in to duty, thus sobriety is a necessity. This kid hasn't even been born yet and she's seriously cutting into my drinking schedule.
gonna continue to vote in the same arbitrary way as usual.

Sparkle with the glitter of a thousand stars. Trying to keep it classy since it's Spike's girl and all.
Water for now. Heading to the cottage as soon as I get this one last deadline met. A weekend of Coors Lights and lake time await.
You are entitled to your opinion. I'll enjoy my time on the lake with some silver bullets. You do whatever it is you enjoy.
+1 Normal.
I like me some silver bullets every now and then.

Forcing myself to watch for the first time the 30 for 30: Catching Hell. As a Cubs fan, I still too hurt by that night. I don't blame Bartman, but the fragile mentality of the team. I still think What If. What if Moises caught that fly ball? What if the cubs went to the world series. Damn man Damn...
Just imagine being able to summon your own private beer copter drone in the Big House.

I took the day off so we could do some stuff for my son's birthday, which is actually tomorrow, but my wife works tomorrow. We took him up to his favorite place - Cranbrook Institute of Science - for a planetarium show and a peruse. I used to get taken there all the time as a kid when my parents couldn't answer the science questions, as well as the Detroit Science Center.
Tonight, my mother-in-law is taking the kids for a sleepover of sorts, so my wife and I have elected to use the time to grocery shop and return items to Old Navy for some reason - things that are difficult to do with the kids in tow sometimes. That, and hang out at a random bar like the old days.
Tomorrow and Sunday is probably going to be the semifinals of "The Great Basement Purge". If people didn't give us their crap and then pull out of the driveway before we had the opportunity to give it back, we wouldn't have to make 10 runs to the Salvation Army dropoff each year.
Far more college-kid-like then most of you classy folk. I guess II just dont really know my way around higer quality beer. Any reccomendations on stuff I could get my hands on in Mount Pleasant?
Oberon, 312 or Summertime both sound good right now, if you ever make your way to Indiana, Illinois or Wisconsin you have to get your hands on Gumballhead, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is always good, In Heat Wheat by Flying Dog is great for a day like today.
I found some Oberon down at the local supermarket. Had half of one and I'm sold. Great stuff. What exactly is a session beer? While we're at it, what is a growler? I've heard that mentioned quite a few times on these posbang threads.
Session beers can be a lot of different types, pilsners, low ABV IPA's, hefewizens, ect. but it means a beer with a relatively low ABV that you can drink for a while, as in drink for a "session". Obviously the craft brews won't taste a lot like Miller Lite, but you get the idea I'm sure. Lower ABV also usually means the beer is on the lower end of the complexity scale, so you're not going from drinking Franzia to a $300 Bordeoux palate wise.
A growler is a refillable container you can get from a brewery (usually a pretty big container). I have two half gallon growlers that the local place will fill for $8-10 straight out of the keg. I don't know what's available in Mount Pleasant, but doing a brewery tour is a really cool experience. I did the one at Goose Island's brewpub in Lincoln Park and it was really informative and came with a sampler flight of like six beers.
There are a lot of great resources online as well. When I first started drinking craft beer BeerAdvocate was my bible, they have a rating system both from the two founders and crowdsourced and are good place to start if you're trying something new.
Got football and a better knowledge and resources about beer. I know there is a brewery in Mount Pleasant somewhere, I'll have to check it out. Thank you very much, sir Justin.
I mentioned it above, but seriously, wait for a hot day outside (or just picture it if nature doesn't help) and crack open an In Heat Wheat by Flying Dog. I know I've bought their stuff in GR and A2, and it really is delicious and hits the spot to cool you off. Also it isn't the most expensive stuff you can buy, which is always nice.
A growler's just a half gallon glass container of beer filled from a tap. Plenty of places will fill yours with whatever they have on tap for like 10-15 bucks or less sometimes. A session beer has low ABV so you can, um, have a long drinking session and have a bunch. Should be easy to drink too. A good one is Founder's all day IPA.
Edit: Hmm. Suppose i should refresh my browser when i come back to my computer.
Founder's All Day is on my short list of beers to try. Maybe I should get a growler of it? I feel so technical....
Pints of everything from the UK. People mostly play darts which just seems so completely lame. Former MLB pitcher Jeff Suppan opened a bar/grille a few doors down from that. Would love to watch the Lions game but starts at 4:30 PST. (live outside L.A.)
Watching UM games as early as 9 AM took some getting used to but now I love it.

Some grilling and some...*sigh*...King Cobra. Don't judge me.

For those of you who live in the RTP area, there's a Founders takeover next Saturday at Sams in Durham. Doom, KBS (2012), Kaiser Curmudgeon, Backwoods Bastard (2011), Mango con Magnifico, Devil Dancer (2012), et al all on tap. Yeah so if you're missing the best of the Mitten . . . don't say you weren't notified.
