Can't sleep, EMO, Sad
Feeling sad. Love this team. Not only were they stacked with talent but also a really good team with lots of guys willing to sacrifice for others. The tournament is really cruel as 63 teams (actually 65 if you include the play in games) finish with a loss.
Still, to make such a deep run is rare and this team really had all the pieces. We couldn't seem to catch a break tonight, with the fouls, bounces, basketball gods. Just cant sleep and feeling super EMO sad.
Awesome year, great to hang up a Final Four banner, but if ever a team deserved a national title it was this one.
#EMO #SAD JOSH
67 teams finish with a loss.
I cant sleep either. So livid on Trey's block. SO LIVID. :( :( :(
that play will go down right along with Desmond Howards trip non call.
I am 12 timezones ahead.
Can't work, emo, sad
Right there with you. The game ended almost 4 hours ago and I've basically done nothing since. Just kind of sitting around with random emotional bursts of depression
The older you get the more these things hurt. You know how fleeting these moments are. When you are young you feel immortal and view these moments as ever possible.
Stay young at heart, stay immortal in thoughts and stay immortal in a belief of the biggest dreams....and stay forever BLUE.
GO BLUE!!!
Wow, I thought I was the only one that experienced this.
I've been a avid Michigan fan since 1982. I thought the older I got and the more established in life I got, the less I would care about silly things like Michigan sports.
But that's not how it worked out. I've seen just how elusive events like our Torurnament run really are. When I was much younger, I just expected that if it didn't happen now, it would happen just down the road. Now . . . I'm not so sure.
The "warning" on the inbounds play, like, WTF? That, the clean block by Burke, and the goaltend (there were two, actually) were just real momentum killers. So angry and sad for this team. We had 'em.
What a dumbass! You don't get a warning on blatant violation.
yeah they missed the Burke Block. The goaltend on THJ layup in the first half. And then someone pushedhed Burke into Lavert causing him to step out of bounds.
Also 2 of the refs have worked big east games throughout the year.
We'll be back, and I can guarantee it won't take another 20 years.
That's what we said 20 years ago.
Right, but then one of the biggest scandals in the history of college basketball happened. I'm not expecting that to happen again.
I haz a sad. My two best friends and I have been texting for three hours now. It still hurts.
A little I'm hurt but not yet slain.
I'll just lie down and bleed awhile,
And then i'll rise and fight again.
in particular, already stated pretty emphatically that he was coming back. Not to mention I don't think he stock is high enough to seriously consider it, even after the way he played in the tournament. Personally I think the most likely scenero is two of them leaving (Burke and THJ or GR III), though unfortunately I could see Burke, THJ and Robinson possibly leaving. I think Burke is really the only one who is ready to leave, but obviously the players themselves may feel otherwise.
Definately a bitter sweet feeling at the moment. Obviously it was great ride and Final Four appearance is a huge step forward for the program, but man it does sting to come up short in the championship.I expect this team to be a Final Four contender, consistently, moving forward, but you never know how many of these oppurtunities are going to come along.
to come so close makes it hurt even more. Those freshman all grew up fast in the tournament run, they are primed to take us back next year
Just breaks my heart to look at. That young man deserves better. They all do.
Gee, thanks for cheering me up mgovideo. That is actually a...photo though. I can't say it's good because of its contents. It's...well-taken?
"That's life. If nothing else, It's life. It's real, and sometimes it fuckin' hurts, but it's sort of all we have."
Yes, I just quoted Garden State.
No, I won't apologize for it.
Are maize and blue.
Sigh.
I want to sleep, but I'm finishing a paper. Motivating yourself to finish a paper after a soul-crushing loss is not easy.
"Wow, that was some reaaaalllllyyyy morbid shit there, UMxWolveries."
-Your TA's future notes.
in the same boat...regardless, proud of this team, coaching staff, and the program in general. We are heading in the right direction, we made louisville earn it and I am conent with that at the moment.
I will be up playing video games. No work for 3 days.
I have a physical, mental, and emotional hangover the size of the Georgia dome.
BILG- I remember you from the Haloscan days. Hang in there. It was all gravy.
Oh, fuck it. I'm EMO as hell myself and can't sleep either. God fucking dammit.
but man we were jobbed in critical ways by the refs. I know calls even out over the course of the game, but some of the non-calls and horrid calls really dictated the outcome in Louisville's favor, very frustrating.
Also, how many times did the Cards throw up the most ridiculous lay-ups and somehow they managed to go in, some after a player travelled, but hey that's reffing for ya.
One more thought, the Fab Five being in the arena during the finals while playing or spectating has not been a lucky combo for us, just sayin'.
...the physical nature of the game was waaaay out of hand. Half of Patino's team should have fouled out of that game. L'ville was rewarded for their overly aggressive play and I'm sure Patino at halftime told his guys to get rough because he knew by then the refs wouldn't have the guts to call fouls.
The only minor criticism I had while watching during the 2nd half was our coach's decision to put Spike and Trey in at the same time. I understand the thought process, but they each need the ball in their hands to be effective. I sure didn't like it at the time.
In hindsight, the "basketbrawl" style of the 2nd half, some not-so-great decisions by our guys (Trey and Tim overplaying a bit) and our missed free throws cost us.
All-in-all, a nice effort, but we were mugged in the 2nd half.
But McGary was in foul trouble because the refs fucked up the call that should have gone on Handcock and got him out of the game, who then drew a 3 point foul that got McGary out of the game. If they don't blow a call a blind man could have seen their best player in the Final Four is out of the game, and our best player in the Tourney is in it.
