OT: Stanley Cup Finals Game 6. Chicago at Boston
I am suprised this thread has not been created. It is the start of the 2nd period, Boston leads 1-0. Boston has 20 seconds of a power play. Chicago is lucky to only be down 1-0 after Boston came out going all out.
Game is on the CBC and NBC. (WADT channel 38 for those in Detroit due to the fireworks...doh...)
Is it humid today in Boston? I can't tell with all of this precision passing...
I hope the sports gods never force me into a situation that requires me to root for Boston again.
I hate these teams. In fact, these are my two least favorite teams in the NHL, especially as a Wings and Habs fan. Please lose, Chicago.
And as I'm typing they score !
well crap....the bruins are crapping the bed
Well... that changed in a hurry... 2 goals in 17 seconds by Chicago.
talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.......
Bruins just choked on applesauce.
the bruins just got miami'ed
All I can say is:
LOL @ Boston. That has to be one of the worst collapses in sports history. Not only letting the opponent tie it up, but then letting them score again less than 1/2 a minute later? It's the hockey version of Buckner. Good, Boston sports fans are the absolute worst.
Now that is an all-time classic choke.
One big downside is they won this thing on the road, so there's going to be a smaller crowd in the stands to boo Bettman when he shows up in a few.
Boston fans booing. Typical poor sports as usual. Probably one of the bottom 2-3 sports cities in the US in terms of their fans. Bunch of obnoxious drunks who can barely speak intelligible English with those potatoes in their mouths.
Is this the first time you've seen Gary Bettman on the ice at the end of a Cup final? It's just about the only thing in hockey that unites even the most disparate fanbases.
before Bettman hit the ice. While I agree that Bettman deserves to be booed (and much worse) it is clear the booing started up long before Bettman got out there. It just got much much louder once he was out there, because he's a douchenozzle. But Boston just lost on their home ice. Had the series gone to game 7 and the Hawks lost at home, I'm sure plenty of Chicagoans would've been booing the Bruins celebrating on their home ice too.
I heard a "Let's go Bruins" chant after the final whistle but that's besides the point. Fall Fraturdays is a moron and there should be a way to downvote a post as "uninformed/kind of racist".
as I was not fully sober when watching last night. I could've mistaken "bruins" for booing, that is possible. But agreed there's no reason to bring race into it by fall fraturdays, thankfully "flamebait" meets your description of how to downvote.
One of my biggest regrets about losing the GhostofYost is not being able to downvote the Chicago fans on this site.
What happened to GhostofYost? It sounds a lot better than... Ferbert (which sounds like some sort of sick sex act).
GhostofYost was finally granted permission to move on to the afterlife.
Get over yourself.
Relax man. I'm just kidding around.
Kane is well down the list of potential CS winners. Crawford struck me as a no-brainer, but if for some reason you are dumb enough to have overlooked a stellar wire-to-wire performance by him, Kane finishes no better than sixth on the list of remaining candidates. Toews (who gifted Kane three of his goals with hard work and perfect passes, and oh by the way plays both ways), Keith, Seabrook (2 x GWG in OT in the Finals), Shaw and Bickell were all much bigger contributors.
I thought sportswriters voted on the CAS, not tenth grade girls from Palos Heights.
i guess they love dirty mullets and pubey beards.
seeing the Cup come onto the ice is must-see TV. Best trophy in the world, hands down.
